96 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS every moment to the extent that it did not depart from him even in his dreams; and that his Holy Spirit never ascended to heaven to leave him alone and abandoned; and that the light of the Holy Spirit never departed from him even for a moment; yet the Muslims should believe that the Holy Spirit of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, at times separated himself from the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him; and that the Muslims should admit before the opponents that the permanent companionship of the Holy Spirit granted to the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as it was to Ḥaḍrat ‘Īsā [Jesus]! was not Now imagine what greater disrespect and insolence there could be than that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is brazenly insulted and the Christians are provided an opportunity to raise objections. Who does not understand the fact that the descent of the Holy Spirit brings about the dissemination of light, whereas its departure breeds misguidance, darkness, evil thoughts, and dissen- sion of faith? May God Almighty protect Islam from the mischief of such Muslims, who-being the so-called reciters of the Kalimah—are launching an assault upon the Messenger of Allah, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Even with respect to the Disciples, the Christians do not believe that the Holy Spirit had ever departed from them; on the contrary, their belief is that they even conferred bounties of the Holy Spirit upon others. However, these people-calling themselves Muslims and donning the titles maulawi, muḥaddith [a scholar of Hadith], and Shaikhul-Kull [the Ultimate Scholar]-hold such misgivings about the glorious rank of His Holiness the Khatmul-Mursalin [Seal of the Messengers], and the Khairul-Awwalin wal Akharin [Best of all past and present]! Spewing such disrespectful language, they still deem themselves to have remained Muslims, yet others are disbelievers in their view.
