سلم entered the place. سَلَكَهُ الْمَكَانُ : He made him enter the place. يَسْلُكُهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًا : He will make him enter severe punishment I made the thing enter another : سَلَكْتُ الشَّيْءَ بِالشَّيْءِ (72:18). thing. سَلَكَ الْخَيْطَ فِي الْإِبْرَةِ : He inserted the thread into the needle. سَلَکَ يَدَهُ فِي الْجَيْبِ : He inserted his hand into the pocket. اُسْلُكْ يَدَكَ فِي جَيْبِكَ : Insert thy hand into thy bosom )28:33(. اَسْلَكَه : He made him go or enter. فَإِنَّهُ يَسْلُكُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ : Then He causes to go before him (72:28). 28 سلک سَلِمَ مِنْ سَلْمٌ and سِلْمٌ and سَلَمٌ and سَلَامٌ and سَلَامَةٌ inf. noun يَسْلَمُ aor سَلِمَ تَسْلِيمُ افَة : He was or became safe, secure, or he escaped from affliction. سَلِمَ مِنْ عَيْبٍ : He was or became free from fault, defect, blemish, vice etc. سَلَمَتْهُ الْحَيَّةُ : The serpent bit him. سَلَمَ الدَّلْوَ : He made the bucket strong or firm. سَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ : سَلَّمَ )inf. noun : God made him safe, secure or free from any affliction, or saved or protected him مُسَلَّمَةٌ لاَشِيَةَ : Without defect or blemish, of one colour )2:72( وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ سَلَّمَ : But Allah saved (you( )8:44( سَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ : He said "peace be upon him" or greeted him with the greeting of peace. فَسَلِّمُوْا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ : Salute your people with the greeting of peace )24:62( سَلَّمَهُ الشَّيْءَ : He gave or delivered the thing to him دِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ : Blood-money to be handed over )4:3( إِذَا سَلَّمْتُمْ مَا أَتَيْتُمْ : Provided you give what you have agreed to give )2:234( سَلَّمَ بِالْأَمْرِ : He became pleased with or resigned to the affair. وَيُسَلِّمُوْا تَسْلِيمًا : And they submit completely )4:66( تَسْلِيمٌ : Submission, resignation سَلَّمَ اَمْرَهُ إِلَى اللهِ : He committed his case to God. سَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَذَا : He conceded that it was thus. أَسْلَمَ )is both transitive and intransitive): He resigned or submitted himself. أَسْلَمَ لِلَّهِ : Heresigned or submitted himself, or he was or became resigned or submissive to God, or he was or became sincere in his religion, or without hypocrisy to God. مَنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُ لِلَّهِ : Whoever submits himself completely to Allah )2:113( فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَا : When they both submitted (to the command of God( )37:104( أَسْلَمَ أَمْرَهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ : He committed his case to God. أَسْلَمَ also means, he became a Muslim يَمُنُّوْنَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ اَسْلَمُوا : They count it as a favour to thee that they have embraced Islam )49:18( أَسْلَمَ الْعُدُوَّ : He deserted the enemy and threw him into destruction. أَسْلَمْتُ إِلَيْهِ : I 407
