رب رأى بَأْدِيَ الرَّى : Only the most abject amongst us have followed thee بَأْدِيَ الرَّأْيِ meaning without reflection or to all outward appearance or at first thought or opinion. مَا أَضَلَّ رَأْيَهُ : How misguided is his opinion. أَصْحَابُ الرَّأْيِ or أَهْلُ الرَّأْيِ : Intelligent people. رِزْقٌ : Aspect, look or outward appearance; beauty of aspect or outward appearance; what the eye sees of goodly condition and clean apparel. هُمْ أَحْسَنُ آثَاثًا وَّ رِعْيًا : They are better off in wealth and in appearance or outward show )1975( رُؤْيَا : A dream, or vision in sleep. Syn. with حُلْمٌ or رُؤْيَا is such as is good and the latter is the contrary. قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّؤْيَا : Thou hast indeed fulfilled the dream )37:106( لَقَدْ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ رَسُوْلَهُ الرُّؤْيَا : Surely, Allah has fulfilled for His Messenger the vision (48:28). رَبَّ ]aor. يَرُبُّ inf. noun رَبَّهُ رَبُّ : He was or became its رَبُّ or lord possessor, owner; he possessed or owned it; he had command or authority over it. رَبَّ الْقَوْمَ : He ruled or governed the people i. e. he was or became their lord, master or chief. رَبَّهُ : He reared, nourished fostered, brought up, him. . رَبَّ taking good care of him and acting as his guardian until he attained to puberty and also رَبَّتِ الْمَرْأَةُ صَبِيًّا . رَبَّيَهُ means the woman patted her child repeatedly on its side in order that it might sleep. It is said that the primary signification of اَلرَّبُّ is التَّرْبِيَةُ : i. e. the bringing a thing to a state of completion by degrees. رَبَّ النِّعْمَةَ : He increased or rightly disposed the benefaction. رَبَّ الْاَمْرَ : He put the affair in a proper state; he managed, conducted or regulated the affair and established it firmly. رَبَّ الشَّيْءَ : He collected the thing and possessed it. رَبَّ بِالْمَكَانِ : He stayed in the house. رَبَّ الدُّهْنَ : He made the oil fragrant or good and sweet or perfumed it. رَبَّ وَرَبَّبَ الْوَلَدَ أَوْ رَبَّاهُ )inf. noun )تَرْبِيْبٌ( : He brought up the child and took care of him till he reached his puberty . كَمَّا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا : As they nourished me in my childhood )17:25( رَبِّ : A lord, possessor, an owner of an anything ( رَبُّ and مَالِكٌ and صَاحِبٌ are syn. ) A lord, master or chief; a lord, ruler, governor, regulator; a rearer, fosterer, nourisher and an accomplisher. It is an inf. noun used as an intensive epithet, like هُوَ رَبُّ الدَّارِ . عَدْلٌ i. e. he is the master of the house and رَبُّ الْمَال : He is proprietor 306 28
