ليل لان لَيْسُوا, لَسْتُنَّ, لَسْتُمْ لَسْتُ have been used in the Qur'an )13:44; 2:114; 33:33; 5:69). 28 لَيْلٌ Night (see commentary for لَيْلٌ and لَيَالٍ لَيْلَةٌ and اللَّيَالِي plurals )89:3:34:19( لَيْلٌ لَائِلٌ أَوْ لَيْلٌ أَلْيَلُ : Very dark night or the most dark of all nights of the month. Generally لَيْلٌ and لَيْلَةٌ means the same thing i. e. night, but according to famous lexicographer, Marzuqur لَيْلٌ is used as opposed to نَهَارٌ and لَيْلَةٌas opposed to لَيْلَةٌ يَوْمٌ like عَلامَةٌ and نَسَّابَةٌ is expressive of exaggeration and possesses a wider and more extensive meaning than لَيْلٌ as يَوْمٌ which is its opposite, has a wider sense than نَهَارٌ which is opposite of لَيْلٌ .
