وَالسَّلٰمُ عَلٰی مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الۡہُدٰی

and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

ادۡعُوۡنِیۡۤ اَسۡتَجِبۡ لَکُمۡ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer

ادۡعُوۡنِیۡۤ اَسۡتَجِبۡ لَکُمۡ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer

اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ

‘Surely, to Allah we belong

ادۡعُوۡنِیۡۤ اَسۡتَجِب لَکُمۡ

Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer

بَلۡ اِیَّاہُ تَدۡعُوۡنَ فَیَکۡشِفُ مَا تَدۡعُوۡنَ اِلَیۡہِ اِنۡ شَآءَ

Nay, but on Him alone will you call; then will He remove that which you call on Him to remove,

لَا تَسۡـَٔلۡنِ

So ask not of Me that of which

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ

It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.

فَأَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقۡوَىٰهَا

And He revealed to it what is wrong for it and what is right for it —

خٰلِدِیۡنَ فِیۡہَاۤ اَبَدًا

wherein they will abide for a long, long period.

کُلَّ یَوۡمٍ ہُوَ فِیۡ شَاۡنٍ

Every day He reveals Himself in a different state

وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللّٰہَ حَقَّ قَدۡرِہٖۤ

And they do not make a just estimate of Allah

اِنَّا نُبَشِّرُکَ بِغُلٰمِ

We give thee glad tidings of a son

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

وَالسَّلٰمُ عَلٰی مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الۡہُدٰی

and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَالسَّلٰمُ عَلٰی مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الۡہُدٰی

and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

He indeed truly prospers who purifies it,

تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَیۡہِمُ الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃُ اَلَّا تَخَافُوۡا وَلَا تَحۡزَنُوۡا

he angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

وَالسَّلٰمُ عَلٰی مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الۡہُدٰی

and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

وَالسَّلٰمُ عَلٰی مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الۡہُدٰی

and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

وَالسَّلٰمُ عَلٰی مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الۡہُدٰی

and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance;

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

اِنَّ الدِّیۡنَ عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ الۡاِسۡلَامُ

Surely, the true religion with Allah is Islam (complete submission).

وَمَن يَبۡتَغِ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمِ دِينٗا فَلَن يُقۡبَلَ مِنۡهُ وَهُوَ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ

And whoso seeks a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from him, and in the life to come he shall be among the losers.

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنَکُۡ وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ نِعۡمَتِیۡ وَرَضِیۡتُ لَکُمُ الۡاِسۡلَامَ دِیۡنًا

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion.

مَا فَرَّطۡنَا فِی الۡکِتٰبِ مِنۡ شَیۡءٍ

We have left out nothing in the Book.

قُلِ اللّٰہُ یَہۡدِیۡ لِلۡحَقِّ

Say, ‘It is Allah Who leads to the truth

اَنۡزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَالَتۡ اَوۡدِیَۃٌۢ بِقَدَرِہَا

He sends down water from the sky, so that valleys flow according to their measure

اِنَّ ہٰذَا الۡقُرۡاٰنَ یَہۡدِیۡ لِلَتِیۡ ہِیَ اَقۡوَمُ

Surely, this Qur’an guides to what is most right

قُل لَّئِنِ ٱجۡتَمَعَتِ ٱلۡإِنسُ وَٱلۡجِنُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَأۡتُواْ بِمِثۡلِ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ لَا يَأۡتُونَ بِمِثۡلِهِۦ وَلَوۡ كَانَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ لِبَعۡضٖ ظَهِيرٗا

Say, ‘If mankind and the Jinn gathered together to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like thereof, even though they should help one another.’

وَلَقَدۡ صَرَّفۡنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٖ فَأَبَىٰٓ أَكۡثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورٗا

And surely, We have set forth for mankind in various ways all kinds of similitudes in this Qur’an, but most men would reject everything but disbelief.

اَللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡۤ اَنۡزَلَ الۡکِتٰبَ بِالۡحَقِّ وَالۡمِیۡزَانَ

Allah it is Who has sent down the Book with truth and also the Balance

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَرۡسَلَ رَسُولَهُۥ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ ٱلۡحَقِّ لِيُظۡهِرَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلدِّينِ كُلِّهِۦ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدٗا

He it is Who has sent His Messenger, with guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may make it prevail over all other religions. And sufficient is Allah as a Witness.

حِکۡمَۃٌۢ بَالِغَۃٌ

Consummate wisdom

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ

It is surely a decisive word,

اَللّٰہُ وَلِیُّ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا ۙ یُخۡرِجُہُمۡ مِّنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَی النُّوۡرِ

Allah is the friend of those who believe: He brings them out of every kind of darkness into light.

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةٖ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ

Truly, We revealed it in a blessed Night. Truly, We have ever been warning against evil.

فِيهَا يُفۡرَقُ كُلُّ أَمۡرٍ حَكِيمٍ

In it all wise things are decided,

۞فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ

Nay, I swear by the shooting of the stars —

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ

And, indeed, that is a grand oath, if you only knew —

إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ

That this is indeed a noble Qur’an,

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ

Verily, this is the certain truth.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةٞ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

And verily it is a reminder for the righteous.

وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلۡغَيۡبِ بِضَنِينٖ

And he is not niggardly with respect to the unseen.

فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ

In a well-preserved Book,

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

مَّا ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٞ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُۥ صِدِّيقَةٞ ۖ كَانَا يَأۡكُلَانِ ٱلطَّعَامَ ۗ ٱنظُرۡ كَيۡفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرۡ أَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَكُونَ

The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a Messenger; surely, Messengers like unto him had indeed passed away before him. And his mother was a truthful woman. They both used to eat food. See how We explain the Signs for their good, and see how they are turned away.

قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

کَانَا یَاۡکُلٰنِ الطَّعَامَ

They both used to eat food

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنَکُم وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ نِعۡمَتِیۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you

اِنَّ ہٰذَا الۡقُرۡاٰنَ یَہۡدِیۡ لِلَّتیۡ ہِیَ اَقۡوَمُ

Surely, this Qur’an guides to what is most right;

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Gracious, the Merciful,

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

وَہُوَ بِکُلِّ خَلۡقٍ عَلِیۡمُ

and He knows every kind of creation full well,

أَوَلَيۡسَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخۡلُقَ مِثۡلَهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

‘Has not He Who created the heavens and the earth the power to create the like of them?’ Yea, and He is indeed the Supreme Creator, the All-Knowing.

إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيۡـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Verily His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, ‘Be!,’ and it is.

فَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ

So Holy is He, in Whose hand is the kingdom of all things. And to Him will you all be brought back.

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهَا نُودِيَ أَنۢ بُورِكَ مَن فِي ٱلنَّارِ وَمَنۡ حَوۡلَهَا وَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

So when he came to it, he was called by a voice: ‘Blessed is he who is in the fire and also those around it; and glorified be Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

فَاُولٰٓئِکَ مَعَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمَ اللّٰہُ عَلَیۡہِمۡ مِّنَ النَّبِیّٖنَ وَالصِّدِّیۡقِیۡنَ وَالشُّہَدَآءِ وَالصّٰلِحِیۡنَ

on whom Allah has bestowed His blessings, namely, the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous.

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنَکمۡ وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ نِعۡمَتِیۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you

أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا كَلِمَةٗ طَيِّبَةٗ كَشَجَرَةٖ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصۡلُهَا ثَابِتٞ وَفَرۡعُهَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ

Dost thou not see how Allah sets forth the similitude of a good word? It is like a good tree, whose root is firm and whose branches reach into heaven.

تُؤۡتِيٓ أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينِۭ بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهَا ۗ وَيَضۡرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡأَمۡثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

It brings forth its fruit at all times by the command of its Lord. And Allah sets forth similitudes for men that they may reflect.

یُثَبِّتُ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا بِالۡقَوۡلِ الثَّابِتِ فِی الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا وَفِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ ۚ وَیُضِلُّ اللّٰہُ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ۟ۙ

Allah strengthens the believers with the word that is firmly established, both in the present life and in the Hereafter; and Allah lets the wrongdoers go astray.

اِنَّ فِیۡ خَلۡقِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَاخۡتِلَافِ الَّیۡلِ وَالنَّہَارِ وَالۡفُلۡکِ الَّتِیۡ تَجۡرِیۡ فِی الۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا یَنۡفَعُ النَّاسَ وَمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰہُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مِنۡ مَّآءٍ فَاَحۡیَا بِہِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِہَا وَبَثَّ فِیۡہَا مِنۡ کُلِّ دَآبَّۃٍ ۪ وَّتَصۡرِیۡفِ الرِّیٰحِ وَالسَّحَابِ

Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of night and day, and in the ships which sail in the sea with that which profits men, and in the water which Allah sends down from the sky and quickens therewith the earth after its death and scatters therein all kinds of beasts, and in the change of the winds,

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Gracious, the Merciful,

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

الۡمُسَخَّرِ بَیۡنَ السَّمَآءِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ لَاٰیٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ یَّعۡقِلُوۡنَ

and the clouds pressed into service between the heaven and the earth — are indeed Signs for the people who understand.

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

فَرۡعُہَا فِی السَّمَآءِ

whose branches reach into heaven.

تُؤۡتِیۡۤ اُکُلَہَا کُلَّ حِیۡنٍۭ

It brings forth its fruit at all times

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised.

نَحۡنُ أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَشۡتَهِيٓ أَنفُسُكُمۡ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ

‘We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter. Therein you will have all that your souls will desire, and therein you will have all that you will ask for —

نُزُلٗا مِّنۡ غَفُورٖ رَّحِيمٖ

‘An entertainment from the Most Forgiving, the Merciful.’

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَاۡمُرُ بِالۡعَدۡلِ وَالۡاِحۡسَانِ وَاِیۡتَآیِٔ ذِی الۡقُرۡبٰی

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred

وَجَزٰٓؤُا سَیِّئَۃٍ سیِّئَۃٌ مِّثۡلُہَا ۚ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَجۡرُہٗ عَلَی اللّٰہِ

And the recompense of an injury is an injury the like thereof; but whoso forgives and his act brings about reformation, his reward is with Allah

ۣالَّذِیۡنَ یُبَلِّغُوۡنَ رِسٰلٰتِ اللّٰہِ وَیَخۡشَوۡنَہٗ وَلَا یَخۡشَوۡنَ اَحَدًا اِلَّا اللّٰہَ

Those who delivered the Messages of Allah and feared Him, and feared none but Allah.

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكٞ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ۖ ٱئۡتُونِي بِكِتَٰبٖ مِّن قَبۡلِ هَٰذَآ أَوۡ أَثَٰرَةٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

Say, ‘Do you know what it is you call on beside Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth. Or have they a share in the creation of the heavens? Bring me a Book revealed before this or some vestige of knowledge in your support, if you indeed speak the truth.’

وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدۡعُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسۡتَجِيبُ لَهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَآئِهِمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ

And who is more astray than those who, instead of Allah, pray unto such as will not answer them till the Day of Resurrection, and they are even unconscious of their prayer?

وَقَالُواْ لَن يَدۡخُلَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَن كَانَ هُودًا أَوۡ نَصَٰرَىٰ ۗ تِلۡكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمۡ ۗ قُلۡ هَاتُواْ بُرۡهَٰنَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

And they say, ‘None shall ever enter Heaven unless he be a Jew or a Christian.’ These are their vain desires. Say, ‘Produce your proof, if you are truthful.’

بَلَىٰ ۚ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Nay, whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve.

قُلۡ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحۡيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Say, ‘My Prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are all for Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُۥ ۖ وَبِذَٰلِكَ أُمِرۡتُ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ

‘He has no partner. And so am I commanded, and I am the first of those who submit.’

أَلَآ إِنَّ أَوۡلِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Behold! the friends of Allah shall certainly have no fear, nor shall they grieve —

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ

Those who believed and kept to righteousness —

لَهُمُ ٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ ۚ لَا تَبۡدِيلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

For them are glad tidings in the present life and also in the Hereafter — there is no changing the words of Allah; that indeed is the supreme triumph.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised.

نَحۡنُ أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَشۡتَهِيٓ أَنفُسُكُمۡ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ

‘We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter. Therein you will have all that your souls will desire, and therein you will have all that you will ask for —

نُزُلٗا مِّنۡ غَفُورٖ رَّحِيمٖ

‘An entertainment from the Most Forgiving, the Merciful.’

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلۡيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِي لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡشُدُونَ

And when My servants ask thee about Me, say: ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way.’

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِنۡ تَتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ یَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ فُرۡقَانًا

O ye who believe! if you fear Allah, He will grant you a distinction

تُؤۡتِیۡۤ اُکُلَہَا کُلَّ حِیۡنٍۭ

It brings forth its fruit at all times

قُلۡ اِنَّمَا الۡاٰیٰتُ عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ

Say, ‘Surely, Signs are with Allah.

وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عُزَيۡرٌ ٱبۡنُ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَى ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ ٱللَّهِ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ قَوۡلُهُم بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ ۖ يُضَٰهِـُٔونَ قَوۡلَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ ۚ قَٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۖ أَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَكُونَ

And the Jews say, Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say, the Messiah is the son of Allah; that is what they say with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before them. Allah’s curse be on them! How are they turned away!

اِتَّخَذُوۡۤا اَحۡبَارَہُمۡ وَرُہۡبَانَہُمۡ اَرۡبَابًا

They have taken their learned men and their monks

مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ وَالۡمَسِیۡحَ ابۡنَ مَرۡیَمَ ۚ وَمَاۤ اُمِرُوۡۤا اِلَّا لِیَعۡبُدُوۡۤا اِلٰـہًا وَّاحِدًا ۚ لَاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ ؕ سُبۡحٰنَہٗ عَمَّا یُشۡرِکُوۡنَ

for lords beside Allah. And so have they taken the Messiah, son of Mary. And they were not commanded but to worship the One God. There is no God but He. Too Holy is He for what they associate with Him!

يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُطۡفِـُٔواْ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَيَأۡبَى ٱللَّهُ إِلَّآ أَن يُتِمَّ نُورَهُۥ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths; but Allah will permit nothing except that He will perfect His light, though the disbelievers may dislike it.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَرۡسَلَ رَسُولَهُۥ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ ٱلۡحَقِّ لِيُظۡهِرَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلدِّينِ كُلِّهِۦ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكُونَ

He it is Who sent His Messenger with guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may make it prevail over every other religion, even though the idolaters may dislike it.

اَمۡ جَعَلُوۡا لِلٰہِ شُرَکَآءَ خَلَقُوۡا کَخَلۡقِہٖ فَتَشَابَہَ الۡخَلۡقُ عَلَیۡہِمۡ ؕ قُلِ اللّٰہُ خَالِقُ کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ وَّہُوَ الۡوَاحِدُ الۡقَہَّارُ

Or, do they assign to Allah partners who have created the like of His creation so that the two creations appear similar to them?’ Say, ‘Allah alone is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Most Supreme.’

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُحۡيِيكُمۡ ۖ هَلۡ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَفۡعَلُ مِن ذَٰلِكُم مِّن شَيۡءٖ ۚ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ

It is Allah Who has created you, and then He has provided for you; then He will cause you to die, and then He will bring you to life. Is there any of your ‘partners’ who can do any of these things? Glorified be He and exalted above that which they associate with Him.

وَقَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَلَدٗا ۗ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ ۚ بَلۡ عِبَادٞ مُّكۡرَمُونَ

And they say, ‘The Gracious God has taken to Himself a son.’ Holy is He. Nay, they are only honoured servants.

۞وَمَن يَقُلۡ مِنۡهُمۡ إِنِّيٓ إِلَٰهٞ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

And whosoever of them should say, ‘I am a God beside Him,’ him shall We requite with Hell. Thus do We requite the wrongdoers.

وَقَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَلَدٗا

And they say, ‘The Gracious God has taken unto Himself a son.’

لَّقَدۡ جِئۡتُمۡ شَيۡـًٔا إِدّٗا

Assuredly, you have done a most monstrous thing!

تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرۡنَ مِنۡهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلۡجِبَالُ هَدًّا

The heavens might well-nigh burst thereat, and the earth cleave asunder, and the mountains fall down in pieces,

أَن دَعَوۡاْ لِلرَّحۡمَٰنِ وَلَدٗا

Because they ascribe a son to the Gracious God.

وَيَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَمۡ يُنَزِّلۡ بِهِۦ سُلۡطَٰنٗا وَمَا لَيۡسَ لَهُم بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞ ۗ وَمَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٖ

And they worship beside Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and that of which they have no knowledge. And for those that do wrong there is no helper.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

اَسۡلَمَ وَۡہَہٗ لِلّٰہِ وَہُوَ مُحۡسِنٌ فَلَہٗۤ اَجۡرُہٗ عِنۡدَ رَبِّہٖ ۪ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such

وَلَا ہُمۡ یَحۡزَنُوۡنَ

neither shall they grieve

قَالَ عَذَابِیۡۤ اُصِیۡبُ بِہٖ مَنۡ اَشَآءُ ۚ وَرَحۡمَتِیۡ وَسِعَتۡ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ

I will inflict My punishment on whom I will; but My mercy encompasses all things

وَاِنۡ تَعُدُّوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰہِ لَا تُحۡصُوۡہَا

and if you try to count the favours of Allah, you will not be able to number them

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Gracious, the Merciful,

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

وَکَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰیٰتِنَاۤ اُولٰٓئِکَ اَصۡحٰبُ النَّارِ ۚ ہُمۡ فِیۡہَا خٰلِدُوۡنَ

and treat Our Signs as lies, these shall be the inmates of the Fire; therein shall they abide.

غَافِرِ الذَّنۡۢبِ وَقَابِلِ التَّوۡبِ

The Forgiver of sin and the Acceptor of repentance

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخۡرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزۡقٗا لَّكُمۡ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡفُلۡكَ لِتَجۡرِيَ فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِأَمۡرِهِۦ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرَ

Allah is He Who created the heavens and the earth and caused water to come down from the clouds, and brought forth therewith fruits for your sustenance; and He has subjected to you the ships that they may sail through the sea by His command, and the rivers too has He subjected to you.

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ دَآئِبَيۡنِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ

And He has also subjected to you the sun and the moon, both performing their work constantly. And He has subjected to you the night as well as the day.

وَاٰتٰٮکُمۡ مِّنۡ کُلِّ مَا سَاَلۡتُمُوۡہُ ؕ وَاِنۡ تَعُدُّوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰہِ لَا تُحۡصُوۡہَا

And He gave you all that you wanted of Him; and if you try to count the favours of Allah, you will not be able to number them.

وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمَ خَلَقَهَا ۖ لَكُمۡ فِيهَا دِفۡءٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ وَمِنۡهَا تَأۡكُلُونَ

And the cattle too He has created; you find in them warmth and other uses; and some of them you eat.

وَہُوَ الَّذِیۡ سَخَّرَ الۡبَحۡرَ لِتَاۡکُلُوۡا مِنۡہُ لَحۡمًا طَرِیًّا

And He it is Who has subjected to you the sea that you may eat therefrom fresh flesh

وَاللّٰہُ اَنۡزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَاَحۡیَا بِہِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِہَا

And Allah has sent down water from the sky, and has quickened therewith the earth after its death.

یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ ہَلۡ لَّنَا مِنَ الۡاَمۡرِ مِنۡ شَیۡءٍ ؕ قُلۡ اِنَّ الۡاَمۡرَ کُلَّہٗ لِلّٰہِ

They said, ‘Is there for us any part in the government of affairs?’ Say, ‘All government belongs to Allah.’

وَلَا بِالۡیَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ وَلَا یُحَرِّمُوۡنَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللّٰہُ وَرَسُوۡلُہٗ وَلَا یَدِیۡنُوۡنَ دِیۡنَ الۡحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذِیۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡکِتٰبَ حَتّٰی یُعۡطُوا الۡجِزۡیَۃَ عَنۡ ‌یَّدٍ وَّہُمۡ صٰغِرُوۡنَ

nor in the Last Day, nor hold as unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have declared to be unlawful, nor follow the true religion, until they pay the tax with their own hand and acknowledge their subjectio

فَاۡتُوۡا بِسُوۡرَۃٍ مِّنۡ مِّثۡلِہٖ

then produce a Chapter like it

لَاۤ اِکۡرَاہَ فِی الدِّیۡنِ

There should be no compulsion in religion.

لَہَا مَا کَسَبَتۡ وَعَلَیۡہَا مَا اکۡتَسَبَتۡ

It shall have the reward it earns, and it shall get the punishment it incurs

یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ ہَلۡ لَّنَا مِنَ الۡاَمۡرِ مِنۡ شَیۡءٍ

They said, ‘Is there for us any part in the government of affairs?

فَکَیۡفَ اِذَاۤ اَصَابَتۡہُمۡ مُّصِیۡبَۃٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ اَیۡدِیۡہِمۡ

Then how is it that when an affliction befalls them

وَلَوۡ یُؤَاخِذُ اللّٰہُ النَّاسَ بِمَا کَسَبُوۡا مَا تَرَکَ عَلٰی ظَہۡرِہَا مِنۡ دَآبَّۃٍ

And if Allah were to punish people for what they do, He would not leave a living creature on the surface of the earth;

مَنۡ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفۡسہٖ

Whoso does right, it is for his own soul;

وَأَن لَّيۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ

And that man will have nothing but what he strives for;

قُلۡ اِنَّ الۡاَمۡرَ کُلَّہٗ لِلّٰہِ

Say, ‘All government belongs to Allah

إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيۡسَ لَكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِينَ

‘Surely, thou shalt have no power over My servants, except such of the erring ones as choose to follow thee.’

وَخَلَقَ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ فَقَدَّرَہٗ تَقۡدِیۡرًا

and has created everything, and has ordained for it its proper measure.

یُضِلُّ بِہٖ کَثِیۡرًا ۙ وَّیَہۡدِیۡ بِہٖ کَثِیۡرًا ؕ وَمَا یُضِلُّ بِہٖۤ اِلَّا الۡفٰسِقِیۡنَ

Many does He adjudge by it to be erring and many by it does He guide, and none does He adjudge thereby to be erring except the disobedient,

لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنۡهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ

‘That I will certainly fill Hell with thee and with those who follow thee, all together.’

فِیۡ قُلُوۡبِہِمۡ مَّرَضٌ ۙ فَزَادَہُمُ اللّٰہُ مَرَضًا

In their hearts was a disease, and Allah has increased their disease to them

بَلۡ طَبَعَ اللّٰہُ عَلَیۡہَا بِکُفۡرِہِمۡ

nay, but Allah has sealed them because of their disbelief

فَلَمَّا زَاغُوۡۤا اَزَاغَ اللّٰہُ قُلُوۡبَہُمۡ

So when they deviated from the right course, Allah caused their hearts to deviate

اِلَیۡہِ یُرۡجَعُ الۡاَمۡرُ کُلُّہٗ

to Him shall the whole affair be referred.

اِنَّ عِبَادِیۡ لَیۡسَ لَکَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ سُلۡطٰنٌ

‘Surely, thou shalt have no power over My servants

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Gracious, the Merciful,

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

وَمَا لَکُمۡ لَا تُقَاتِلُوۡنَ فِیۡ سَبِیۡلِ اللّٰہِ وَالۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِیۡنَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَآءِ وَالۡوِلۡدَانِ

And what is the matter with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and of the weak — men, women and children

وَإِذۡ يَمۡكُرُ بِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِيُثۡبِتُوكَ أَوۡ يَقۡتُلُوكَ أَوۡ يُخۡرِجُوكَ ۚ وَيَمۡكُرُونَ وَيَمۡكُرُ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡمَٰكِرِينَ

And remember the time when the disbelievers plotted against thee that they might imprison thee or kill thee or expel thee. And they planned and Allah also planned, and Allah is the Best of planners.

وَقَاتِلُوۡا فِیۡ سَبِیۡلِ اللّٰہِ الَّذِیۡنَ یُقَاتِلُوۡنَکُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡتَدُوۡا

And fight in the cause of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress

وَلَا یَزَالُوۡنَ یُقَاتِلُوۡنَکُمۡ حَتّٰی یَرُدُّوۡکُمۡ عَنۡ دِیۡنِکُمۡ اِنِ اسۡتَطَاعُوۡا

And they will not cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith, if they can

وَلَوۡلَا دَفۡعُ اللّٰہِ النَّاسَ بَعۡضَہُمۡ بِبَعۡضٍ ۙ لَّفَسَدَتِ الۡاَرۡضُ

And had it not been for Allah’s repelling men, some of them by the others, the earth would have become filled with disorder.

یٰۤاَہۡلَ الۡکِتٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّوۡنَ

O People of the Book! why hinder ye the believers

وَہُمۡ بَدَءُوۡکُمۡ اَوَّلَ مَرَّۃٍ

and they were the first to commence hostilities against you?

اِنۡ عَاقَبۡتُمۡ فَعَاقِبُوۡا بِمِثۡلِ مَا ُوۡقِبۡتُمۡ بِہٖ

if you desire to punish the oppressors, then punish them to the extent to which you have been wronged

اِذۡ جَآءُوۡکُمۡ مِّنۡ فَوۡقِکُمۡ وَمِنۡ اَسۡفَلَ مِنۡکُمۡ

When they came upon you from above you, and from below you

قَٰتِلُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا بِٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ ٱلۡحَقِّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ حَتَّىٰ يُعۡطُواْ ٱلۡجِزۡيَةَ عَن يَدٖ وَهُمۡ صَٰغِرُونَ

Fight those from among the People of the Book who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor hold as unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have declared to be unlawful, nor follow the true religion, until they pay the tax with their own hand and acknowledge their subjection.

وَقَٰتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡتَدُوٓاْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدِينَ

And fight in the cause of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress. Surely, Allah loves not the transgressors.

وَاقۡتُلُوۡہُمۡ حَیۡثُ ثَقِفۡتُمُوۡہُمۡ وَاَخۡرِجُوۡہُمۡ مِّنۡ حَیۡثُ اَخۡرَجُوۡکُمۡ

And kill them wherever you meet them and drive them out from where they have driven you out;

وَقتِلُوۡہُمۡ حَتّٰی لَا تَکُوۡنَ فِتۡنَۃٌ وَّیَکُوۡنَ الدِّیۡنُ لِلّٰہِ

And fight them until there is no persecution, and religion is freely professed for Allah.

قُلۡ قِتَالٌ فِیۡہِ کَبِیۡرٌ ؕ وَصَدٌّ عَنۡ سَبِیۡلِ اللّٰہِ وَکُفۡرٌۢ بِہٖ وَالۡمَسۡجِدِ الۡحَرَامِ ٭ وَاِخۡرَاجُ اَہۡلِہٖ مِنۡہُ اَکۡبَرُ عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ ۚ وَالۡفِتۡنَۃُ اَکۡبَرُ مِنَ الۡقَتۡلِ ؕ وَلَا یَزَالُوۡنَ یُقَاتِلُوۡنَکُمۡ حَتّٰی یَرُدُّوۡکُمۡ عَنۡ دِیۡنِکُمۡ اِنِ اسۡتَطَاعُوۡا

Say: ‘Fighting therein is a great transgression, but to hinder men from the way of Allah, and to be ungrateful to Him and to hinder men from the Sacred Mosque, and to turn out its people therefrom, is a greater sin with Allah; and persecution is worse than killing.’ And they will not cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith, if they can.

وَلَوۡلَا دَفۡعُ اللّٰہِ النَّاسَ بَعۡضَہُمۡ

And had it not been for Allah’s repelling men

اِنۡ عَاقَبۡتُمۡ فَعَاقِبُوۡا بِمِثۡلِ مَا عُۡقِبۡتُمۡ بِہٖ

if you desire to punish the oppressors, then punish them to the extent to which you have been wronged

أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ ظُلِمُواْ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ نَصۡرِهِمۡ لَقَدِيرٌ

Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged — and Allah indeed has power to help them —

ۣالَّذِیۡنَ اُخۡرِجُوۡا مِنۡ دِیَارِہِمۡ بِغَیۡرِ حَقٍّ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ یَّقُوۡلُوۡا رَبُّنَا اللّٰہُ

Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly only because they said, ‘Our Lord is Allah’

یٰۤاَہۡلَ الۡکِتٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّوۡنَ عَنۡ سَبِیۡلِ اللّٰہِ مَنۡ اٰمَنَ تَبۡغُوۡنَہَا عِوَجًا

Say, ‘O People of the Book! why hinder ye the believers from the path of Allah, seeking to make it crooked, while you are witnesses

وَہُمۡ بَدَءُوۡکُمۡ اَوَّلَ مَرَّۃٍ

and they were the first to commence hostilities against you?

حَتّٰی یُعۡطُوا الۡجِزۡیَۃَ عَنۡ ‌یَّدٍ وَّہُمۡ صٰغِرُوۡنَ

until they pay the tax with their own hand and acknowledge their subjection

وَلَئِنۡ صَبَرۡتُمۡ لَہُوَ خَیۡرٌ لِّلصّٰبِرِیۡنَ

but if you show patience, then, surely, that is best for those who are patient.

وَقٰتِلُوۡہُمۡ حَتّٰی لَا تَکُوۡنَ فِتۡنَۃٌ وَّیَکُوۡنَ الدِّیۡنُ لِلّٰہِ

And fight them until there is no persecution, and religion is freely professed for Allah

أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ ظُلِمُواْ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ نَصۡرِهِمۡ لَقَدِيرٌ

Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged — and Allah indeed has power to help them —

وَقَاتِلُوۡہُمۡ حَتّٰی لَا َکُوۡنَ فِتۡنَۃٌ وَّیَکُوۡنَ الدِّیۡنُ کُلُّہٗ لِلّٰہِ

And fight them until there is no persecution and religion is wholly for Allah.

ذٰلِکَ بِاَنَّہُمۡ قَوۡمٌ لَّا یَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

That is because they are a people who have no knowledge.

ۣالَّذِیۡنَ اُخۡرِجُوۡا مِنۡ دِیَارِہِمۡ بِغَیۡرِ حَقٍّ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ یَّقُوۡلُوۡا رَبُّنَا اللّٰہُ

Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly only because they said, ‘Our Lord is Allah’

ثُمَّ اَبۡلِغۡہُ مَاۡمَنَہٗ

then convey him to his place of security.

کَیۡفَ یَکُوۡنُ لِلۡمُشۡرِکِیۡنَ عَہۡدٌ عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ وَعِنۡدَ رَسُوۡلِہٖۤ

How can there be a treaty of these idolaters with Allah and His Messenger

لَا يَرۡقُبُونَ فِي مُؤۡمِنٍ إِلّٗا وَلَا ذِمَّةٗ ۚ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدُونَ

They observe not any tie of relationship or covenant in respect of anyone who trusts them. And it is they who are transgressors.

وَإِن نَّكَثُوٓاْ أَيۡمَٰنَهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ عَهۡدِهِمۡ وَطَعَنُواْ فِي دِينِكُمۡ فَقَٰتِلُوٓاْ أَئِمَّةَ ٱلۡكُفۡرِ إِنَّهُمۡ لَآ أَيۡمَٰنَ لَهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَنتَهُونَ

And if they break their oaths after their covenant, and attack your religion, then fight these leaders of disbelief — surely, they have no regard for their oaths — that they may desist.

اَلَا تُقَاتِلُوۡنَ قَوۡمًا نَّکَثُوۡۤا اَیۡمَانَہُمۡ وَہَمُّوۡا بِاِخۡرَاجِ الرَّسُوۡلِ وَہُمۡ بَدَءُوۡکُمۡ اَوَّلَ مَرَّۃٍ

Will you not fight a people who have broken their oaths, and who plotted to turn out the Messenger, and they were the first to commence hostilities against you?

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Gracious, the Merciful,

یٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّبِیُّ اِنَّاۤ اَحۡلَلۡنَا لَکَ اَزۡوَاجَکَ الّٰتِیۡۤ اٰتَیۡتَ اُجُوۡرَہُنَّ وَمَا مَلَکَتۡ یَمِیۡنُکَ

O Prophet, We have made lawful to thee thy wives whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesses

وَّیَکُوۡنَ الدِّیۡنُ کُلُّہٗ لِلّٰہِ

and religion is wholly for Allah

لَاۤ اِکۡرَاہَ فِی الدِّیۡنِ

There should be no compulsion in religion.

وَجٰہَدُوۡا فِیۡ سَبِیۡلِ اللّٰہِ بِاَمۡوَالِہِمۡ وَاَنۡفُسِہِمۡ

and strive in the cause of Allah with their property and their persons

وَلَا یَخۡشَوۡنَ اَحَدًا اِلَّا اللّٰہَ

and feared none but Allah

فَمِنۡہُمۡ ظَالِمٌ لِّنَفۡسِہٖ ۚ وَمِنۡہُمۡ مُّقۡتَصِدٌ ۚ وَمِنۡہُمۡ سَابِقٌۢ بِالۡخَیۡرٰتِ

And of them are some who are breaking down their own selves by suppressing their desires, and of them are some who keep to the right course, and of them are some who excel others in acts of goodness

کَاَنّہُمۡ بُنۡیَانٌ مَّرۡصُوۡصٌ

s though they were a strong structure cemented with molten lead.

کُلٌّ یَّعۡمَلُ عَلٰی شَاکِلَتِہٖ

Everyone acts according to his own way

اَعۡطٰی کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ خَلۡقَہٗ ثُمَّ ہَدٰی

Who gave unto everything its proper form and then guided it to its proper function.’

کَتَبَ رَبُّکُمۡ عَلٰی نَفۡسِہِ الرَّحۡمَۃَ ۙ اَنَّہٗ مَنۡ عَمِلَ مِنۡکُمۡ سُوۡٓءًۢا بِجَہَالَۃٍ ثُمَّ تَابَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِہٖ وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَنَّہٗ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِیۡمٌ

Your Lord has taken it upon Himself to show mercy, so that whoso among you does evil ignorantly, and repents thereafter and amends, then He is Most Forgiving, Merciful.’

وَمَا کُنَّا مُعَذِّبِیۡنَ حَتّٰی نَبۡعَثَ رَسُوۡلًا

We never punish until We have sent a Messenger.

لَاۤ اُقۡسِمُ بِمَوٰقِعِ النُّجُوۡمِ

لَاۤ اِکۡرَاہَ فِی الدِّیۡنِ

There should be no compulsion in religion.

مَنۡ کَفَرَ بِاللّٰہِ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ اِیۡمَانِہٖۤ

Whoso disbelieves in Allah after he has believed

یَسۡـَٔلُوۡنَکَ

And they ask thee

تَعَالَوۡا اِلٰی کَلِمَۃٍ

come to a word

يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُطۡفِـُٔواْ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَيَأۡبَى ٱللَّهُ إِلَّآ أَن يُتِمَّ نُورَهُۥ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths; but Allah will permit nothing except that He will perfect His light, though the disbelievers may dislike it.

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا

Allah has promised to those among you who believe

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيّٖ مُّبِينٖ

In plain and clear Arabic tongue.

کَزَرۡعٍ اَخۡرَجَ شَطۡـَٔہٗ

like unto a seed-produce that sends forth its sprout

وَالسَّلٰمُ عَلٰی مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الۡہُدٰی

and peace shall be on him who follows the guidance

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

وَٱلَّتِيٓ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا وَٱبۡنَهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And remember her who preserved her chastity; so We breathed into her of Our word and We made her and her son a Sign for peoples.

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ

Verily, this is your people — one people; and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

وَتَقَطَّعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَهُم بَيۡنَهُمۡ ۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيۡنَا رَٰجِعُونَ

But they have become divided among themselves in their affair; and all will return to Us.

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ يَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ

It shall be so even when Gog and Magog are let loose and they shall hasten forth from every height.

وَٱقۡتَرَبَ ٱلۡوَعۡدُ ٱلۡحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَٰخِصَةٌ أَبۡصَٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا قَدۡ كُنَّا فِي غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ هَٰذَا بَلۡ كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

And the true promise draws nigh; then behold, the eyes of those who disbelieve will fixedly stare and they will say, ‘Alas for us! we were indeed heedless of this; nay, we were wrongdoers!’

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَہٗ بِالۡہُدٰی َدِیۡنِ الۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions,

فَاِذَا جَآءَ وَعۡدُ رَبِّیۡ جَعَلَہٗ دَکَّآءَ ۚ وَکَانَ وَعۡدُ رَبِّیۡ حَقًّا

But when the promise of my Lord shall come to pass, He will break it into pieces. And the promise of my Lord is certainly true.’

۞وَتَرَكۡنَا بَعۡضَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَمُوجُ فِي بَعۡضٖ ۖ وَنُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَجَمَعۡنَٰهُمۡ جَمۡعٗا

And on that day We shall leave some of them to surge against others, and the trumpet will be blown. Then shall We gather them all together.

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ

Surely, We sent it down on the Night of Destiny.

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ

And what should make thee know what the Night of Destiny is?

لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٖ

The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months.

تَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمۡرٖ

Therein descend angels and the Spirit by the command of their Lord — with every matter.

سَلَٰمٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطۡلَعِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ

It is all peace till the rising of the dawn.

إِذَا زُلۡزِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ زِلۡزَالَهَا

When the earth is shaken with her violent shaking,

وَأَخۡرَجَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ أَثۡقَالَهَا

And the earth brings forth her burdens,

وَقَالَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا

And man says, ‘What is the matter with her?’

يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُحَدِّثُ أَخۡبَارَهَا

That day will she tell her news,

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوۡحَىٰ لَهَا

For thy Lord will have revealed about her.

وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ

And when the earth is spread out,

وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ

And casts out all that is in her, and becomes empty;

إِذَا زُلۡزِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ زِلۡزَالَهَا

When the earth is shaken with her violent shaking,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡ

And when the mountains are blown away,

إِذَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ كُوِّرَتۡ

When the sun is wrapped up,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتۡ

And when the beasts are gathered together,

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتۡ

And when people are brought together,

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتۡ

And when books are spread abroad.

وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ

And when the rivers are made to flow forth into canals,

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ

And when the Messengers are made to appear at the appointed time —

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتۡ

And when people are brought together,

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ

When the heaven is cleft asunder,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ

And when the stars are scattered,

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ

When the heaven bursts asunder,

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ

And when the Messengers are made to appear at the appointed time —

فَسَالَتۡ اَوۡدِیَۃٌۢ بِقَدَرِہَا

so that valleys flow according to their measure,

وَنُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخۡرَىٰ فَإِذَا هُمۡ قِيَامٞ يَنظُرُونَ

And the trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are in the earth will fall down in a swoon, except those whom Allah will please to exempt. Then will it be blown a second time, and lo! they will be standing, awaiting.

اِعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰہَ یُحۡیِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِہَا

Know that Allah is now quickening the earth after its death.

وَلَقَدۡ اٰتَیۡنَا مُوۡسَی الۡکِتٰبَ وَقَفَّیۡنَا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِہٖ بِالرُّسُلِ

And verily, We gave Moses the Book and caused after him Messengers to follow in his footsteps

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولٗا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

ثُمَّ قَفَّیۡنَا عَلٰۤی اٰثَارِہِمۡ بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّیۡنَا بِعِیۡسَی ابۡنِ مَرۡیَمَ وَاٰتَیۡنٰہُ الۡاِنۡجِیۡلَ ۬ۙ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِیۡ قُلُوۡبِ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡہُ رَاۡفَۃً وَّرَحۡمَۃً

Then We caused Our Messengers to follow in their footsteps; and We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow them, and We gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who accepted him compassion and mercy.

وَقَفَّیۡنَا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِہٖ بِالرُّسُلِ

and caused after him Messengers to follow in his footsteps

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ ۪ وَلَیُمَکِّنَنَّ لَہُمۡ دِیۡنَہُمُ الَّذِی ارۡتَضٰی لَہُمۡ وَلَیُبَدِّلَنَّہُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِہِمۡ اَمۡنًا ؕ یَعۡبُدُوۡنَنِیۡ لَا یُشۡرِکُوۡنَ بِیۡ شَیۡئًا

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me.

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A large party from among the early Muslims,

وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

And a large party from the later ones.

قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ اَبۡنَآءَہُمۡ وَنَسۡتَحۡیٖ نِسَآءَہُمۡ ۚ وَاِنَّا فَوۡقَہُمۡ قٰہِرُوۡنَ

He answered, ‘We will ruthlessly slay their sons and let their women live. And surely we are dominant over them.’

قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِ ٱسۡتَعِينُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱصۡبِرُوٓاْ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ وَٱلۡعَٰقِبَةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ

Moses said to his people, ‘Seek help from Allah and be steadfast. Verily, the earth is Allah’s ; He gives it as a heritage to whomsoever He pleases of His servants, and the end is for the God-fearing.’

قَالُوٓاْ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبۡلِ أَن تَأۡتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جِئۡتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُهۡلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمۡ وَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيۡفَ تَعۡمَلُونَ

They replied, ‘We were persecuted before thou camest to us and even after thou camest to us.’ He said, ‘Your Lord is about to destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, that He may then see how you act.’

يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ ٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتِيَ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَنۡعَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَأَوۡفُواْ بِعَهۡدِيٓ أُوفِ بِعَهۡدِكُمۡ وَإِيَّـٰيَ فَٱرۡهَبُونِ

O children of Israel! remember My favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil your covenant with Me, I will fulfil My covenant with you, and Me alone should you fear.

وَإِذۡ نَجَّيۡنَٰكُم مِّنۡ ءَالِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ يَسُومُونَكُمۡ سُوٓءَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُونَ أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ وَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمۡ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ عَظِيمٞ

And remember the time when We delivered you from Pharaoh’s people who afflicted you with grievous torment, slaying your sons and sparing your women; and in that there was a great trial for you from your Lord.

وَإِذۡ فَرَقۡنَا بِكُمُ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ فَأَنجَيۡنَٰكُمۡ وَأَغۡرَقۡنَآ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَأَنتُمۡ تَنظُرُونَ

And remember the time when We divided the sea for you and saved you and drowned Pharaoh’s people, while you looked on.

وَإِذۡ قُلۡتُمۡ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نُّؤۡمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى ٱللَّهَ جَهۡرَةٗ فَأَخَذَتۡكُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمۡ تَنظُرُونَ

And remember when you said: ‘O Moses, we will by no means believe thee until we see Allah face to face;’ then the thunderbolt overtook you, while you gazed.

ثُمَّ بَعَثۡنَٰكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَوۡتِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ

Then We raised you up after your death, that you might be grateful.

وَظَلَّلۡنَا عَلَیۡکُمُ الۡغَمَامَ وَاَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَیۡکُمُ الۡمَنَّ وَالسَّلۡوٰی

And We caused the clouds to be a shade over you and sent down on you Manna and Salwa

لَنۡ نَّصۡبِرَ عَلٰ طَعَامٍ وَّاحِدٍ

O Moses, surely, we will not remain content with one kind of food;

لَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَۃٌ وِّزۡرَ اُخۡرٰی

no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another

وَإِذۡ قُلۡتُمۡ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نُّؤۡمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى ٱللَّهَ جَهۡرَةٗ فَأَخَذَتۡكُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمۡ تَنظُرُونَ

And remember when you said: ‘O Moses, we will by no means believe thee until we see Allah face to face;’ then the thunderbolt overtook you, while you gazed.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them;

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them;

فَمَنۡ کَانَ مِنۡکُمۡ مَّرِیۡضًا اَوۡ عَلٰی سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّۃٌ مِّنۡ اَیَّامٍ اُخَرَ

but whoso among you is sick or is on a journey shall fast the same number of other days

ذٰلِکَ یُوۡعَظُ بِہٖ مَنۡ کَانَ مِنۡکُمۡ یُؤۡمِنُ بِاللّٰہِ وَالۡیَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ

This is an admonition for him among you who believes in Allah and the Last Day.

وَالَّذِیۡنَ یُتَوَفَّوۡنَ مِنۡکُمۡ وَیَذَرُوۡنَ اَزۡوَاجًا

And those of you who die and leave wives behind,

وَلۡتَکُنۡ مِّنۡکُمۡ اُمَّۃٌ یَّدۡعُوۡنَ اِلَی الۡخَیۡرِ وَیَاۡمُرُوۡنَ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ وَیَنۡہَوۡنَ عَنِ الۡمُنۡکَرِ

And let there be among you a body of men who should invite to goodness, and enjoin equity and forbid evil

اَنِّیۡ لَاۤ اُضِیۡعُ عَمَلَ عَامِلٍ مِّنۡکُمۡ مِّنۡ ذَکَرٍ اَوۡ اُنۡثٰی

‘I will allow not the work of any worker from among you, whether male or female, to be lost.

لَا تَاۡکُلُوۡۤا اَمۡوَالَکُمۡ بَیۡنَکُمۡ بِالۡبَاطِلِ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ تَکُوۡنَ تِجَارَۃً عَنۡ تَرَاضٍ مِّنۡکُمۡ

devour not your property among yourselves by unlawful means, except that you earn by trade with mutual consent.

وَاِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ مَّرۡضٰۤی اَوۡ عَلٰی سَفَرٍ اَوۡ جَآءَ اَحَدٌ مِّنۡکُمۡ مِّنَ الۡغَآئِطِ اَوۡ لٰمَسۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَلَمۡ تَجِدُوۡا مَآءً فَتَیَمَّمُوۡا صَعِیۡدًا طَیِّبًا

if you are ill or you are on a journey while unclean, or one of you comes from the privy or you have touched women, and you find not water, betake yourselves to pure dust and wipe therewith your faces and your hands.

فَمَا جَزَآءُ مَنۡ یَّفۡعَلُ ذٰلِکَ مِنۡکُمۡ اِلَّا خِزۡیٌ فِی الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا ۚ وَیَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ یُرَدُّوۡنَ اِلٰۤی اَشَدِّ الۡعَذَابِ

There is, therefore, no reward for such among you as do this, except disgrace in the present life; and on the Day of Judgment they shall be driven to a most severe chastisement;

اَطِیۡعُوا اللّٰہَ وَاَطِیۡعُوا الرَّسُوۡلَ وَاُولِی الۡاَمۡرِ مِنۡکُمۡ

obey Allah, and obey His Messenger and those who are in authority among you

مَنۡ عَمِلَ مِنۡکُمۡ سُوۡٓءًۢا بِجَہَالَۃٍ ثُمَّ تَابَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِہٖ وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَنَّہٗ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِیۡمٌ

so that whoso among you does evil ignorantly, and repents thereafter and amends, then He is Most Forgiving, Merciful.’

وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِينَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَـٔۡخِرِينَ

And We do know those who go ahead among you and We do know those who lag behind.

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡکُمۡ اِلَّا وَارِدُہَا

And there is not one of you but will come to it.

وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them

قَالَ ٱللَّهُ إِنِّي مُنَزِّلُهَا عَلَيۡكُمۡ ۖ فَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بَعۡدُ مِنكُمۡ فَإِنِّيٓ أُعَذِّبُهُۥ عَذَابٗا لَّآ أُعَذِّبُهُۥٓ أَحَدٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Allah said, ‘Surely, I will send it down to you, but whosoever of you disbelieves afterwards — I will surely punish them with a punishment wherewith I will not punish any other of the peoples.’

وَمَنۡ کَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذٰلِکَ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الۡفٰسِقُوۡنَ

Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious.

لَہُمُ الۡبُشۡرٰی فِی الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا

For them are glad tidings in the present life

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A large party from among the early Muslims,

وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

And a large party from the later ones.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ ۪ وَلَیُمَکِّنَنَّ لَہُمۡ دِیۡنَہُمُ الَّذِی ارۡتَضٰی لَہُمۡ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡ بَعَثَ فِی الۡاُمِّیّٖنَ رَسُوۡلًا مِّنۡہُمۡ یَتۡلُوۡا عَلَیۡہِمۡ اٰیٰتِہٖ وَیُزَکِّیۡہِمۡ وَیُعَلِّمُہُمُ الۡکِتٰبَ وَالۡحِکۡمَۃَ

He it is Who has raised among the Unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves who recites unto them His Signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom,

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنَُمۡ وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ نِعۡمَتِیۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

وَلَیُبَدِّلَنَّہُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِہِمۡ اَمۡنًا ؕ یَعۡبُدُوۡنَنِیۡ لَا یُشۡرِکُوۡنَ بِیۡ شَیۡئًا ؕ وَمَنۡ کَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذٰلِکَ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الۡفٰسِقُوۡنَ

exchange security and peace after their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me. Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious.

وَلَقَدۡ اٰتَیۡنَا مُوۡسَی الۡکِتٰبَ وَقَفَّیۡنَا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِہٖ بِالرُّسُلِ

And verily, We gave Moses the Book and caused after him Messengers to follow in his footsteps

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you

ثُمَّ اَرۡسَلۡنَا

Then We sent Our Messengers

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

But they who will disbelieve and treat Our Signs as lies, these shall be the inmates of the Fire; therein shall they abide.

رُسُلَنَا تَتۡرَا

Messengers one after another

وَرُسُلًا قَدۡ قَصَصۡنٰہُمۡ عَلَیۡکَ مِنۡ َبۡلُ وَرُسُلًا لَّمۡ نَقۡصُصۡہُمۡ عَلَیۡکَ

And We sent some Messengers whom We have already mentioned to thee and some Messengers whom We have not mentioned to thee

رُّسُلٗا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةُۢ بَعۡدَ ٱلرُّسُلِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا

Messengers, bearers of glad tidings and warners, so that people may have no plea against Allah after the coming of the Messengers. And Allah is Mighty, Wise.

وَمَنۡ کَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذٰلِکَ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الۡفٰسِقُوۡنَ

Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious

وَکُوۡنُوۡا مَعَ الصّٰدِقِیۡنَ

and be with the truthful.

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأۡتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجۡرِمٗا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

Verily, he who comes to his Lord a sinner — for him is Hell; he shall neither die therein nor live.

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

یُعَلِّمُہُمُ الۡکِتٰبَ وَالۡحِکۡمَۃَ

teaches them the Book and wisdom

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

بَلۡ ہُوَ اٰیٰتٌۢ بَیِّنٰتٌ فِیۡ صُدُوۡرِ الَّذِیۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡعِلۡمَ

Nay, it is a collection of clear Signs in the hearts of those who are given knowledge

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

وَاَمَّا مَا یَنۡفَعُ النَّاسَ فَیَمۡکُثُ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ

but as to that which benefits men, it stays on the earth

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

وَلَا یَزَالُ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا تُصِیۡبُہُمۡ بِمَا صَنَعُوۡا قَارِعَۃٌ اَوۡ تَحُلُّ قَرِیۡبًا مِّنۡ دَارِہِمۡ حَتّٰی یَاۡتِیَ وَعۡدُ اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یُخۡلِفُ الۡمِیۡعَادَ

And as for those who disbelieve, disaster shall not cease to befall them for what they have wrought or to alight near their home, until the promise of Allah comes to pass. Surely, Allah fails not in His promise.

وَمَا کُنَّا مُعَذِّبِیۡنَ حَتّٰی نَبۡعَثَ رَسُوۡلً

We never punish until We have sent a Messenger.

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them;

وَالَّذِیۡنَ جَاہَدُوۡا فِیۡنَا لَنَہۡدِیَنَّہُمۡ سُبُلَنَا

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

وَلَقَدۡ كَتَبۡنَا فِي ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلذِّكۡرِ أَنَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ

And already have We written in the Book of David, after the exhortation, that My righteous servants shall inherit the land.

کُنۡتُمۡ خَیۡرَ اُمَّۃٍ اُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind

وَکَانَ فَضۡلُ اللّٰہِ عَلَیۡکَ عَظِیۡمًا

and great is Allah’s grace on thee.

ضُرِبَتۡ عَلَیۡہِمُ الذِّلَّۃُ وَالۡمَسۡکَنَۃُ

they were smitten with abasement and destitution

مِّنۡ کُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنۡسِلُوۡنَ

they shall hasten forth from every height

مِّنۡ کُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنۡسِلُوۡنَ

they shall hasten forth from every height

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them;

وَلٰکنۡ رَّسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِیّٖنَ

but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets

مِّنۡ کُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنۡسِلُوۡنَ

they shall hasten forth from every height

کَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلٰی فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُوۡلًا ؕ۱

even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

وَّجِئۡنَا بِکَ عَلٰی ہٰۤؤُلَآءِ شَہِیۡدًا

and shall bring thee as a witness against these!

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

مِّنۡ کُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنۡسِلُوۡنَ

they shall hasten forth from every height.

مِّنۡ کُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنۡسِلُوۡنَ

they shall hasten forth from every height.

اٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them
