طاف طاع طائع )act. part. from طُوَّعٌ طَاعَ and طَائِعُوْنَ and طَائِعِينَ are plurals. جَاءَ فُلانٌ طَائِعًا : Such a one came submissively or obediently or willingly. قَالَنَا أَتَيْنَا طَائِعِينَ : They said we come willingly )41:12(. مطاع )pass. part. from أطاع( : One who is obeyed. مُطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ : Obeyed and faithful to (his) trust )81:22( طَوَّعَ )inf. noun تَطْوِيَّعْ - to make obedient or to cause to obey( طَوَّعَهُ : He caused or made him to obey him. طَوَّعَتْ لَهُ نَفْسُهُ كَذَا : His mind or soul facilitated or made easy to him the doing of such a thing. فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهُ نَفْسُهُ قَتْلَ أَخِيْهِ : His mind induced him or made it look easy to him or imposed upon him the killing of his brother )5:31( تَطَوَّعَ الشَّيْءَ وَ لِلشَّيْءِ : He desired the thing; he sought it; he sought it by skilful management; he constrained him to do it or he imposed it upon himself submissively. تَطَوَّعَ بِالشَّيْءِ : He did the thing without its being obligatory upon him (syn مَنْ تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا . تَبَرَّعَ به : He who does good that is not obligatory upon him or beyond what is obligatory on him( )2159( تطوّع signifies a thing that one does spontaneously, not made obligatory upon one by an ordinance of God. صَلاةُ التَّطَوُّعِ : The supererogatory Prayer. مُطَّوِّعٌ or مُتَطَوّعٌ )act. part. from تَطَوَّعَ(: One who does a thing spontaneously that which is not obligatory upon one or beyond what is incumbent upon one. مُطَّوِّعِيْنَ )plural(. الَّذِيْنَ يَلْمِزُوْنَ الْمُطَّوِّعِيْنَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ : Those who taunt with such of the believers as give willingly (9:79). اِسْتَطَاعَ الْأَمْرَ وَاسْطَاعَ : He was able to do or accomplish a thing or to acquire or have it. فَمَا اسْطَاعُوْا أَنْ يَظْهَرُوْهُ وَ مَا اسْتَطَاعُوْا لَهُ نَقْبًا : They were not able to scale it nor were they able to dig through it )18:98( اِسْتَطَاعَةُ also signifies: He demanded his obedience and his consent or compliance with what he desired of him. لک 22 28 طَافَ aor. يَطُرْفُ inf. noun طَوْفٌ and طَافَ بِالْمَكَانِ وَ حَوْلَهُ طَوَاتٌ : He went round the place. طَافَ حَوْلَ الْكَعْبَة : He circuited or went round the Ka'bah. طَافَ فِي الْبَلَادِ : He journeyed round about in the countries. طَافَ بِهِ الْخِيَالُ نَوْمًا : An idea occurred or came to him in the sleep. طَوَاتٌ primarily signifies the act of going or walking round ( also إِطَّوَّفَ and أَنْ يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا طَوَّفَ : If he goes round the two )2159( طَائِفٌ )act part): Going round; the patrol or watch that go round of the houses; a calamity; a visitation; an 531
