CHAPTER TWO FULFILMENT OF PROPHECIES 165 کیا کہوں دنیا کے لوگوں کی کہ کیسے سو گئے کس قدر ہے حق سے نفرت اور ناحق سے پیار How can I describe the slumber that people of this world have fallen into; And how much they abhor truth and adore falsehood? نور سے ہو کر الگ چاہا کہ ہوویں اہل نار عقل پر پردے پڑے سوسو نشاں کو دیکھ کر Their minds remain covered in veils even though they have seen hun- dreds of Signs; They have estranged themselves from Light and have opted for the Fire. گر نہ ہوتی بدگمانی کفر بھی ہوتا فنا اُس کا ہو وے ستیا ناس اِس سے بگڑے ہو شیار Had there not been such ill-thinking, disbelief would have vanished- Cursed be it, for it has corrupted even sensible people. پر کے اک ریشہ سے ہو جاتی ہے کڑوں کی قطار بدگمانی سے تو رائی کے بھی بنتے ہیں پہاڑ Ill-thinking can make a mountain out of a molehill, And make a flock of ravens out of a single hair of a feather. حد سے کیوں بڑھتے ہو لو گو کچھ کرو خوفِ خدا کیا نہیں تم دیکھتے نصرت خدا کی بار بار People! Why do you transgress beyond the limits? Pray have some fear of God; Do you not witness the help of God coming again and again? ایک فاسق اور کافر سے وہ کیوں کرتا ہے پیار کیا خدا نے اتقیا کی عون و نصرت چھوڑ دی Has God stopped helping and assisting the righteous? Why does He express love for a 'sinner' and an 'infidel'? کیوں دکھاتا ہے وہ کیا ہے بدکنوں کا رشتہ دار ایک بد کردار کی تائید میں اتنے نشاں So many Signs in support of an evildoer'! Why does He show these Signs? Is He, perchance, a relative of evildoers?
