108 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS one hand, the Noble Quran declares the heavens as the halting place of the angels, and on the other, it is also emphatic in stating that the Holy Spirit is given to the perfect believers, to assist them, for all times, and he does not separate from them at any time. Every single person possesses the light of the Holy Spirit to some degree due to the light bestowed upon him innately; however, in the case of ordinary peo- ple, that light becomes overwhelmed by satanic darkness and gets so smothered as to become virtually non-existent. It must be remembered that there are three groups of people, as Allah, His eminence be glorified, says: فَمِنْهُمْ ظَالِمُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مُّقْتَصِدُ وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِقٌ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ ! Meaning that: There is a group upon whom satanic darkness prevails and the Holy Spirit shines only a little. The second group consists of those in whom the light of the Holy Spirit and satanic darkness are about equal. The third group consists of those upon whom the light of the Holy Spirit prevails and who have become goodness personified.
