زرع زحف dragged his foot. زَحْفٌ : An army or a military force marching little by little or leisurely towards the enemy, or heavily by reason of their multitude and force and heaviness of motion; a numerous army or military force. إِذَا لَقِيْتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوْا زَحْفًا : When you meet the disbelievers in battle; or meet them marching little by little (in consequence of their great number to attack you) )8:16(; or meet them, advancing in force. فَرَّ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ : He fled from war or from encountering the enemy. زَخْرَفَ ]aor. يُزَحْزِفٌ inf. noun زَخْرَفَ الْبَيْتَ زَحْزَفَةً : He adorned, ornamented, decorated or embellished the house. زَخْرَفَ الْكَلامَ : He embellished the speech with lies. تَزَخْرَفَ : He adorned, decorated himself زُخْرُفٌ: Gold; any ornament, ornature, decoration or embellishment or anything adorned or embellished or embellished with false colouring )43:36( زُخْرُفُ الكلام : The ornamented or embellished lies of the speech. زُخْرُفٌ الْقَوْلِ : The ornature of speech; gilded speech; varnished falsehoods; speech embellished with lies )6:113( زُخْرُفُ الْأَرْضِ : The colours of the plants of the earth or its herbage. أَخَذَتِ الْأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا : When the earth receives its glitter or ornature )10:25(. زَرَبَ ]aor. يَزْرَبُ inf noun زَرَبَ الْبُهْمَ فِي زَرْبِهَا زَرْبٌ : He put the young lambs in their enclosure of wood. زَرَابِيُّ )singular زُرْبِيٌّ and زِرْبِيَّةٌ and زَرْبِيَّةٌ and زُرْبِيَّةٌ( : Small pillows; carpets; anything which is spread and upon which one leans and reclines. A poet says: زَرَابِيُّ فِيْهَا بَغْضَةٌ وَتَنَافُسٍ نَحْنُ بَنُوْعَةٍ عَلَى ذَاتِ بَيْنِنَا We are sons of paternal uncle, but there are spread amongst us carpets underneath which lie concealed vehement hatred and envious competition. وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْتَوْثَةٌ : And carpets spread )88:17(. زَرَابِيُّ الْبَغْضَاءِ بَيْنَهُمْ مَبْثُوثَةٌ : Carpets of hatred are spread between them. ازَرْعُ زَرَعَ ]aor. يَزْرَعُ inf. noun : He cast seed. مَنْ زَرَعَ حَصَدَ : He who sows reaps. زَرَعَ الْأَرْضَ : He ploughed, tilled or cultivated the land. زَرَعَ اللهُ النَّبَاتَ : God made the herbage and plants to grow and increase. زَرَعَهُ الله : May God render him sound and strong. زُرِعَ لَهُ بَعْدَ شَقَاوَةٍ : He obtained property after want. ءَ أَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُوْنَهُ أَمْ 358
