دحر دَثَرَ They shall turn the backs اَلدُّبُرَ is here used collectively )54:46( . يُوَلُّوْكُمُ الْاَدْبَارَ : They will turn their backs to you )3:112( وَأَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ : And after the prostrations )50:41( = 2) إِدْبَارٌ( the back or hinder part (cont. of قُبُلٌ( : the backside; (3). posterior; (4). buttocks; (5). rump;(6). the anus; (7). the latter or last part or parts of anything. دابر act. part of دَبَرَ( : Following behind the back; the last that remains of a people; he (or those) who comes at the end of a people; one who comes after or follows another; the last of anything; the root, stock, race or the like )syn. قَطَعَ اللَّهُ دَابِرَهُمْ أَصْلٌ : May God cut off the last of them or extirpate them. وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ الْكَافِرِينَ : And He cut off the root of the disbelievers )88( فَقُطِعَ دَابِرُ الْقَوْمِ : The last remnants of the people were extirpated (6:46). ]aor. يَدْثُرُ Inf. noun دُثُورٌ[ : It (a trace or mark). became covered with sand blown over it by the wind; it became effaced or obliterated; he became overcome by old age and emaciation دَثَرَ الثَّوْبُ : The garment became dirty . دَثَرَ السَّيْفُ : The sword became rusty . دَثَرَهُ : He destroyed or obliterated him or it; he covered him with دِثَارٌ i. e. worn garment. دَثَرَ الطَّائِرُ : The bird adjusted its nest. تَدَثَّرَ بِالتَّوْبِ أَوْ إِدَّثَرَ : He wrapped or covered himself entirely with the garment. تَدَثَّرَ الْفَرَسَ : He leaped upon and rode the horse. دِثَارٌ : Any garment which a person wears for warmth; upper garment; overcoat. The Holy Prophet is reported to have said أَنْتُمُ الشِّعَارُ وَالنَّاسُ الدِّثَارُ : You are persons of distinction and other people are vulgar تَدَاثَرٌ also means to vanquish the enemy . مُدَّثَرٌ act. part. ( ; يأيُّهَا الْمُدَّثَرُ : O that has wrapped himself with the mantle; Othat is ready to mount the horse (74:2) دَحَرَ ]aor. يَدْحَرُ inf. noun دُحُوْرٌ and دَحَرَهُ [دَحْرٌ : He drove him away; he expelled or banished him; he repelled him with roughness and ignominy; he put him or removed him to a distance. دُحُورٌ and مَدْحُورٌ : Driven away; repulsed or repelled; removed to a distance with ignominy and violence. دُحُوْرًا وَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَّاصِبٌ : Repulsed and for them is perpetual punishment )37:10( تلقى فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَلُوْمًا مَّدْحُوْرًا : Thou be cast in Hell condemned and rejected (17:40). 263
