62 HADRAT MIRZA GHULAM AHMADAS harsh language, it was inevitable that every Muslim, except those who are Muslims in name alone and have no real association with faith, would have been hurt on account of the brazenness of this new sect, and so it was only in response to this that Barahin-e- Ahmadiyyah was also written. What can I say and write about the Anjuman-e-Himāyat-e-Islām and its supporters who, with- out paying any heed to Islam, have most egregiously betrayed the truth? My entire complaint rests with God Almighty. These people, despite claiming to be Muslims and supporters of Islam, so dishonestly loosen their tongues. In fact, even now there is no hope that they would feel remorse and hold themselves back by admitting their mistake. But God, Who sees my heart as well as theirs, will certainly decide between us and them in keeping with His practice, رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِيْنَ Another objection raised by the supporters of the Anjuman-e- Himāyat-e-Islām Lahore is that their association has thousands of members and sympathising Muslims so that its value and worth is well established, but Mirza Şahib has no more status than that of a mullah, Maulawi, debater or a contender, hence he has no right to be someone that Muslims rely upon. In response to this objec- tion, first let it be understood that our religion does not approve of something merely by way of custom or tradition. If someone 1.
