طم soldiers. لک ]aor. يَكُمُ inf. noun طَمَّ الشَّيْءُ طَمٌ : The thing was or became abundant. طَمَّ الْمَاءُ : The water rose to a high pitch. جَرَى الْوَادِي فَطَمَّ عَلَى الْقُرْى : The torrent of the valley flowed and choked up i. e. destroyed by choking up the channel by which the water ran into the meadow. طَمَّ الْبِئْرَ بِالتَّرَابِب : He filled the well with earth so that it became even with the ground. طَمَّ الْأمْرُ : The affair was or became formidable. طَمَّتِ الْفِتْنَةُ : The mischief was or became severe or formidable. دَاهِيَةٌ تُطِمٌ عَلَى الدَّوَاهِيْ : A calamity that predominates over other calamities. طَمَّ شَعْرَهُ : He cut his hair entirely. طَامَّةٌ : A calamity that predominates over others. مَا مِنْ طَامَّةٍ إِلَّا وَفَوْقَهَا طَامَّةٌ )a) saying of the Holy Prophet) : There is no calamity but above it is a calamity; a great or formidable thing; a cry or vehement cry that overcomes everything. فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الكبرى : But when the great calamity comes )79:35(. : طَمْأَنَ الشَّيْءَ He bent his back : طَمْأَنَ ظَهْرَهُ [ طَمْأَنَ and, يَطْمُنُ aor طَمَنَ ٢٥٠٥ He caused the thing to be or become still, quiet or calm إِطْمَأَنَّ )إِطْمِعْنَانًا and طُمَانِيْنَةٌ are infinitive nouns): He was or became in a state of rest or calm or quiet. إِطْمَأَنَّ بِالْمَوَاضِعِ : He settled in the place and took it as his home. إِطْمَأَنَّ إِلَيْهِ : He trusted or relied upon it so as to become at ease. وَالْمَانُوْبِهَا : And they are content and feel at rest with it )108( فَإِذَا اطْمَانَسْتُمْ : And when you are secure (from danger) and are quiet and calm )4:104( مُطْمَئِنٌ : A man in a state of rest or ease, quiet or calm اَرْضُ مُطْمَئِنٌ : A place low or depressed. النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ : The soul at rest )89:28( مُطْمَئِنِينَ )plural of يَمْشُوْنَ مُطْمَئِنِينَ . مُطْمَئِنُّ : Walking about in peace (17:96). کو طَهْ means إِطْمَئِنَّ i. e. be thou at rest, or it means "O man" in the Abyssinian language or so in Syriac, according to Qatadah; or so in Nabathacan, according to other authorities: Read طه with the two fet-hahs pronounced fully. (20:2). The word also means, O my beloved or "O you". طَهَرَ and طَهُرَ ]aor يَطْهُرُ inf. noun طُهُورٌ and طُهْرٌ and طَهَارَةٌ [ : It was or became clean, free from dirt or filth, or pure. طَهُرَتْ مِنَ الْحَيْضِ أَوْ 528
