THE MATCHLESS QAŞĪDAH You say that he has been granted authority of all matters out of respect, As though his Father became elderly and deputized his Son. You claim that he is your helper and you seek his succour; All this is Shirk! So repent from lies and deceit. In our light there is no doubt, and you will never be able to conceal it through manipulation; Is there anyone open-minded amongst you who fears Allah, for I have come as a Warner. This word of ours is the truth and it has been purified; But alas, the Christians have chosen malice and swine. One of their deceptions is that they alter the words of holy books; Their error has been established firmly, even if they should now make excuses. 303
