حاط حاش honestly; a true and sincere friend or helper; a select disciple or friend of a Divine Prophet; a relation قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّوْنَ نَحْنُ أَنْصَارُ اللهِ : The disciples said: "We are the helpers of Allah" )61:15( حَوَارِيَّةٌ )حَوْرَاءُ( : A white or fair woman. حَاشَ ]aor. يَحُوْشُ inf. noun حَوْشًا[ : Is derived from حَشِىَ which means, he was out of breath; he panted for breath. حَاشَاهُ مِنْهُمْ : He excluded him from them; he excepted him from them. حَاشَى denotes exception as a particle. ضَرَبْتُهُمْ حَاشًا زَيْدًا : I beat them except Zaid. It also denotes remoteness from imperfection or the like or freedom therefrom. حَاشَ لِلَّهِ : I ascribe unto God remoteness from every imperfection of the like or freedom therefrom; generally, implying wonder or admiration, so that it may be rendered, "how far is God from every imperfection" حَاشَ لِلَّهِ also means مَعَادَ اللهِ i. e. I seek protection by God or God forbid حَاشَاكَ or حَاشَالَكَ : Far art thou from being included among those of whom I speak, or from any cause of reproach. حَاشَ لِلَّهِ مَا هَذَا بَشَرًا : Allah be glorified. This is not a human being (12:32). حَاطَ ]aor. يُحُوْطُ inf. nun حَاطَهُ حِيْطَةٌ or حَاطَ بِهِ : He guarded protected or took care of him or it. حَاطَ به and اَحَاطَ به : It or he surrounded, encompassed him or it. أَحَاطَ الْقَوْمُ بِالْبَلَدِ : The people surrounded, encompassed or beset the sides of the town. أَحَاطَ بِهِ الْاَمْرُ : The thing beset him on all sides so that he had no place of escape from it. اَحَاطَ عَلَيْهِ : He took it entirely to himself, debarring others from it. أَحَاطَ بِهِ الْعَدُوُّ : The enemy surrounded him or had complete mastery over him أَحَاطَ بِهِ عِلْمًا : He had a complete knowledge of it. وَأُحِيْطَ بِثَمَرِهِ : And its fruit was destroyed )18:43( إِنَّ رَبَّكَ أَحَاطَ بِالنَّاسِ : Surely thy Lord hath men in His power, grasp; has encompassed the people entirely (17:61) يُحِيطُوْنَ بِهِ عِلْمًا : They cannot encompass it with their knowledge; they do not possess complete knowledge about it )20:111( وَكَيْفَ تَصْبِرُ عَلَى مَالَمْ تُحِطُ بِهِ خُبْرًا : And how canst thou be patient about things the knowledge of which thou comprehendest not )1869( مُحِيطٌ act. part from اَحَاطَ and مُحِيْطَةٌ feminine): One or 209
