حسر حسم tired. وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُوْنَ : And they do not weary )21:20( حَسِرَ عَلَيْهِ )inf. noun حَسْرَةً( : He grieved for it or at it; he regretted it; he felt or expressed grief, sorrow or regret on account of it. حَسْرَةٌ : Grief or regret; intense lamentation or expression of pain or of grief or of sorrow ( حَسَرَاتُ : )plural(. يَا حَسْرَتَا عَلَيْهِ : O my grief or regret for it. يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ : Alas for the servants )36:31(. يَا حَسْرَتَنَا عَلَى مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِيْهَا : O our grief for our neglecting this Hour Thus will Allah show : كَذَلِكَ يُرِيْهِمُ اللَّهُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ حَسَرَاتٍ عَلَيْهِمْ (6:32) them their works as anguish for them )2168( وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ : And thou warn them of the Day of Regret )19:40( حَسَرَهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ : He removed it, took it off from a thing which it covered. حَسَرَتِ الْجَارِيَةُ خِمَارَهَا عَنْ وَجْهِهَا : The girl removed the veil from her face. حَسَرَ الدَّابَّةَ : He drove the beast till it was tired. حَسِيْرٌ : Tired, fatigued or jaded; sight that is dim, dull or hebetated and failing; grieving or regretting or grieving intensely on account of a thing that has escaped one. يَنْقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَهُوَحَسِيرٌ : Thy look will come back to thee confused, while it is fatigued )675( مَحْسُورٌ which is pass. part. noun of حَسَرَهُ( : Removed; put off; taken off or stripped off; hence a man who has given all that he had so that nothing remains in his possession; tired, fatigued; exhausted; grieving or regretting, being syn. with فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُوْمًا مَّحْسُوْرًا حَسِيرٌ : Thou sit down blamed or exhausted (17:30). حَسَمَ ]aor. يَحْسِمُ inf. noun حَسَمَهُ [حَسْمٌ : He cut it or cut it off entirely. حَسَمَ الْعِرْقَ : He cut the vein and then cauterized it to prevent the flow of blood. حَسَمَ فِى الْعَمَلِ )inf. noun حُسُوْمٌ( : He strove, toiled and wearied himself in work. حَسَمَهُمْ : It caused them to perish. حُسَمٌ : A sword a sharp sword. لَيْلَةٌ حُسَامٌ : A lasting night; a night of lasting evil. حُسُوْمٌ : Unluckiness or in auspiciousness. الْأَيَّامُ الْحُسُوْمُ : The Days that are consecutive with evil; or that cut off or prevent good or prosperity; disastrous Days. حُسُوْمًا : Consecutively. سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَّثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُوْمًا : He caused to و blow against them for seven nights and eight days consecutively (69:8). 182
