امت آمَتَهُ أَمْتًا inf. noun يَأْمِتُ aor] أَمَتَ : He measured it; determined its measure, quantity or the like; computed or conjectured its measure; he betook himself to it or sought after it. أَمَتَ الْقَوْمَ : He computed the number of the people. (inf. noun 1) : أَمْتُ أَمْتُ( A measure of distance; كُمْ أَمْتُ مَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ الْكُوْفَةِ : What is the distance between thee and Kufa (2) doubt لَيْسَ فِى الْخَمْرِ أَمْتُ : There is no doubt about the unlawfulness of wine; (3) curvity or unevenness; ruggedness in one place and smoothness in another; one part being higher or more prominent than another; an elevated place; small mounds or hills; depression or elevation; لَا تَرَى فِيْهَا عِوَجًا وَّلَا أَمْتًا : Wherein you will see no depression and elevation )20:108( اَمْتُ also means a fault, a defect, an imperfection or the like; weakness; feebleness; languor, remissness; a goodway, course, mode or manner of acting or conduct. ]aor. يَأْمَدُ inf. noun أَمِدَ عَلَيْهِ اَمَدٌ : He was angry with him. 1) : اَمَدٌ( Time, considered with regard to its end and زَمَانٌ being time considered with regard to its end and its beginning (but sometimes it is interchangeable with 2) (زَمَانٌ( the utmost or extreme extent, term, limit, point or reach. بَلَغَ اَمَدَهُ : He or it reached his or its utmost limit or extent. ضَرَبَ لَهُ أَمَدًا : He assigned or appointed for him a limit, a term; (3) the period of life which one has reached; (4) each of the two terms of the life of a man i. e. the time of his birth and the time of his death; (5) the starting place and the goal of horses in a race; (6) any space of time; a space of time of unknown limit; a particular time. لِمَا لَبِثُوا أَمَدًا : The time that they had tarried )18:13( أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُ رَبِّي أَمَدًا : Whether my Lord will fix for it a long time )72:26( فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْاَمَدُ : So the term had prolonged for them (57:17). The difference between اَمَدٌ and اَبَدٌ is that whereas the former means time limited in duration, the latter means time everlasting. الدُّنْيَا أَمَدٌ وَالْآخِرَةُ أَبَدٌ : This life has a limited duration, but the next life is everlasting. ]aor. يَأْمُرُ inf. noun أَمْرٌ and إِمَارٌ and اَمْرَ aor. يَأْمُرُ inf. noun إِمْرَةٌ and 34 آمد اَمَرَ
