ادۡعُوۡنِیۡۤ اَسۡتَجِبۡ لَکُمۡ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

وَاللّٰہُ مُتِمُّ نُوۡرِہٖ وَلَوۡ کَرِہَ الۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ

But Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

لَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

e reveals not His secrets to any one,

اِلَّا مَنِ ارۡتَضٰی مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

لَنۡ یَّنَالَ اللّٰہَ لُحُوۡمُہَا وَلَا دِمَآؤُہَا وَلٰکِنۡ یَّنَالُہُ التَّقۡوٰی مِنۡکُمۡ ؕ

Their flesh reaches not Allah, nor does their blood, but it is your righteousness that reaches Him.

وَظَنُّوۡۤا اَنَّہُمۡ قَدۡ کُذِبُوۡا

And they (the disbelievers) thought that they had been told a lie.

مَنۡ کَانَ فِیۡ ہٰذِہٖۤ اَعۡمٰی فَہُوَ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ اَعۡمٰی

whoso is blind in this world will be blind in the Hereafter

مَنۡ کَانَ یَرۡجُوۡا لِقَآءَ رَبِّہٖ فَلۡیَعۡمَلۡ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَّلَا یُشۡرِکۡ بِعِبَادَۃِ رَبِّہٖۤ اَحَدًا

Let him who hopes to meet his Lord do good deeds, and let him join no one in the worship of his Lord.

قُلۡ ہُوَ اللّٰہُ اَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One.

اَللّٰہُ الصَّمَدُ

Allah, the Independent and Besought of all.

لَمۡ یَلِدۡ ۬ۙ وَلَمۡ یُوۡلَدۡ

He begets not, nor is He begotten.

وَلَمۡ یَکُنۡ لَّہٗ کُفُوًا اَحَدٌ

And there is none like unto Him.

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَاۡمُرُ بِالۡعَدۡلِ وَالۡاِحۡسَانِ وَاِیۡتَآیِٔ ذِی الۡقُرۡبٰی وَیَنۡہٰی عَنِ الۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَالۡمُنۡکَرِ وَالۡبَغۡیِ

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred; and forbids indecency, and manifest evil, and wrongful transgression.

وَیُطۡعِمُوۡنَ الطَّعَامَ عَلٰی حُبِّہٖ مِسۡکِیۡنًا وَّیَتِیۡمًا وَّاَسِیۡرًا

And they feed, for love of Him, the poor, the orphan, and the prisoner.

اِنَّمَا نُطۡعِمُکُمۡ لِوَجۡہِ اللّٰہِ لَا نُرِیۡدُ مِنۡکُمۡ جَزَآءً وَّلَا شُکُوۡرًا

Saying, ‘We feed you for Allah’s pleasure only. We desire no reward nor thanks from you.

جَزٰٓؤُا سَیِّئَۃٍ سَیِّئَۃٌ مِّثۡلُہَا ۚ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَجۡرُہٗ عَلَی اللّٰہِ

The recompense of an injury is an injury the like thereof; but whoso forgives and his act brings about reformation, his reward is with Allah.

اِدۡفَعۡ بِالَّتِیۡ ہِیَ اَحۡسَنُ فَاِذَا الَّذِیۡ بَیۡنَکَ وَبَیۡنَہٗ عَدَاوَۃٌ کَاَنَّہٗ وَلِیٌّ حَمِیۡمٌ

Repel evil with that which is best. And lo, he between whom and thyself was enmity will become as though he were a warm friend.

وَلَا یَغۡتَبۡ بَّعۡضُکُمۡ بَعۡضًا ؕ اَیُحِبُّ اَحَدُکُمۡ اَنۡ یَّاۡکُلَ لَحۡمَ اَخِیۡہِ مَیۡتًا

Nor back-bite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his brother who is dead?

لَا یَسۡخَرۡ قَوۡمٌ مِّنۡ قَوۡمٍ عَسٰۤی اَنۡ یَّکُوۡنُوۡا خَیۡرًا مِّنۡہُمۡ

Let not one people deride another people, who may be better than they.

اِنَّ اَکۡرَمَکُمۡ عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ اَتۡقٰکُمۡ

Verily, the most honourable among you, in the sight of Allah, is he who is the most righteous among you.

فَاجۡتَنِبُوا الرِّجۡسَ مِنَ الۡاَوۡثَانِ وَاجۡتَنِبُوۡا قَوۡلَ الزُّوۡرِ

Shun therefore the abomination of idols, and shun all words of untruth.

وَقُوۡلُوۡا قَوۡلًا سَدِیۡدًا

And say the right word.

وَاعۡتَصِمُوۡا بِحَبۡلِ اللّٰہِ جَمِیۡعًا

And hold fast, all together, by the rope of Allah.

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

اَلۡہٰکُمُ التَّکَاثُرُ

Mutual rivalry in seeking worldly increase diverts you from God.

حَتّٰی زُرۡتُمُ الۡمَقَابِرَ

Till you reach the graves.

کَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

Nay! you will soon come to know.

ثُمَّ کَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

Nay again! you will soon come to know.

کَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ عِلۡمَ الۡیَقِیۡنِ

Nay! if you only knew with certain knowledge.

لَتَرَوُنَّ الۡجَحِیۡمَ

You will surely see Hell in this very life.

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّہَا عَیۡنَ الۡیَقِیۡنِ

Aye, you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.

ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ یَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِیۡمِ

Then, on that day you shall be called to account about the worldly favours.

وَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنٰکَ اِلَّا رَحۡمَۃً لِّلۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ

And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples.

وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّہٖ جَنَّتٰنِ

But for him who fears to stand before his Lord there are two Gardens.

اِنَّاۤ اَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ سَلٰسِلَا۠ وَاَغۡلٰلًا وَّسَعِیۡرًا

Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and iron-collars and a blazing Fire.

اِنَّ الۡاَبۡرَارَ یَشۡرَبُوۡنَ مِنۡ کَاۡسٍ کَانَ مِزَاجُہَا کَافُوۡرًا

But the virtuous drink of a cup, tempered with camphor.

عَیۡنًا یَّشۡرَبُ بِہَا عِبَادُ اللّٰہِ یُفَجِّرُوۡنَہَا تَفۡجِیۡرًا

A spring wherefrom the servants of Allah drink. They make it gush forth — a forceful gushing forth.

اِنِّیۡ رَسُوۡلُ اللّٰہِ اِلَیۡکُمۡ جَمِیۡعَا

Truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah.

وَیُسۡقَوۡنَ فِیۡہَا کَاۡسًا کَانَ مِزَاجُہَا زَنۡجَبِیۡلًا

And therein will they be given to drink a cup tempered with ginger.

عَیۡنًا فِیۡہَا تُسَمّٰی سَلۡسَبِیۡلًا

From a spring therein named Salsabil.

قَدۡ اَفۡلَحَ مَنۡ زَکّٰٮہَا

He indeed truly prospers who purifies it.

وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَنۡ دَسّٰٮہَا

And he who corrupts it is ruined.

قَدۡ خَلَتۡ

Verily, ... have passed away.

قُلۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تُحِبُّوۡنَ اللّٰہَ فَاتَّبِعُوۡنِیۡ یُحۡبِبۡکُمُ اللّٰہُ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you.

ادۡعُوۡنِیۡۤ اَسۡتَجِبۡ لَکُمۡ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

وَاِذَا سَاَلَکَ عِبَادِیۡ عَنِّیۡ فَاِنِّیۡ قَرِیۡبٌ ؕ اُجِیۡبُ دَعۡوَۃَ الدَّاعِ اِذَا دَعَانِ ۙ فَلۡیَسۡتَجِیۡبُوۡا لِیۡ وَلۡیُؤۡمِنُوۡا بِیۡ لَعَلَّہُمۡ یَرۡشُدُوۡنَ

And when My servants ask thee about Me, say: ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way.’

وَالَّذِیۡنَ جَاہَدُوۡا فِیۡنَا لَنَہۡدِیَنَّہُمۡ سُبُلَنَا ؕ

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

وَکُوۡنُوۡا مَعَ الصّٰدِقِیۡنَ

And be with the truthful.

نَحۡنُ اَقۡرَبُ اِلَیۡہِ مِنۡ حَبۡلِ الۡوَرِیۡدِ

We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein.

اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ قَالُوۡا رَبُّنَا اللّٰہُ ثُمَّ اسۡتَقَامُوۡا تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَیۡہِمُ الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃُ اَلَّا تَخَافُوۡا وَلَا تَحۡزَنُوۡا وَاَبۡشِرُوۡا بِالۡجَنَّۃِ الَّتِیۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised.

اِہۡدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الۡمُسۡتَقِیۡمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ ۬ۙ غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ وَلَا الضَّآلِّیۡنَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ وَرَافِعُکَ اِلَیَّ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them

وَاِمَّا نُرِیَنَّکَ بَعۡضَ الَّذِیۡ نَعِدُہُمۡ اَوۡ نَتَوَفَّیَنَّکَ

And if We show thee in thy lifetime the fulfilment of some of the things with which We have threatened them, thou wilt know it; or if We cause thee to die

اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّکَ ؕ اِنَّ رَبَّکَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا یُرِیۡدُ

excepting what thy Lord may will. Surely, thy Lord does bring about what He pleases

اُذِنَ لِلَّذِیۡنَ یُقٰتَلُوۡنَ بِاَنَّہُمۡ ظُلِمُوۡا

Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged.

اِدۡفَعۡ بِالَّتِیۡ ہِیَ اَحۡسَنُ

Repel evil with that which is best.

اِنۡ یَّکُ کَاذِبًا فَعَلَیۡہِ کَذِبُہٗ ۚ وَاِنۡ یَّکُ صَادِقًا یُّصِبۡکُمۡ بَعۡضُ الَّذِیۡ یَعِدُکُمۡ

If he be a liar, on him will be the sin of his lie; but if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you.

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe.

یُّصِبۡکُمۡ بَعۡضُ الَّذِیۡ یَعِدُکُمۡ

Some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you.

وَاِنۡ یَّکُ صَادِقًا یُّصِبۡکُمۡ بَعۡضُ الَّذِیۡ یَعِدُکُمۡ

But if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you.

لَّا یَمَسُّہٗۤ اِلَّا الۡمُطَہَّرُوۡنَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

وَلَقَدۡ نَصَرَکُمُ اللّٰہُ بِبَدۡرٍ وَّاَنۡتُمۡ اَذِلَّۃٌ

And Allah had already helped you at Badr when you were weak.

وَّنُفِخَ فِی الصُّوۡرِ فَجَمَعۡنٰہُمۡ جَمۡعًا

And the trumpet will be blown. Then shall We gather them all together.

فَاذۡکُرُوا اللّٰہَ کَذِکۡرِکُمۡ اٰبَآءَکُمۡ اَوۡ اَشَدَّ ذِکۡرًا

celebrate the praises of Allah as you celebrated the praises of your fathers, or even more than that.

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَاۡمُرُ بِالۡعَدۡلِ وَالۡاِحۡسَانِ وَاِیۡتَآیِٔ ذِی الۡقُرۡبٰی

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ وَلَا الضَّآلِّیۡنَ

Those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

وَلَیُبَدِّلَنَّہُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِہِمۡ اَمۡنًا

And that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear.

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَہٗ بِالۡہُدٰی وَدِیۡنِ الۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions.

اِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا الذِّکۡرَ وَاِنَّا لَہٗ لَحٰفِظُوۡنَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

اِہۡدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الۡمُسۡتَقِیۡمَ

Guide us in the right path —

فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا یُرِیۡدُ

Doer of whatever He wills.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ ؕ

But since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them.

اَلَمۡ تَرَ کَیۡفَ ضَرَبَ اللّٰہُ مَثَلًا کَلِمَۃً طَیِّبَۃً کَشَجَرَۃٍ طَیِّبَۃٍ اَصۡلُہَا ثَابِتٌ وَّفَرۡعُہَا فِی السَّمَآءِ

Dost thou not see how Allah sets forth the similitude of a good word? It is like a good tree, whose root is firm and whose branches reach into heaven.

تُؤۡتِیۡۤ اُکُلَہَا کُلَّ حِیۡنٍۭ بِاِذۡنِ رَبِّہَا

It brings forth its fruit at all times by the command of its Lord.

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یُغَیِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتّٰی یُغَیِّرُوۡا مَا بِاَنۡفُسِہِمۡ ؕ

Surely, Allah changes not the condition of a people until they change that which is in their hearts.

یَوۡمَ یَفِرُّ الۡمَرۡءُ مِنۡ اَخِیۡہِ

On the day when a man flees from his brother.

لَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَیۡسَ لَکَ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ ؕ

Follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge.

فَسۡـَٔلُوۡۤا اَہۡلَ الذِّکۡرِ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

So ask those who possess the Reminder, if you know not.

قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّیۡ ہَلۡ کُنۡتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوۡلًا

Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

وَجَدَہَا تَغۡرُبُ فِیۡ عَیۡنٍ حَمِئَۃٍ

He found it setting in a pool of murky water.

شَہِدَ شَاہِدٌ مِّنۡۢ بَنِیۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِیۡلَ

A witness from among the children of Israel bears witness.

کَفٰی بِاللّٰہِ شَہِیۡدًۢا بَیۡنِیۡ وَبَیۡنَکُمۡ ۙ وَمَنۡ عِنۡدَہٗ عِلۡمُ الۡکِتٰبِ

Sufficient is Allah as a Witness between me and you, and so is he who possesses knowledge of the Book.

یَعۡرِفُوۡنَہٗ کَمَا یَعۡرِفُوۡنَ اَبۡنَآءَہُمۡ ؕ

Recognize it even as they recognize their sons.

أَلَمۡ يَجِدۡكَ يَتِيمٗا فَـَٔاوَىٰ

Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter?

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولٗا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

as He made Successors from among those who were before them

فَیَنۡظُرَ کَیۡفَ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ

that He may then see how you act.’

لِنَنۡظُرَ کَیۡفَ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ

that We might see how you would act.

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

those who have not incurred Thy displeasure

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

those who have not incurred Thy displeasure

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

مَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّیۡ ہَلۡ کُنۡتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوۡلًا

Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

مَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

اِنَّکَ مَیِّتٌ

Surely thou wilt die

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ وَلَا الضَّآلِّیۡنَ

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

وَلَنۡ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّۃِ اللّٰہِ تَبۡدِیۡلً

and thou shalt not find any change in the law of Allah

اٰوَیۡنٰہُمَا اِلٰی رَبۡوَۃٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَّمَعِیۡ

we gave them refuge on an elevated land of green valleys and springs of running water.

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولٗا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یُخلِفُ الۡمِیۡعَادَ

surely, Allah breaks not His promise.’

اَطِیۡعُوا اللّٰہَ وَاَطِیۡعُوا الرَّسُوۡلَ

obey Allah, and obey His Messenger

وَلَا تَحۡسَبَنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ قُتِلُوۡا فِیۡ سَبِیۡلِ اللّٰہِ اَمۡوَاتًا ؕ بَلۡ اَحۡیَآءٌ

Think not of those, who have been slain in the cause of Allah, as dead. Nay, they are living

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأۡتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجۡرِمٗا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

Verily, he who comes to his Lord a sinner — for him is Hell; he shall neither die therein nor live.

وَمَنۡ یَّقۡتُلۡ مُؤۡمِنًا مُّتَعَمِّدًا

And whoso kills a believer intentionally

يَٰحَسۡرَةً عَلَى ٱلۡعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

Alas for My servants! there comes not a Messenger to them but they mock at him.

قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّیۡ ہَلۡ کُنۡتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوۡلًا

Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَيۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ

‘Our Lord, let not our hearts become perverse after Thou hast guided us; and bestow on us mercy from Thyself; surely, Thou alone art the Bestower.

اَنۡتَ وَلِیّٖ فِی الدُّنۡیَا وَالۡاٰخِرَۃِ ۚ تَوَفَّنِیۡ مُسۡلِمًا وَّاَلۡحِقۡنِیۡ بِالصّٰلِحِیۡنَ

Thou art my Protector in this world and the Hereafter. Let death come to me in a state of submission to Thy will and join me to the righteous.’

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَيۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ

‘Our Lord, let not our hearts become perverse after Thou hast guided us; and bestow on us mercy from Thyself; surely, Thou alone art the Bestower.

۞رَبِّ قَدۡ ءَاتَيۡتَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُلۡكِ وَعَلَّمۡتَنِي مِن تَأۡوِيلِ ٱلۡأَحَادِيثِ ۚ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَنتَ وَلِيِّۦ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ ۖ تَوَفَّنِي مُسۡلِمٗا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

‘O my Lord, Thou hast bestowed power upon me and taught me the interpretation of dreams. O Maker of the heavens and the earth, Thou art my Protector in this world and the Hereafter. Let death come to me in a state of submission to Thy will and join me to the righteous.’

وَالۡبَلَدُ الطَّیِّبُ یَخۡرُجُ نَبَاتُہٗ بِاِذۡنِ رَبِّہٖ ۚ وَالَّذِیۡ خَبُثَ لَا یَخۡرُجُ اِلَّا نَکِدًا ؕ

And as for the good land, its vegetation comes forth plentifully by the command of its Lord; and that which is bad, its vegetation does not come forth but scantily.

وَاِنَّ یَوۡمًا عِنۡدَ رَبِّکَ کَاَلۡفِ سَنَۃٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّوۡنَ

And verily, a day with thy Lord is as a thousand years of your reckoning.

اِقۡتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَۃُ

The Hour has drawn nigh

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولٗا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

فَیَنۡظُرَ کَیۡفَ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ

that He may then see how you act.’

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرۡتَضَىٰ لَهُمۡ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِهِمۡ أَمۡنٗا ۚ يَعۡبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشۡرِكُونَ بِي شَيۡـٔٗا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me. Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious.

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

those who have not incurred Thy displeasure

بَلۡ رَّفَعَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡہِ

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself

لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَہُمۡ اَبۡوَابُ السَّمَآءِ

the gates of the spiritual firmament will not be opened for them

جَنَّـٰتِ عَدۡنٖ مُّفَتَّحَةٗ لَّهُمُ ٱلۡأَبۡوَٰبُ

Gardens of Eternity, with their gates thrown open to them,

هَٰذَا ذِكۡرٞ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسۡنَ مَـَٔابٖ

This is a reminder. And the righteous will surely have excellent retreat:

مَا لَنَا لَا نَرٰی رِجَالًا کُنَّا نَعُدُّہُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَشۡرَارِ

‘What has happened to us that we see not the men whom we used to reckon among the wicked?

بَلۡ رَّفَعَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡہِ

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself

وَمَا قَتَلُوۡہُ وَمَا صَلَبُوۡہُ وَلٰکِنۡ شُبِّہَ لَہُمۡ

hereas they slew him not, nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified; and those who differ therein are certainly in a state of doubt about it

قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّیۡ ہَلۡ کُنۡتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوۡلًا

Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ وَفِیۡہَا تَمُوۡتُوۡنَ وَمِنۡہَا تُخۡرَجُوۡنَ

Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die, and therefrom shall you be brought forth

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡیَۃٍ اِلَّا نَحۡنُ مُہۡلِکُوۡہَا قَبۡلَ یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ اَوۡ مُعَذِّبُوۡہَا عَذَابًا شَدِیۡدًا

There is not a township but We shall destroy it before the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with a severe punishment.

قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

کَتَبَ اللّٰہُ لَاَغۡلِبَنَّ اَنَا وَرُسُلِیۡ

Allah has decreed: ‘Most surely I will prevail, I and My Messengers.’

وَلَیُمَکِّنَنَّ لَہُمۡ دِیۡنَہُمُ الَّذِی ارۡتَضٰی لَہُمۡ وَلَیُبَدِّلَنَّہُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِہِمۡ اَمۡنًا

and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

کُنۡتُمۡ خَیۡرَ اُمَّۃٍ اُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them

فِیۡہَا تَمُوۡتُوۡنَ

therein shall you die

الٓمٓ

Alif Lam Mim.

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Do men think that they will be left alone because they say, ‘We believe,’ and that they will not be tested?

فِیۡ قُلُوۡبِہِمۡ مَّرَضٌ ۙ فَزَادَہُمُ اللّٰہُ مَرَضًا

In their hearts was a disease, and Allah has increased their disease to them

ہٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ الرَّحۡمٰنُ وَصَدَقَ الۡمُرۡسَلُوۡنَ

This is what the Gracious God had promised, and the Messengers spoke the truth.’

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّیۡ ہَلۡ کُنۡتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوۡلًا

Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

وَجَزٰٓؤُا سَیِّئَۃٍ َیِّئَۃٌ مِّثۡلُہَا ۚ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَجۡرُہٗ عَلَی اللّٰہِ

And the recompense of an injury is an injury the like thereof; but whoso forgives and his act brings about reformation, his reward is with Allah

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

اَلَسۡتُ بِرَبِّکُمۡ ؕ قَالُوۡا بَلٰی

‘Am I not your Lord?’ They say, ‘Yea,

فِطۡرَتَ اللّٰہِ الَّتِیۡ فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَیۡہَا

the nature made by Allah — the nature in which He has created mankind.

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأۡتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجۡرِمٗا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

Verily, he who comes to his Lord a sinner — for him is Hell; he shall neither die therein nor live.

اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّکَ ؕ اِنَّ رَبَّکَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا یُرِیۡدُ

excepting what thy Lord may will. Surely, thy Lord does bring about what He pleases

کُلَّ یَوۡمٍ ہُوَ فِیۡ شَاۡنٍ

Every day He reveals Himself in a different state

فَاذۡکُرُوا اللّٰہَ کَذِکۡرِکُمۡ اٰبَآءَکُمۡ

celebrate the praises of Allah as you celebrated the praises of your fathers

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings

کُنۡتُمۡ خَیۡرَ اُمَّۃٍ اُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind

فَبِہُدٰٮہُمُ اقۡتَدِہۡ

so follow thou their guidance

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

مَا کَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ اَبَاۤ اَحَدٍ مِّنۡ رِّجَالِکُمۡ

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men

لَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

e reveals not His secrets to any one,

اِلَّا مَنِ ارۡتَضٰی مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

وَمَا کُنَّا مُعَذِّبِیۡنَ حَتّٰی نَبۡعَثَ رَسُوۡلًا

We never punish until We have sent a Messenger.

وَمَا کُنَّا مُعَذِّبِیۡنَ حَتّٰی نَبۡعَثَ رَسُوۡلًا

We never punish until We have sent a Messenger.

وَلَا تَایۡـَٔسُوۡا مِنۡ رَّوۡحِ اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنَّہٗ لَا یَایۡـَٔسُ مِنۡ رَّوۡحِ اللّٰہِ اِلَّا الۡقَوۡمُ الۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ

and despair not of the mercy of Allah; for none despairs of Allah’s mercy save the unbelieving people

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

اَنَّ اللّٰہَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ قَدِیۡرٌ

Allah has the power to do all that He wills

وَاِمَّا نُرِیَنَّکَ بَعۡضَ الَّذِیۡ نَعِدُہُمۡ اَوۡ نَتَوَفَّیَنَّکَ

And if We show thee in thy lifetime the fulfilment of some of the things with which We have threatened them, thou wilt know it; or if We cause thee to die

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

ءَاَنۡتَ قُلۡتَ لِلنَّاسِ اتَّخِذُوۡنِیۡ وَاُمِّیَ اِلٰہَیۡنِ

“O Jesus, son of Mary, didst thou say to men, ‘Take me and my mother for two gods

اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تُحِبُّوۡنَ اللّٰہَ فَاتَّبِعُوِۡیۡ یُحۡبِبۡکُمُ اللّٰہُ

‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you

فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ وَفِیۡہَا تَمُوۡتُوۡنَ

‘Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die

قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّیۡ ہَلۡ کُنۡتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوۡلًا

Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

قُلۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ تُحِبُّوۡنَ اللّٰہَ فَاتَبِعُوۡنِیۡ یُحۡبِبۡکُمُ اللّٰہُ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you and forgive you

اجۡتَنِبُوا الرِّجۡسَ مِنَ الۡاَوۡثَانِ وَاجۡتَنِبُوۡا قَوۡلَ الزُّوۡرِ

Shun therefore the abomination of idols, and shun all words of untruth

مَنۡ یَّتَوَکَّلۡ عَلَی اللّٰہِ فَہُوَ حَسۡبُہٗ

he who puts his trust in Allah — He is sufficient for him

مُخۡلِصِیۡنَ لَہُ الدِّیۡنَ

being sincere to Him in obedience

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ

Then whoso does an atom’s weight of good will see it,

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Do men think that they will be left alone because they say, ‘We believe,’ and that they will not be tested?

مِنۡہُمۡ مَّنۡ قَضٰی نَحۡبَہٗ وَمِنۡہُمۡ مَّنۡ یَّنۡتَظِرُ ۫ۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُوۡا تَبۡدِیۡلًا

some of them who have fulfilled their vow, and some who still wait, and they have not changed their condition in the least;

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

He indeed truly prospers who purifies it,

وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا

And he who corrupts it is ruined.

لَا تَمۡشِ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ مَرَحًا

nor walk in the earth haughtily

وَجَزٰٓؤُا سَیِّئَۃٍ سیِّئَۃٌ مِّثۡلُہَا ۚ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَاَصۡلَحَ فَاَجۡرُہٗ عَلَی اللّٰہِ
