درا دخن لک در دَرَا لَهُ دُخَانٌ : There was between us an affair that had evil or mischief, arising in consequence of it; (3). it also means dearth or drought, sterility or unfruitfulness and hunger; (4). It is also applied now-a-days to tobacco. ]aor. يَدُرُّ and يَدِرُّ inf. noun دَرٌ and دَرَّ اللَّبَنُ دُرُورٌ : The milk was or became copious, abundant; the milk flowed abundantly. دَرَّ الشَّيْءُ means, the thing continued دَرَّ النَّبَاتُ : The herbage became tangled or luxuriant by reason of its abundance دَرَّ الضَّرْعُ بِاللَّبَنِ : The udder abounded with milk. دَرَّتِ السَّمَاءُ بِالْمَطَرِ : The sky poured forth rain copiously . دَرَّتِ السُّوْقُ : The market became brisk. لِلَّهِ دَرُّهُ : To God he attributed his deed. در : A pearl or a large pearl. دُرِّيٌّ : Shining, glistening, gleaming. كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّى : Ashining gleaming, glistening or bright star )24:36( . سَمَاءٌ مِدْرَارٌ : Asky pouring down abundance of rain. سَحَابَةٌ : A cloud pouring down much rain. يُرْسِلُ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّدْرَارًا : He (God( will send over you clouds pouring down abundantrain (11:53). ]aor. يَدْرَأُ inf. noun دَرَأَهُ [دَرْءٌ : Hepusheditviolently; thrustit; repelledit; or averted it. دَرَاً عَنْهُ الْحَدَّ : He averted from him, or deferred his prescribed punishment. يَدْرَؤُا عَنْهَا الْعَذَابَ : It shall avert the punishment fromher (24:9). The Holy Prophet is reported to have said ; إِدْرَوُا الْحُدُودَ بالشَّبْهَاتِ : Avert or defer the prescribed punishment by doubts. تَدَارَؤُوا : They repelled or strove to repel one another in contention or altercation; they disagreed. إِدَّرَأْتُمْ is originally تَدَارَأْتُمْ the being incorporated into the and the همزة الوصل إ( being added to commence the word and thus إِدَّارَأْتُمْ فِيْهَا means you disagreed among yourselves about it or you contended together respecting it or you repelled or strove to repel one another by each of your casting the act of slaughtering upon others (2:73). دَرَجَ ]aor. يَدْرُجُ inf. non دَرَجَ : [دُرُوْجٌ He walked or he walked leisurely, slowly or with a weak gait. دَرَجَ قَرْنٌ بَعْدَ قَرْنِ : Generation after generation passed away : He died and left no progeny درج aor. يَدْرَجُ ( : H rose in grade, degree, rank, condition or station دَرَّجَهُ : He made him to walk, or to walk gently, slowly and leisurely; he caused him to draw near by degrees; he exalted or elevated him from one grade to another 266 لک
