صحيح البخاری جلد 4 ۶۰ - کتاب احاديث الأنبياء one attempted anything against him۔۔۔without a struggle the greatest empires, the two conquerors of Nineveh, surrender to him both themselves and their own kings in chains, as had been done to none other; even Tyre, that proud and mighty city, unconquered and unconquerable, with whose lion courage his predecessor and his successor, Nebuchadrezzar and Alexander alike, wrestled so fiercely and so long, did homage to him of her own free will,۔۔۔Above all, the little people of the Jews hailed him at the waters of Babylon as they have done no mortal before or since, as the victor and rescuer, the liberator and saviour۔" (The Historians' History of the World, Volume ii, Part viii: Ancient Persia, Chapter iii: Cyrus and Cambyses, page597-599) 3- "Derbent or Derbend, in the A۔S۔S۔R۔of Daghestan, on the Western shore of the Caspian۔۔۔to the South lies the seaward extremity of the Caucasian Wall, 50 miles long otherwise known as Alexander's Wall۔۔۔blocking the narrow pass of the Iron Gate or Caspian Gate۔This, when entire, had a height of 29 feet۔and a thickness of about 10 feet, and with its iron gates and numerous watch-towers formed a valuable defense of the Persian frontier۔" (The Encyclopedia Britannica, under word: Derbent, Vol۔7) پہلا سوال شخصیت ذوالقرنین کے تعین سے متعلق تھا۔اس کا حل حضرت امام جماعت احمد یہ خلیفہ المسیح الثانی رضی اللہ عنہ نے خوبی سے کر دیا ہے۔سکندر اعظم کو جو مشرک تھا ذوالقرنین کا مصداق قبول کرنے والوں کے لئے خورس شاہ مید و فارس کوذ والقر نین تسلیم کرنے میں یہ امر مانع نہیں ہونا چاہیے کہ وہ زرتشت کے پیرو تھے۔ان کا مذہب ابتداء میں خالص توحید تھا اور وہ ان ہادیانِ مذاہب میں سے ہیں جو رُسُلًا لَّمْ نَقْصُصْهُمُ (النساء : ۱۶۵) کے زمرے میں ہیں۔یعنی قرآن مجید میں ان کا ذکر نہیں ہوا اور ان کا دین اسی طرح بگاڑا گیا جس طرح دوسرے ہادیوں کا۔
