قام level ground which grows nothing (24:40). 20 لک . . . . . . 28 ]aor. يَقُوْلُ inf. noun قَوْلاً and قِيلاً and مَقَالاً and مَقَالَةً[ : He said. The word is used to express a condition or state. وَتَقُوْلُ هَلْ مِنْ مَّزِيْدٍ : And it will say: "Is there more" )50:31( قَالَ بِكَذَا : He asserted his belief in such a thing, as a doctrine. The word is used for an idea which is in the mind and not expressed yet. يَقُوْلُوْنَ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ : They say to themselves i. e. in their minds )58:9( قَالَتِ الْعَيْنَانِ : The eyes made a sign as though saying. قَالَ بِرَأْسِهِ : He made a sign with his head. قَالَ بِيَدِهِ : He took with his hand or he made sign with his hand meaning to say قَالَ بِرِجْلِهِ : He walked. قَالَ فِيْهِ : He spoke against him; he vituperated. قَالَ لَهُ : He addressed him. قَالَ عَنْهُ : He related from him. قَالَ عَلَيْهِ : He said what was false against him. قال به : He loved him and chose him for himself. قَالَ الْقَوْمُ بِفُلان : The people killed such a one. تَقُوْلُ عَلَيْهِ : He lied against him. أَقَاوِيلُ is plural of لَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْآقَاوِيلِ قَوْلٌ : If he had forged any lies against Us )69:45( قِيْلٌ : Saying; cry. قَوْلٌ : Saying. وَقِيْلِهِ يُرَبِّ : I swear by his cry "O my Lord" )43:89(. قَائِلٌ )act. part. قَوَّالٌ( : An eloquent man; a great speaker. )12:11(. ]aor. يَقُوْمُ inf. noun قِيَامًا [ .
