قاع قاب do a thing; he coerced him. قَهَرَهُ عَلَى الْأَمْرِ : He forced him to do the thing. فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيْمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ : And the orphan oppress not )93:10(. قَاهِرٌ : Supreme; predominant or dominant (6:19). (عَالَهُ : Food )أَقْوَاتٌ plural 41:11( أَقَاتَهُ : He kept, preserved, guarded or protected him. أَقَاتَ عَلَى الشَّيْءِ : He had power or ability to accomplish or compass the thing. عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّقِيتًا : Powerful over everything )4:86(. قَاسَ ]aor. يَقُوْسُ inf. noun قَوْسٌ and قَاسَ الشَّيْءَ بِغَيْرِهِ قِيَاسٌ : He measured the thing by another thing like it. قَوْسٌ : A bow قَوْسُ الرَّجُلِ : The bowed or bent part of the back of a man; the word also means a cubit. فلانٌ لَا يَمُدُّ قَوْسَهُ أَحَدٌ : He is such a one that no one will pull his bow i. e. no one will vie with him or compete with him. رَمَوْنَا عَنْ قَوْسٍ وَاحِدٍ : They shot at us from one bow, meaning they were unanimous against us.
