خزن خَزِيَ خسا preserved or guarded the property in a خِزَانَةٌ ie store-room. خَزَنَ السر : He concealed the secret. خَزَنَ اللّسَانَ : He withheld the tongue; he prohibited it (the tongue) from speaking. خَزَنَ اللَّحْمُ : The flesh began to stink, gave bad odour. خَزِيْنَةٌ )plural( خَزَائِنُ( : A treasure; wealth or property kept or guarded, preserved in a خِزَانَةٌ i. e. a repository; magazine; a store room. لا أَقُوْلُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِى خَزَائِنُ اللهِ : I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of Allah )6:51( خَازِنٌ )plural( خَازِنُونَ or خَازِنِينَ and خَزَنَةٌ( : A treasurer; one who reposits, keeps, preserves, lays up, stores the property. وَمَا أَنْتُمْ لَهُ بِخَازِنِينَ : You are not the ones to store it up (15:23); a keeper or guardian of Hell or Paradise. وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا : And its keepers will say to them )39:74( خَازِنٌ also means the tongue. aor. يَخْرى inf. noun زی : He was or became base, abased, abject, vile, despicable or ignominious; he fell into trial or affliction and evil that exposed him to disgrace and thereby became base, despicable, etc. ; he was or became disgraced and was confounded by reason of disgrace; he was or became moved or affected with shame. مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ نَّذِلُّ وَنَخْزِى : Before we were humbled and disgraced )20:15( أَحْزَاهُ : )God) abased him; or rendered him base, vile, despicable etc; He disgraced him or put him to shame; He made him to be ashamed of himself; He compelled him to admit a proof whereby He disgraced him. مَنْ تُدْخِلِ النَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُ : Whomsoever Thou causest to enter the Fire, him Thou hast surely disgraced (3:13) تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ : And Thou disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection )3:15( خِزْيٌ : Disgrace or ignominy; a state of abasement, ignominy of which one is ashamed. لَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا خِزْيٌ : For them is disgrace )2:115( الْمُخْزِى : He who disgraces, renders vile, ignominious, base etc. وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ مُخْزِى الْكَافِرِينَ : And Allah will humiliate the disbelievers )92( أخرى : More disgracing or more humiliating or degrading. وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَخْرَى : The punishment of the Hereafter is more degrading (41:17). مُخْزِيَاتٌ ) مُخْزِيَةٌ plural) : A bad, evil action, habit etc. خَسَاً ]aor. يَحْسَأُ also خَسِيُّ[ : He was or became vile and despised and 228
