HADRAT MIRZA GHULAM AHMADAS تازه رفت و بماند پس خورده دشمنان شاد و یار آزرده The good part is gone; all that is left are the leftovers; the enemies are happy, and the friends are annoyed. بشنو از وضع عالم گذران چون کند از زبان حال بیان Keep your ears open to the state of this temporary world; see how it speaks through its condition. کین جهان با کسی وفا نکند نکند صبر تا جدا نکند This world does not stay faithful to anyone, nor does it tarry un- til it has separated itself from you. از دل مرده ی درون تباه گر بود گوش بشنوی صد آه If you listen carefully, you will hear a hundred sighs coming from your distraught heart. که چرا رو بتافتم از خدا دل نهادم در آنچه گشت جدا Why did I turn away from God? Why did I give my heart to something that left me? همچنین ساعتی ترا در پیش گور آوازها دهد چون خویش There will come a moment for me as well; the grave is calling you, as it did your loved ones. یاد کن وقت کوچ و ترک جهان جان به لب خانه پر از شور و فغان At the time of your departure from the world, there will be a del- uge of sighs and lamentations in your home. 155
