48 HADRAT MIRZA GHULAM AHMADAS book should not be legally banned. ” What the editor seems to imply by this objection is that the Anjuman-e-Himāyat- e-Islām Lahore rendered a wonderful service for Islam and Muslims by calling attention to the danger of a law and order situation, and by demanding the Government ban the publication of this book, whereas this man, that is, the present author, out of sheer rancour and jealousy, opposed prophecy be made in keeping with the practice of the Prophets of God? That too after persistent demands. When the man himself demanded the prophecy with so much denial, rudeness and offensive language, and God revealed it for the honour of His Messengersas, then how on earth could such a prophecy be kept secret merely because the editor of Paisa Akhbar and his ilk would take offence at it? Alas! These peo- ple fail to understand that one who was so malicious by nature that he came all the way to Qadian to heap abuses and that if God Almighty revealed a prophecy about him on his own demand, then how could I be blamed for any unjust act. He too had published an announcement about me. What crass ignorance! They repeatedly talk of the displeas- ure of Hindus, while leaving no room for [the displeasure] of God. I have submitted my case against them in the court of God Almighty. Those who accuse me, in fact accuse God Almighty as to why He caused Lekh Ram to die and why He did such an act that offended the Hindus. If this affair is objectionable, then no Prophet and Messenger can es- cape the pen of the editors of Paisa Akhbar and The Observer. This re- minds me that the editor of Paisa Akhbar had also objected as to why Ātham had not died in the prescribed time limit and now about Lekh Ram he raises the objection as to why he has died in the prescribed time limit. The truth is that malevolent criticism can be made on every side. Look, how clearly a condition was attached to the prophecy regarding Ātham, namely, that if he feared God he would not die within the pre- scribed time limit. He showed clear and evident signs of fear, therefore, he did not die within the limit. But later, by concealing true testimo- ny, he died, according to my revelation, just six months after my last
