In fact until we do not clean all the drains of the town and wash away the filth that has accumu- lated in different minds due to various kinds of objections, and until we do not publish proofs and convincing arguments that would completely eliminate the stench and replace it with the fra- grance of pure Islamic teachings, till then, it is as though we have done nothing to save the lives of men. Here, we need not mention that the propaganda of the priests has caused large-scale damage. They have sowed such poisonous seeds in our country that seriously threatens the spiritual life of this nation. If you reflect you will realise that this mischief con- tinues to corrupt many minds, and alienates them from Islam. This mischief is of two kinds: (1) The first is that which I have just mentioned, namely the mischief caused by the toxic writings of the priests. (2) The second one has arisen out of the spread of modern natural sciences which have led many newly-educated people to take on the garb of atheism and heresy. They neither care for their beliefs nor their actions. They have taken libertari- anism to the extreme. True sympathy for the nation and mankind does not at present consist of being satisfied with merely refuting a few points. Remember, casting aside this vital task, and taking up this course of action i. e. , being provoked into sending a memorial to the honourable Government would never be beneficial. On the contrary, by thus wasting our time and energy on other endeav- ours, we would be posing a great obstacle in the way of true remedy and approach. Even if no one supported my view and all would agree that the true remedy to these poisonous winds is to send one memorial after another whilst paying no heed towards dispelling
