زکا زقم زَقَمَ ]aor. يَزْقُمُ inf. noun زَقَمَهُ زَقْمًا : He gobbled it; he swallowed it; ate it quickly. زَقَّوْمٌ : The food of the people of Hell; a certain tree in Hell; any deadly food; a certain tree having small leaves, stinking and bitter, found in Tihamah إِنَّ شَجَرَةَ الرَّقُوْمِ : Certainly the tree of Loggum (44:44). 28 زَكَا aor. يَزْكُمْ inf. noun زَكَاءٌ and زَكِىَ aor. يَزْكَى inf. noun زَكَاةٌ and زَگی[ : It increased or augmented; it received increase and blessing from God; it throve by blessing of God. زَكَ الزَّرْعُ : The harvest grew and increased. زَكَ الرَّجُلُ : The man led a pleasant and easy and delicate life; he was in a state of abundance of the goods and comforts of life; he was or became good, righteous : الْعِلْمُ يَزْكُوْ عَلَى الْإِنْفَاقِ The boy grew : زَكَا الْغُلامُ . and pure Knowledge increases by spending زَكَتِ الْاَرْضُ : The land throve and yielded increase. هَذَا لا يَزْكُمْ بِكَ : This will not befit thee. مَازَكَى مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ : Not one of you would ever be pure )24:22(. زَكَّاهُ : He purified him or it (aor. يُزَكّى inf. noun وَيُزَكِّيْهِمْ تَزْكِيَةٌ : And may purify them )2:130( قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكَّهَا : He indeed prospers who purifies it )91:10( زَكَّيْتُهُ : I attributed purity or goodness or righteousness to him. زَكَّى نَفْسَهُ : He praised himself. فَلا تُزَكَّوْا أَنْفُسَكُمْ : Do not attribute purity to yourselves, do not praise yourselves )53:33( زَكَى مَالَهُ : He gave the زكوة )poor-rate) from his property. تَزَكَّى : He became purified; he purified himself; he endeavoured to attain much piety; he gave the زَكَاةٌ )poor-rate( ذَلِكَ جَزَؤُا مَنْ تَزَكَّى : This is the recompense of him who keeps himself pure (20:77) as also إِزَّكَّى and يَزَّكَّى لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّى : That he may endeavour or seek to purify himself )0:4( زَكَاةٌ : Increase; augmentation; purity; purification; good or righteous conduct; religious service; poor-rate; alms; praise; the pure or best part of a thing. وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّوةَ : And they pay the Zakat )5:56( هُمْ لِلزَّكَوةِ فَاعِلُوْنَ : They are active in giving alms or paying the Zakat )235( وَحَنَانًا مِّنْ لَّدُنَّا وَ زَكُوةً : And tenderness of heart from Ourself and purity )19:14( زَكِيٌّ : Growing or thriving; who has never sinned, pure from sins; righteous; growing or increasing in righteous conduct; رَجُلٌ زَكِيٌّ : A good or righteous man; a man leading pleasant easy and delicate life. 28 361
