لَّنۡ یُّصِیۡبَنَاۤ اِلَّا مَا کَتَبَ اللّٰہُ لَنَا ۚ ہُوَ مَوۡلٰٮنَا ۚ وَعَلَی اللّٰہِ فَلۡیَتَوَکَّلِ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ

‘Nothing shall befall us save that which Allah has ordained for us. He is our Protector. And in Allah then should the believers put their trust.’

کَتَبَ اللّٰہُ لَاَغۡلِبَنَّ اَنَا وَرُسُلِیۡ

Allah has decreed: ‘Most surely I will prevail, I and My Messengers.’

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡیَۃٍ اِلَّا نَحۡنُ مُہۡلِکُوۡہَا قَبۡلَ یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ اَوۡ مُعَذِّبُوۡہَا

There is not a township but We shall destroy it before the Day of Resurrection, or punish it

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them

وَّاٰوَیۡنٰہُماۤ اِلٰی رَبۡوَۃٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَّمَعِیۡنٍ

and gave both of them refuge on an elevated land of green valleys and springs of running water

وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّکُمۡ بِشَیۡءٍ مِّنَ الۡخَوۡفِ وَالۡجُوۡعِ

And We will try you with something of fear and hunger

ادۡعُوۡنِیۡۤ اَسۡتَجِبۡ لَکُمۡ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

وَإِن مِّنكُمۡ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتۡمٗا مَّقۡضِيّٗا

And there is not one of you but will come to it. This is a fixed decree with thy Lord.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

الطَّیِّبٰتُ لِلطَّیِّبِیۡنَ

good things are for good men

تَوَاصَوۡا بِالۡمَرۡحَمَۃِ

exhort one another to mercy

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَاۡمُرُ بِالۡعَدۡلِ وَالۡاِحۡسَانِ وَاِیۡتَآیِٔ ذِی الۡقُرۡبٰی

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred

وَجَزٰٓؤُا سَیِّئَۃٍ َیِّئَۃٌ مِّثۡلُہَا ۚ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَجۡرُہٗ عَلَی اللّٰہِ

And the recompense of an injury is an injury the like thereof; but whoso forgives and his act brings about reformation, his reward is with Allah

یُسَبِّحُ لِلّٰہِ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth glorifies Allah

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡ شَیۡءٍ اِلَّا یُسَبِّحُ بِحَمۡدِہٖ

and there is not a thing but glorifies Him with His praise

یُسَبِّحُ لِلّٰہِ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth glorifies Allah

وَاللّٰہُ غَالِبٌ عَلٰۤی اَمۡرِہٖ وَلٰکِنَّ اَکۡثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا یَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

And Allah has full power over His decree, but most men know it not.

إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيۡـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Verily His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, ‘Be!,’ and it is.

لَہٗ مُلۡکُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ

His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Gracious, the Merciful,

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

وَحَمَلَہَا الۡاِنۡسَانُ

But man bore it

رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ

Lord of all the worlds

یَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ فُرۡقَانًا

He will grant you a distinction

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

وَلَا الضَّآلِّیۡنَ

and those who have not gone astray.

وَلِنَجۡعَلَہٗۤ اٰیَۃً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحۡمَۃً مِّنَّا ۚ وَکَانَ اَمۡرًا مَّقۡضِیًّا

and We shall do so that We may make him a Sign unto men, and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing decreed.

فَأَتَتۡ بِهِۦ قَوۡمَهَا تَحۡمِلُهُۥ ۖ قَالُواْ يَٰمَرۡيَمُ لَقَدۡ جِئۡتِ شَيۡـٔٗا فَرِيّٗا

Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, ‘O Mary, thou hast brought forth a strange thing.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

ذٰلِکَ فَضۡلُ اللّٰہِ یُؤۡتِیۡہِ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ

That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it upon whomsoever He pleases

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

اِلَّا مَنِ ارۡتَضٰی مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

فَلَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

He reveals not His secrets to any one,

کُلُّ حِزۡبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَیۡہِمۡ فَرِحُوۡنَ

each group rejoicing in what they have

مَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

those who have incurred Thy displeasure

لَاۤ اِکۡرَاہَ فِی الدِّیۡنِ

There should be no compulsion in religion.

حَتّٰی یُعۡطُوا الۡجِزۡیَۃَ عَنۡ ‌یَّدٍ وَّہُمۡ صٰغِرُوۡنَ

until they pay the tax with their own hand and acknowledge their subjection

أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ ظُلِمُواْ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ نَصۡرِهِمۡ لَقَدِيرٌ

Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged — and Allah indeed has power to help them —

وَّاٰوَیۡنٰہُمَا اِلٰی رَبۡوَۃٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَّمَعِیۡنٍ

and gave them refuge on an elevated land of green valleys and springs of running water

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

قُلۡ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

Say, ‘O ye disbelievers!

لَآ أَعۡبُدُ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ

‘I worship not that which you worship;

وَلَا الضَّآلِّیۡنَ

and those who have not gone astray.

تَکَادُ السَّمٰوٰتُ یَتَفَطَّرۡنَ مِنۡہُ

The heavens might well-nigh burst thereat

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One;

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

‘Allah, the Independent and Besought of all.

لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ

‘He begets not, nor is He begotten;

وَاسۡتَعِیۡنُوۡا بِالصَّبۡرِ وَالصَّلٰوۃِ

And seek help with patience and Prayer

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأۡتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجۡرِمٗا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

Verily, he who comes to his Lord a sinner — for him is Hell; he shall neither die therein nor live.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِيِّ ۚ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا

Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! you also should invoke blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace.

فَبَدَّلَ الَّذِیۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا قَوۡلًا غَیۡرَ الَّذِیۡ قِیۡلَ لَہُمۡ فَاَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَی الَّذِیۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا رِجۡزًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ

The transgressors changed it for a word other than that which was said to them. So We sent down upon the transgressors a punishment from heaven

اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ یَفۡتَرُوۡنَ عَلَی اللّٰہِ الۡکَذِبَ لَا یُفۡلِحُوۡنَ

Surely, those who forge a lie against Allah do not prosper.

وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَنِ افۡتَرٰی

and surely, he who forges a lie shall perish

وَاِنۡ یَّکُ کَاذِبًا فَعَلَیۡہِ کَذِبُہٗ

And if he be a liar, on him will be the sin of his lie

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

وَاِنۡ یَّکُ کَاذِبًا فَعَلَیۡہِ کَذِبُہٗ ۚ وَاِنۡ یَّکُ صَادِقًا یُّصِبۡکُمۡ بَعۡضُ الَّذِیۡ یَعِدُکُمۡ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یَہۡدِیۡ مَنۡ ہُوَ مُسۡرِفٌ کَذَّابٌ

And if he be a liar, on him will be the sin of his lie; but if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you. Certainly Allah guides not one who is a transgressor, and a liar.

رَبِّ لَا تَذَرۡنِیۡ فَرۡدًا وَّاَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡوٰرِثِیۡنَ

My Lord, leave me not childless, and Thou art the Best of inheritors.

اِنۡ یَّکُ کَاذِبًا فَعَلَیۡہِ کَذِبُہٗ

if he be a liar, on him will be the sin of his lie

رَبَّنَا افۡتَحۡ بَیۡنَنَا وَبَیۡنَ قَوۡمِنَا بِالۡحَقِّ وَاَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡفٰتِحِیۡنَ

O our Lord, decide Thou between us and between our people with truth, and Thou art the Best of those who decide.

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَہٗ بِالۡہُدٰی وَدِیۡنِ الۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions.

اِنَّ الۡمُنٰفِقِیۡنَ فِی الدَّرۡکِ الۡاَسۡفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ

The hypocrites shall surely be in the lowest depth of the Fire

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

those who have not incurred Thy displeasure

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

وَبِكُفۡرِهِمۡ وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ عَلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ بُهۡتَٰنًا عَظِيمٗا

And because of their disbelief and their uttering against Mary a grievous calumny,

وَّقَوۡلِہِمۡ اِنَّا قَتَلۡنَا الۡمَسِیۡحَ عِیۡسَی ابۡنَ مَرۡیَمَ رَسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ ۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوۡہُ وَمَا

And their saying, ‘We did kill the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah;’ whereas they slew him not, nor

صَلَبُوۡہُ وَلٰکِنۡ شُبِّہَ لَہُمۡ

nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified

مَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

تِلۡكَ إِذٗا قِسۡمَةٞ ضِيزَىٰٓ

That indeed is an unfair division.

وَّاٰوَیۡنٰہُمَا اِلٰی رَبۡوَۃٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَّمَعِیۡنٍ

and gave them refuge on an elevated land of green valleys and springs of running water

مَثَلًا لِّبَنِیۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِیۡلَ

an example for the children of Israel

اِنَّہٗ لَعِلۡمٌ لِّلسَّاعَۃِ

verily, he was a sign of the Hour

ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ

The Hour has drawn nigh, and the moon is rent asunder.

اِنَّہٗ لَعِلۡمٌ لِّلسَّاعَۃِ فَلَا تَمۡتَرُنَّ بِہَا

Verily, he was a sign of the Hour. So have no doubt about it.

مَثَلًا لِّبَنِیۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِیۡلَ

an example for the children of Israel

لَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَیۡسَ لَکَ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ

follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge

اِلَّاۤ اِذَا تَمَنّٰۤی اَلۡقَی الشَّیۡطٰنُ فِیۡۤ اُمۡنِیَّتِہٖ

but when he sought to attain what he aimed at, Satan put obstacles in the way of what he sought after

اِنَّ اظَّنَّ لَا یُغۡنِیۡ مِنَ

Surely, conjecture avails nothing

مِنَ الۡحَقِّ شَیۡئًا

against truth

فَبِاَیّ حَدِیۡثٍۭ بَعۡدَ اللّٰہِ وَاٰیٰتِہٖ یُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ

In what word, then, after rejecting that of Allah and His Signs will they believe?

قُلۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تُحِبُّوۡنَ اللّٰہَ فَاتَّبِعُۡنِیۡ یُحۡبِبۡکُمُ اللّٰہُ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you

مَا کَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ اَبَاۤ اَحَدٍ مِّنۡ رِّجَالِکُمۡ وَلٰکنۡ رَّسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِیّٖنَ

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets

إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلۡأَبۡتَرُ

Surely, it is thy enemy who is without issue.

وَالۡقَمَرَ قَدَّرۡنٰہُ مَنَازِلَ

And for the moon We have appointed stages

لَا تُلۡقُوۡا بِاَیۡدِیۡکُمۡ اِلَی التَّہۡلُکَۃِ

cast not yourselves into ruin with your own hands

قُلۡ لَّنۡ یُّصِیۡبَنَاۤ اِلَّا مَا کَتَبَ الّٰہُ لَنَا

Say, ‘Nothing shall befall us save that which Allah has ordained for us.

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡیَۃٍ اِلَّا نَحۡنُ مُہۡلِکُوۡہَا قَبۡلَ یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ اَوۡ مُعَذِّبُوۡہَا عَذَابًا شَدِیۡدًا

There is not a township but We shall destroy it before the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with a severe punishment.

اِذۡ قَالَ اللّٰہُ یٰعِیۡسَی ابۡنَ مَرۡیَمَ ءَاَنۡتَ قُلۡتَ لِلنَّاسِ

And when Allah will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary, didst thou say to men

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

لَاۤ اِکۡرَاہَ فِی الدِّیۡنِ

There should be no compulsion in religion.

فَسۡـَٔلُوۡۤا اَہۡلَ الذِّکۡرِ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

So ask those who possess the Reminder, if you know not.

فَاذۡکُرُوا اللّٰہَ کَذِکۡرِکُمۡ اٰبَآءَکُمۡ

celebrate the praises of Allah as you celebrated the praises of your fathers

اَللّٰہُ نُوۡرُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

قَالَ اِنَّہٗ صَرۡحٌ مُّمَرَّدٌ مِّنۡ قَوَارِیۡرَ

Solomon said, ‘It is a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass.’

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ

By the cloud which gives rain after rain,

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنَ الۡمَآءِ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ حَیٍّ

And We made from water every living thing.

وَحَمَلۡنٰہُمۡ فِی الۡبَرِّ وَالۡبَحۡرِ

and carried them by land and sea

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

لَا تَسۡجُدُوۡا لِلشَّمۡسِ وَلَا لِلۡقَمَرِ وَاسۡجُدُوۡا لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ خَلَقَہُنَّ

Prostrate not yourselves before the sun, nor before the moon, but prostrate yourselves before Allah, Who created them

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ

Therein are lasting commandments.

یَتۡلُوۡا صُحُفًا مُّطَہَّرَۃً

reciting unto them the pure Scriptures

وَجَزٰٓؤُا سَیِّئَۃٍ َیِّئَۃٌ مِّثۡلُہَا ۚ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَجۡرُہٗ عَلَی اللّٰہِ

قُلۡ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِیَۡ یَغُضُّوۡا مِنۡ اَبۡصَارِہِمۡ وَیَحۡفَظُوۡا فُرُوۡجَہُمۡ ؕ ذٰلِکَ اَزۡکٰی لَہُمۡ

Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts. That is purer for them.

وَقُلۡ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنٰتِ یَغۡضُضۡنَ مِنۡ اَبۡصَارِہِنَّ وَیَحۡفَظۡنَ فُرُوۡجَہُنَّ

And say to the believing women that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts

مَنۡ کَانَ فِیۡ ہٰذِہٖۤ اَعۡمٰی فَہُوَ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ اَعۡمٰی

whoso is blind in this world will be blind in the Hereafter

اَیۡنَمَا تُوَلُّوۡا فَثَمَّ وَجۡہُ اللّٰہِ

withersoever you turn, there will be the face of Allah

وَاِذَا سَاَلَکَ عِبَادِیۡ عَنِّیۡ فَاِنِّیۡ قَرِیۡبٌ ؕ اُجِیۡبُ دَعۡوَۃَ الدَّاعِ اِذَا دَعَانِ

And when My servants ask thee about Me, say: ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me.

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.

لِیُقَرِّبُوۡنَاۤ اِلَی اللّٰہِ زُلۡفٰی

We serve them only that they may bring us near to Allah in station.

مَنۡ ذَا الَّذِیۡ یَشۡفَعُ عِنۡدَہٗۤ اِلَّا بِاِذۡنِہٖ

Who is he that will intercede with Him except by His permission?

اَللّٰہُ نُوۡرُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth

مَنۡ کَانَ فِیۡ ہٰذِہٖۤ اَعۡمٰی فَہُوَ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ اَعۡمٰی

whoso is blind in this world will be blind in the Hereafter

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.
