لحد لحن asylum; a refuge. لَوْ يَجِدُونَ مَلْجَاً : If they could find a place of refuge )9:57( لَجَاْ مِنْهُ أَوْ عَنْهُ : He turned away from him and had recourse to another. لَا مَلْجَاَ مِنَ اللهِ : No refuge from or against Allah (9:118). He : لَحَدَ فِي الدِّيْنِ أَوْ الْحَدَ الْحَدَ and لَحْدًا inf. noun يَلْحَدُ aor لَحَدَ declined or deviated from the right course in the matter of religion; he impugned religion. اَلْحَدَ also means, he disputed, altercated; wrangled. يُلْحِدُوْنَ فِي أَسْمَائِهِ : They deviate from the right way with respect to His attributes )7:181( اِلْحَادٌ : Deviation )22:26( الْتَحَدَ إِلَيْهِ : He had recourse to him or it for refuge, protection or concealment. وَلَنْ تَجِدَ مِنْ دُوْنِهِ مُلْتَحَدًا : And thou will find no refuge beside Him (18:28). لَحَفَ aor. يَلْحَفُ inf. noun لَحَفَهُ الثَّوْبَ لَحْفًا : He clothed him or dressed or wrapped him with clothes الْحَفَ السَّائِلُ : The beggar or inquirer pressed on with the question or begging لا يَسْتَلُوْنَ النَّاسَ الْحَافًا : They do not beg men with importunity )2:274(. He reached : لَحِقَ فُلانًا أَوْ بِفُلانٍ وَالْحَقَهُ لُحُوْقًا inf. noun يَلْحَقُ . aor] لَحِقَ him, overtook him, or came up with him or joined him. لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوْا بِهِمْ : Who have not yet joined them )62:4( الْحَقَهُ بِهِ : He made him to reach, join or overtake him or to follow him. وَالْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِيْنَ : And Thou join or make me with the righteous(12:102). لَحَمَ ]aor. يَلْحُمُ inf. noun لَحَمَ الْقَصَّابُ الْعَظْمَ لَحْمًا : The butcher removed the flesh from the bone. لَحْمٌ : Fleshmeat. لَحْمُ الْخِنْزِيرِ : The flesh of swine )5:4( لُحُوْمٌ : )plural( لَنَّ يَّنَالَ اللَّهَ لُحُوْمُهَا : Their flesh does not reach God (22:38). لَحَنَ ]aor. يَلْحَنُ inf. noun لَحْمًا[ : He erred in speech; he spoke incorrectly. لَحَنَ لَهُ : He said to him what he only understood but no one else understood it; he intimated to him something which he alone understood. لَحْنُ : Tone sound, way of speaking; the meaning of speech, its intent; an incorrect word. وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِي لَحْنِ الْقَوْل : And thou shalt recognize them by the tone of their speech (47:31). 734
