THE MESSAGE OR A CRY OF ANGUISH 43 God! Do not let this writing that has been written with heartfelt anguish be treated with indifference. In the end, it must also be mentioned that if someone needs to look through the previous writings of a person whom he would like to be the author for this task, he can certainly ask to be pro- vided with the writings of every author he deems most competent to accomplish this task. Such writings would reveal the erudition, style of discourse and method of argumentation of the author. In my opinion, in order to reach a decision in this regard, vari- ous dissertations presented at the Great Conference¹ by several scholars that have also been published will definitely assist in this regard. For in this gathering every Muslim scholar did his best to present his dissertation. Thus, the book that has been published from Lahore by members of the conference and which contains speeches delivered by scholars from the Punjab and different parts of Hindustan, is surely a foremost criterion for this selection. I suggest seeking help from this book in making the decision as to whose writing is full of marvel, logic and blessing. For in that arena the Christian priests, Āryas, Brahmus, Sanatan Dharamis, athe- ists and Muslim scholars were all present, and every one of them spoke with the entirety of force at their command. The one who prevailed over all others with his powerful speech on that occa- sion, can again be expected to emerge victorious in this contest. It is also important to examine whether such a person has composed something in Arabic during his debates. This is because, 1.
