جفن جعل جفا )8( He called or named. وَجَعَلُوا الْمَلَائِكَةَ الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ عِبَادُ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَاثًا : And they have called the angels who are the servants of God females )43:20(; )9( He held or believed to be وَيَجْعَلُوْنَ لِلَّهِ الْبَنَاتِ : And they hold or believe God to have daughters (16:58); (10) He thought. جَعَلَ بَصْرَةَ بَغْدَادَ : He thought Basra to be Baghdad. )11( He made known, plain or perspicuous. إِنَّا جَعَلْنَهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا : We have made it known etc. as an Arabic Qur'an (43:4); (12) He exalted or ennobled. وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا : And We have exalted you as a nation conforming to the best mean (2:144); (13) He put or laid. جَعَلَ بَعْضَهُ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ : He has put or placed or exalted some of وَجَعَلْنَا فِي قُلُوْبِ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ رَافَةً وَرَحْمَةً . you over others : And We have placed or put into the hearts of those who followed him pity and compassion (57:28); (14) He began. جَعَلَ يَكْتُبُ : He began to write; (15) He made or gave. جَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ : And We gave them good name )19:51( جَاعِلٌ )act part. ); maker or making. جَاعِلُ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّبَعُوْكَ : And I will make those who follow thee )3:56(; )16( To regard, consider. أَجَعَلَ الْآلِهَةَ إِلهَا وَاحِدًا : Does he regard or consider all the gods to be one God (38:6). 。 aor. يَجْفا inf. noun جَفْءٌ[ : It (a valley flowing with water) cast forth froth or foam, and particles of rubbish or refuse. جَفَاتِ الْقِدْرُ or جَفَاتْ بِزَبَدِهَا : The cooking pot while boiling cast forth its foam or froth. جَفَاهُ : He threw him down. جُفَاءٌ : What is cast forth of froth or foam, and particles of rubbish or refuse by a torrent or a cooking pot. Figuratively the word means a worthless, useless or unprofitable thing. فَأَمَّا الزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَاءً : Now as to the froth or scum it passes away as a worthless thing )13:18( جُفَاءٌ مِّنَ النَّاسِ : The first or foremost of men or people. جَفَاء also means, an empty ship. 28 یک جَفَنَ ]aor. يَجْفُنُ inf. noun جَفْنٌ[ : He slaughtered a she-camel and gave her flesh for food to the people in bowls. جَفْنَةٌ )plural( )جِفَانٌ( : A kind of bowl, particularly applied to a receptacle for food; a generous man. جَفْنَةٌ غَرَّاءُ : A generous man who entertains many guests and feeds many; he is called جفنة because people are fed by him in the كُفِئَتْ جَفْسَتُهُ . جَفْسَةٌ : His bowl was turned upside 138
