بغض بعض بَعَضَ ]aor. يَبْعَضُ inf. noun بَعَضَهُ الْبَعُوْضُ بَعْضُ : The gnats or mosquitoes bit him or annoyed him. أَبْعَضَ الْمَكَانُ : Mosquitoes increased in the house. 1) : بَعْضُ( Some or somewhat or someone; (2) a part or portion of a thing or things; (3) all يَلْتَقِطْهُ بَعْضُ السَّيَّارَةِ : Some of the travellers will pick him up )12:11( لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ : I have remained a day or part of a day )2:260( بَعُرْضُ : Gnats or mosquitoes. بَعُوْضَةٌ )singular): A gnat. أَنْ يَضْرِبَ مَثَلاً مَّا بَعُوْضَةً : To give an illustration as small as that of a gnat )2:27( أَرْضُ بَعِضَةٌ : A place or land abounding in mosquitoes. 28 The : بَعَلَ أَوْ بَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ لِلْمَرْأَةِ [بُعُولَةٌ and بَعَالَةً inf. noun يَبْعُلُ or يَبْعَلُ . aor] بَعَلَ 28 man married the woman or he took a wife; he became a husband. بَعَلَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ : She became a wife. بَعَلَ عَلَيْهِ : He resisted him. بَعِلَ ]aor. يَبْعَلُ [ : He became confused or confounded and did not know what to do. بَعْلٌ like زَوْجٌ means both a husband and wife (spouse), more generally husband. بُعُوْلٌ اَلْبَعْلُ plural( husband; wife lord, master or owner of a thing; a head chief; ruler or person of authority; one whom it is a necessary duty to obey; a family whose maintenance is incumbent upon a person; a weight or burden )أَصْبَحَ فُلَانٌ بَعْلاً عَلَى أَهْلِهِ : Such a one became a weight or burden upon his family); an elevated land; the tax that is given for the watering of palm-trees. بُعُوْلٌ هَذَا بَعْلِيْ شَيْخًا plural): This my husband is an old man )11:73( أَتَدْعُوْنَ بَعْلاً : Do you call on Ba'l (37:126)? Ba'l was the name of a god belonging to the people of Ilyas. بُعُوْلَتُهُنَّ أَحَقُّ بِرَدِّهِنَّ : Their husbands, have the greater right to take them back )2229( بُعُوْلَةٌ like بُعُوْلٌ is the plural of بَعْلٌ = بَغَتَ aor. يَبْغَتُ inf. noun جَاءَهُ بَغْتَةً بَغْتَةٌ : He came to him suddenly . لَسْتُ امَنُ مِنْ بَغَتَاتِ الْعُدُوِّ : I do not feel safe from the sudden attacks of the enemy. إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً : When the hour shall come upon them suddenly (6:32). بَغَضَ and بَغْضَ ]aor. يَبْغُضُ and بَغِضَ aor. يَبْغَضُ inf. noun بَغَاضَةٌ[ : He or it was or became hateful, odious or an object of hatred. بَغُضَ جَدُّه : His good fortune fell أَبْغَضَهُ : He hated him. تَبَاغَضَ الْقَوْمُ : The company of men hated one another. بُعْضُ : Hatred (cont. of حُبُّ 79
