لعل لسن certainly overtake you, cleave to you (20:130). لک لَسِنَ aor. يَلْسَنُ inf. noun لَسَنًا[ : He was eloquent, perspicuous and chaste of speech. 1) : لِسَانٌ( Tongue وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّنْ لِسَانِي : And Thou loose the knot of my tongue (20:28). (2) Language. الاً بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ : Except with the language of his people )14:5(. )3( Power of speech. هُوَ أَفْصَحُ مِنِّي لِسَانًا : He is more eloquent in speech than I (28:35). (4) Good reputation, news, information, tidings. وَاجْعَلْ لِيْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ : And Thou give me good reputation )2685( أَلْسِنَةُ )plural(. وَاخْتِلاقُ اَلْسِنَتِكُمْ : And the diversity of your tongues (30:23). = لَطَفَ ]aor. يَلْطُفُ inf. noun لَطَفَ بِهِ . أَطْفًا : He was polite, kind, courteous, gracious to him. لَطْفَ aor. يَلْطُفُ inf. noun لَطَافَةُ( : He was subtle, slender, thin, fine, elegant or graceful. فَلْيَتَلَطَّفْ : Let him be courteous or let him behave in such manner that no one should know what he is about but he should know what other people think or do لَطِيْفٌ : Courteous, kind, gracious, subtle, knower of subtleties. اللَّهُ لَطِيْفٌ بِعِبَادِهِ : God is Gracious, Kind, Benign to His servants )42:20( إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيْفٌ خَبِيرٌ : Verily God is the Knower of subtleties and All-Aware (22:64). لَظِيَتْ أَوْ تَلَظَّتِ النَّارُ لَظِيَ : The fire blazed, burned brightly and fiercely. لظى : Flame of fire )70:16( نَارًا تَلَى : Flaming fire )92:15(. لَعِبَ ]aor. يَلْعَبُ inf. noun لَعِبٌ and لَعْبٌ[ : He played, sported jested, joked. يَرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ : He may enjoy himself and play )12:13( لَعِبٌ : Sport, play game. وَمَا الْحَيَوَةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ : And worldly life is nothing but a sport and pastime )6:33( لاعِبَيْنَ )plural of لاعب : Playing, sporting, jesting; one who plays, jests, sports, jokes. ام أَنْتَ مِنَ اللَّعِبِينَ : Or are you one of those who jest )21:56(. 1) لَعَلَّ( The word denotes hope and fear. It governs the subject in the accusative case and the predicate in the nominative. In its original and general acceptation it expresses hope; but in the word of God it often expresses certainty and may be rendered "verily". It means, "so that", "that" or "in order that". لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُوْنَ : That or in order that you may be successful )2:190(. )2( 736
