فَقَالُوۡۤا اِنَّاۤ اِلَیۡکُمۡ مُّرۡسَلُوۡنَ

and they said, ‘Verily we have been sent to you as Messengers.’

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ

Therein are lasting commandments.

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

فَلَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

and He reveals not His secrets to any one,

اِلَّا مَنِ ارۡتَضٰی مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّخَذُو الۡعِجۡلَ سَیَنَالُہُمۡ غَضَبٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّہِمۡ

As to those who took the calf for worship, wrath from their Lord shall overtake them

وَٱلَّذِينَ عَمِلُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهَا وَءَامَنُوٓاْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهَا لَغَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

But those who did evil deeds and repented after that and believed, surely thy Lord is thereafter Most Forgiving, Merciful.

وَذِلَّۃٌ فِی الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا ؕ وَکَذٰلِکَ نَجۡزِی الۡمُفۡتَرِیۡنَ

and abasement in the present life. And thus do We reward those who invent lies.

وَلَمَّا فَصَلَتِ ٱلۡعِيرُ قَالَ أَبُوهُمۡ إِنِّي لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ ۖ لَوۡلَآ أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ

And when the caravan departed, their father said, ‘Surely, I feel the scent of Joseph, even though you take me to be a dotard.’

وَاِنۡ یَّکُ صَادِقًا یُّصِبۡکُمۡ بَعۡضُ الَّذِیۡ یَعِدُکُمۡ

But if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you.

لَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَیۡسَ لَکَ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ

follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge

یَکۡتُمُ اِیۡمَانَہٗۤ

concealed his faith

جَزٰٓؤُا سَیِّئَۃٍ سَیِّئَۃٌ مِّثۡلُہَا ۚ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَجۡرُہٗ عَلَی اللّٰہِ

The recompense of an injury is an injury the like thereof; but whoso forgives and his act brings about reformation, his reward is with Allah.

لَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَۃٌ وِّزۡرَ اُخۡرٰی

no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

And thou, O soul at peace!

ارۡجِعِیۡۤ اِلٰی رَبِّکِ

Return to thy Lord

رَاضِیَۃً مَّرۡضِیَّۃً

well pleased with Him and He well pleased with thee

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

بَلَىٰ ۚ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Nay, whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve.

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

مَنۡ کَانَ فِیۡ ہٰذِہٖۤ اَعۡمٰی فَہُوَ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ اَعۡمٰی وَاَضَلُّ سَبِیۡلًا

whoso is blind in this world will be blind in the Hereafter, and even more astray from the way.

لَنۡ تَنَالُوا الۡبِرَّ حَتّٰی تُنۡفِقُوۡا مِمَّا تُحِبُّوۡنَ

Never shall you attain to righteousness unless you spend out of that which you love

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ وَرَافِعُکَ اِلَیَّ

‘O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself

اِعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰہَ یُحۡیِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِہَا

Know that Allah is now quickening the earth after its death.

وَاَکۡثَرُہُمۡ فٰسِقُوۡنَ

and most of them are perfidious.

وَالَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اَشَدُّ حُبًّا لِّلّٰہِ

But those who believe are stronger in their love for Allah

فَاذۡکُرُوا اللّٰہَ کَذِکۡرِکُمۡ اٰبَآءَکُمۡ اَوۡ اَشَدَّ ذِکۡرًا

celebrate the praises of Allah as you celebrated the praises of your fathers, or even more than that

قُلۡ اِنَّ صَلَاتِیۡ وَنُسُکِیۡ وَمَحۡیَایَ

Say, ‘My Prayer and my sacrifice and my life

وَمَمَاتِیۡ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ

and my death are all for Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples.

وَيُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِينٗا وَيَتِيمٗا وَأَسِيرًا

And they feed, for love of Him, the poor, the orphan, and the prisoner,

إِنَّمَا نُطۡعِمُكُمۡ لِوَجۡهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمۡ جَزَآءٗ وَلَا شُكُورًا

Saying, ‘We feed you for Allah’s pleasure only. We desire no reward nor thanks from you.

وَتَوَاصَوۡا بِالۡمَرۡحَمَۃِ

and exhort one another to mercy.

تَوَاصَوۡا بِالۡحَقِّ

and exhort one another to accept truth

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَاۡمُرُ بِالۡعَدۡلِ وَالۡاِحۡسَانِ وَاِیۡتَآیِٔ ذِی الۡقُرۡبٰی

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred

قُلۡ یٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّاسُ اِنِّیۡ رَسُوۡلُ اللّٰہِ اِلَیۡکُمۡ جَمِیۡعَا

Say, ‘O mankind! truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah.'

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples.

قُلۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تُحِبُّوۡنَ اللّٰہَ فَاتَّبِعُۡنِیۡ یُحۡبِبۡکُمُ اللّٰہُ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you
