زاد زال oil of the زَيْتُونٌ )olive) ; he fed him with زَيْتٌ ie oil زَيْتُ : Oil or the choicest constituent of the olive; any oil. زَيْتُونٌ )feminine مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُوْنَةٍ . (زَيْتُوْنَةٌ : From a blessed tree - an olive whose oil would well-nigh shine )24:36( وَالتِّيْنِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ : By the Fig and the Olive (95:2). زَادَ ]aor. يَزِيدُ inf. noun زِيَادَةٌ and زَيْدٌ and مَزِيْدٌ[ : It grew increased, augmented. وَأَرْسَلْنَهُ إِلَى مِائَةِ اَلْفِ أَوْ يَزِيدُوْنَ : And We sent him to a hundred thousand or more )37:148( زَادَ كَذَا : It increased in such a thing. زَادَهُ : He gave him an increase or addition زَادَهُ اللهُ خَيْرًا : God increased him or may God increase him in good fortune. يَزِيدُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : He adds or exaggerates in his talk. وَزَادَهُ بَسْطَةَ فِي الْعِلْمِ وَالْجِسْمِ : And He has increased him in knowledge and body )2:248( وَزِدْنَاهُمْ هُدًى : And We increased them in guidance )18:14( اِزْدَادَ : It or he grew, increased or augmented. ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوْ كُفْرًا : Then they increased in disbelief )3:91( مَنْ زَادَ وَازْدَادَ فَقَدْ أَرْبَى : He who gives an addition and he who takes more, practises usury. زِيَادَةٌ : Increase an addition. إِنَّمَا النَّسِيءُ زِيَادَةٌ فِي الْكُفْرِ : The postponement is an addition to disbelief )9:37( زِيَادَةٌ = زَيْدٌ : Increase; addition; more. هَلْ مِنْ مَّزِيْدٍ : Is there more? (50: 31) زَاغَ aor. يَزِيعُ inf. noun زَيْعُ and زَيْغُرْغَةٌ etc. ]: He or it declined, deviated, turned aside from truth or the right path زَاغَتِ الشَّمْسُ : The sun declined from the meridian. زَاغَ الْبَصَرُ : The eye or the sight became dim or dull, or became weary or deviated. مَازَاغَ الْبَصَرُ : The eye deviated not )53:18( أَزَاغَهُ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ : He made him deviate from the right path أَرَاغَ الرَّجُلُ : He put the man in doubt or crookedness or made him deviate. زَيْعُ : A doubting; a declining or deviating from the truth; perversity. الَّذِيْنَ فِي قُلُوْبِهِمْ زَيْعُ : Those in whose hearts is doubt, perversity or swerving )3:8( فَلَمَّا زَاغُوْا أَزَاغَ اللَّهُ قُلُوْبَهُمْ : When they deviated, God made زَالَ their hearts deviate (61:6). ]aor. يَزَالُ and يَزِيلُ inf. noun زَالَهُ عَنْ مَكَانِهِ زَيْلٌ : He put it away fromits place; removed it or separated it as also مَازَالَ زَيْدٌ يَفْعَلُ كَذَا أَزَالَهُ : Zaid did not cease, or continued to do such a thing. لَا يَزَالُوْنَ يُقَاتِلُوْنَكُمْ : They 369
