یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ وَرَافِعُکَ اِلَیَّ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself.

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them;

وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

And it is an inviolable law for a township which We have destroyed that they shall not return.

فَیُمۡسِکُ الَّتِیۡ قَضٰی عَلَیۡہَا الۡمَوۡتَ

And then He retains those against which He has decreed death

اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ وَرَافِعُکَ

I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A large party from among the early Muslims,

وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

And a large party from the later ones.

لَا تَحۡزَنِیۡ ۚ اِنَّا رَآدُّوۡہُ اِلَیۡکِ وَجَاعِلُوۡہُ

fear not, nor grieve; for We shall restore him to thee, and shall make him

مِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِیۡنَ

one of the Messengers.

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A large party from among the early Muslims,

وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

And a large party from the later ones.

مَا فَعَلۡتُہٗ عَنۡ اَمۡرِیۡ

I did it not of my own accord

فَاَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡہَا رُوۡحَنَا َتَمَثَّلَ لَہَا بَشَرًا سَوِیًّا

hen We sent Our angel to her, and he appeared to her in the form of a perfect man

قَالَتۡ إِنِّيٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيّٗا

She said, ‘I seek refuge with the Gracious God from thee if indeed thou dost fear Him.’

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَٰمٗا زَكِيّٗا

He replied, ‘I am only a Messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a righteous son.’

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ لَا رَيۡبَۛ فِيهِۛ هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous,

ہُدًی لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَیِّنٰتٍ مِّنَ الۡہُدٰی وَالۡفُرۡقَانِ

guidance for mankind with clear proofs of guidance and discrimination.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدۡ جَآءَكُم بُرۡهَٰنٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ نُورٗا مُّبِينٗا

O ye people, a manifest proof has indeed come to you from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light.

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنَکُمۡ وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ نِعۡمَتِیۡ وَرَضِیۡتُ لَکُمُ الۡاِسۡلَامَ دِیۡنًا

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion.

قَدۡ جَآءَکُمۡ رَسُوۡلُنَا یُبَیِّنُ لَکُمۡ کَثِیۡرًا مِّمَّا کُنۡتُمۡ تُخۡفُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡکِتٰبِ وَیَعۡفُوۡا عَنۡ کَثِیۡرٍ ۬ؕ قَدۡ جَآءَکُمۡ مِّنَ اللّٰہِ نُوۡرٌ وَّکِتٰبٌ مُّبِیۡنٌ

there has come to you Our Messenger who unfolds to you much of what you had kept hidden of the Book and passes over much. There has come to you indeed from Allah a Light and a clear Book.

يَهۡدِي بِهِ ٱللَّهُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضۡوَٰنَهُۥ سُبُلَ ٱلسَّلَٰمِ وَيُخۡرِجُهُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ بِإِذۡنِهِۦ وَيَهۡدِيهِمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ

Thereby does Allah guide those who seek His pleasure on the paths of peace, and leads them out of every kind of darkness into light by His will, and guides them to the right path.

وَمُہَیۡمِنًا

and as a guardian over it.

مَا فَرَّطۡنَا فِی الۡکِتٰبِ مِنۡ شَیۡءٍ

We have left out nothing in the Book.

الٓر ۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ

Alif Lam Ra. These are the verses of the Book that is full of wisdom.

قُلِ اللّٰہُ یَہۡدِیۡ لِلۡحَقِّ

Say, ‘It is Allah Who leads to the truth.

اَصۡلُہَا ثَابِتٌ وَّفَرۡعُہَا فِی السَّمَآءِ

whose root is firm and whose branches reach into heaven.

اِنَّ ہٰذَا الۡقُرۡاٰنَ یَہۡدِیۡ لِلَِّیۡ ہِیَ اَقۡوَمُ

Surely, this Qur’an guides

اَللّٰہُ نَزَّلَ اَحۡسَنَ الۡحَدِیۡثِ کِتٰبًا مُّتَشَابِہًا مَّثَانِیَ ٭ۖ تَقۡشَعِرُّ مِنۡہُ جُلُوۡدُ الَّذِیۡنَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّہُمۡ ۚ ثُمَّ تَلِیۡنُ جُلُوۡدُہُمۡ وَقُلُوۡبُہُمۡ اِلٰی ذِکۡرِ اللّٰہِ ؕ ذٰلِکَ ہُدَی اللّٰہِ یَہۡدِیۡ بِہٖ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ

Allah has sent down the best Message in the form of a Book, whose verses are mutually supporting and repeated in diverse forms at which do creep the skins of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance of Allah. Such is the guidance of Allah; He guides therewith whom He pleases.

اَنۡزَلَ الۡکِتٰبَ بِالۡحَقِّ وَالۡمِیۡزَانَ

Who has sent down the Book with truth and also the Balance

هَٰذَا بَصَـٰٓئِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدٗى وَرَحۡمَةٞ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُوقِنُونَ

This Book contains clear evidences for mankind and is a guidance and a mercy for a people who possess firm faith.

یَہۡدِیۡۤ اِلَی الۡحَقِّ وَاِلٰی طَرِیۡقٍ مُّسۡتَقِیۡمٍ

it guides to the truth, and to the right path.

حِکۡمَۃٌۢ بَالِغَۃٌ

Consummate wisdom

۞فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ

Nay, I swear by the shooting of the stars —

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَہٗ بِالۡہُدٰی وَِیۡنِ الۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةٞ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

And verily it is a reminder for the righteous.

وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ

And, surely, We know that there are some among you who reject Our Signs.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

And, verily, it will be a source of regret for the disbelievers.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ

And surely, it is the true certainty.

وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلۡغَيۡبِ بِضَنِينٖ

And he is not niggardly with respect to the unseen.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرٞ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

It is nothing but a Reminder unto all the worlds,

لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمۡ أَن يَسۡتَقِيمَ

Unto such among you as desire to go straight,

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ

It is surely a decisive word,

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ

And, indeed, that is a grand oath, if you only knew —

إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ

That this is indeed a noble Qur’an,

فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ

In a well-preserved Book,

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

تُؤۡتِیۡۤ اُکُلَہَا کُلَّ حِیۡنٍۭ

It brings forth its fruit at all times

یٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّاسُ قَدۡ جَآءَۡکُمۡ مَّوۡعِظَۃٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّکُمۡ وَشِفَآءٌ لِّمَا فِی الصُّدُوۡرِ

O mankind! there has indeed come to you an exhortation from your Lord and a cure for whatever disease there is in the hearts,

اَنۡزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَالَتۡ اَوۡدِیَۃٌۢ بِقَدَرِہَا

He sends down water from the sky, so that valleys flow according to their measure

وَمَا اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَیۡکَ الۡکِتٰبَ اِلَّا لِتُبَیِّنَ لَہُمُ الَّذِی اخۡتَلَفُوۡا فِیۡہِ

And We have not sent down to thee the Book except that thou mayest explain to them that concerning which they differ,

تِبۡیَانًا لِّکُلِّ شَیۡءٍ

to explain everything

وَکُلَّ شَیۡءٍ فَصَّلۡنٰہُ تَفۡصِیۡلًا

We have explained with a detailed explanation.

قُل لَّئِنِ ٱجۡتَمَعَتِ ٱلۡإِنسُ وَٱلۡجِنُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَأۡتُواْ بِمِثۡلِ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ لَا يَأۡتُونَ بِمِثۡلِهِۦ وَلَوۡ كَانَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ لِبَعۡضٖ ظَهِيرٗا

Say, ‘If mankind and the Jinn gathered together to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like thereof, even though they should help one another.’

وَبِالۡحَقِّ اَنۡزَلۡنٰہُ وَبِالۡحَقِّ نَزَ

And in truth have We sent it down and with truth has it descended.

وَتُنۡذِرَ بِہٖ قَوۡمًا لُّدًّا

and warn thereby a people given to contention.

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيّٖ مُّبِينٖ

In plain and clear Arabic tongue.

كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَيۡكَ مُبَٰرَكٞ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓاْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ

This is a Book which We have revealed to thee, full of blessings, that they may reflect over its verses, and that those gifted with understanding may take heed.

وَاِنَّہٗ لَکِتٰبٌ عَزِیۡزٌ

And, truly, it is a mighty Book.

جَعَلۡنٰہُ نُوۡرًا نَّہۡدِیۡ بِہٖ مَنۡ نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا

We have made it (the revelation) a light, whereby We guide such of Our servants as We please.

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡ یُنَزِّلُ عَلٰی عَبۡدِہٖۤ اٰیٰتٍۭ بَیِّنٰتٍ لِّیُخۡرِجَکُمۡ مِّنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَی النُّوۡرِ

He it is Who sends down clear Signs to His servant, that He may bring you out of every kind of darkness into the light.

فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ

Therein are lasting commandments.

لَّا یَاۡتِیۡہِ الۡبَاطِلُ مِنۡۢ بَیۡنِ یَدَیۡہِ وَلَا مِنۡ خَلۡفِہٖ

Falsehood cannot approach it either from before or from behind it.

قُل لَّوۡ كَانَ ٱلۡبَحۡرُ مِدَادٗا لِّكَلِمَٰتِ رَبِّي لَنَفِدَ ٱلۡبَحۡرُ قَبۡلَ أَن تَنفَدَ كَلِمَٰتُ رَبِّي وَلَوۡ جِئۡنَا بِمِثۡلِهِۦ مَدَدٗا

Say, ‘If the ocean became ink for the words of my Lord, surely, the ocean would be exhausted before the words of my Lord came to an end, even though We brought the like thereof as further help.’

کَلِمَتُہٗ ۚ اَلۡقٰہَاۤ اِلٰی مَرۡیَمَ

His word which He sent down to Mary

قُلۡ یٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّاسُ اِنِّیۡ رَسُوۡلُ اللّٰہِ اِلَیۡکُمۡ جَمِیۡعَا

Say, ‘O mankind! truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah.'

رَّسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِیّٖنَ

he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

وَرَحۡمَتِیۡ وَسِعَتۡ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ

but My mercy encompasses all things

مَنۡ یَّکۡلَؤُکُمۡ بِالَّیۡلِ وَالنَّہَارِ

Who can protect you by night and by day

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ

It is God, the Gracious

عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ

Who has taught the Qur’an.

مَا یُمۡسِکُہُنَّ اِلَّا الرَّحۡمٰنُ

None withholds them but the Gracious God.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

یٰنَارُ کُوۡنِیۡ بَرۡدًا وَّسَلٰمًا عَلٰۤی اِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ

‘O fire, be thou cold and a means of safety for Abraham!’

وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَا ۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ ثَمَٰنِيَةٞ

And the angels will be standing on the sides thereof, and above them on that day eight angels will bear the throne of thy Lord.

فَلَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

and He reveals not His secrets to any one,

اِلَّا مَنِ ارۡتَضٰی مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

ضُرِبَتۡ عَلَیۡہِمُ الذِّلَّۃُ وَالۡمَسۡکَنَۃُ

they were smitten with abasement and destitution

إِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَكُمۡ فِيمَا كُنتُمۡ فِيهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ

When Allah said, ‘O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself, and will clear thee from the charges of those who disbelieve, and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection; then to Me shall be your return, and I will judge between you concerning that wherein you differ.

قَدۡ اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَیۡکُمۡ لِبَاسًا

We have indeed sent down to you raiment

اِنۡ مِّنۡ شَیۡءٍ اِلَّا عِنۡدَنَا خَزَآئِنُہٗ ۫ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُہٗۤ اِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعۡلُوۡمٍ

there is not a thing but with Us are the treasures thereof and We send it not down except in a known measure.

وَاَنۡزَلَ لَکُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَنۡعَامِ

He has sent down for you eight head of cattle

اَنۡزَلۡنَا الۡحَدِیۡدَ

We sent down iron

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

Thou hast been the Watcher over them

حُرِّمَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحۡمُ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلۡمُنۡخَنِقَةُ وَٱلۡمَوۡقُوذَةُ وَٱلۡمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيۡتُمۡ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسۡتَقۡسِمُواْ بِٱلۡأَزۡلَٰمِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ فِسۡقٌ ۗ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ يَئِسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن دِينِكُمۡ فَلَا تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ وَٱخۡشَوۡنِ ۚ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمَ دِينٗا ۚ فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ فِي مَخۡمَصَةٍ غَيۡرَ مُتَجَانِفٖ لِّإِثۡمٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

Forbidden to you is the flesh of an animal which dies of itself, and blood and the flesh of swine; and that on which is invoked the name of one other than Allah; and that which has been strangled; and that beaten to death; and that killed by a fall; and that which has been gored to death; and that of which a wild animal has eaten, except that which you have properly slaughtered; and that which has been slaughtered at an altar. And forbidden is also that you seek to know your lot by the divining arrows. That is an act of disobedience. This day have those who disbelieve despaired of harming your religion. So fear them not, but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion. But whoso is forced by hunger, without being wilfully inclined to sin, then, surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

قَٰتِلُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا بِٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ ٱلۡحَقِّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ حَتَّىٰ يُعۡطُواْ ٱلۡجِزۡيَةَ عَن يَدٖ وَهُمۡ صَٰغِرُونَ

Fight those from among the People of the Book who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor hold as unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have declared to be unlawful, nor follow the true religion, until they pay the tax with their own hand and acknowledge their subjection.

مَا کَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ اَبَاۤ اَحَدٍ مِّنۡ رِّجَالِکُمۡ وَلکِنۡ رَّسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِیّٖنَ

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

حَرٰمٌ عَلٰی قَرۡیَۃٍ اَہۡلَکۡنٰہَاۤ اَنَّہُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُوۡنَ

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them

وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٖ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا طَـٰٓئِرٖ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيۡهِ إِلَّآ أُمَمٌ أَمۡثَالُكُم ۚ مَّا فَرَّطۡنَا فِي ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِن شَيۡءٖ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يُحۡشَرُونَ

There is not an animal that crawls in the earth, nor a bird that flies on its two wings, but they are communities like you. We have left out nothing in the Book. Then to their Lord shall they be gathered together.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them;

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A large party from among the early Muslims,

وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

And a large party from the later ones.

وَءَاخَرِينَ مِنۡهُمۡ لَمَّا يَلۡحَقُواْ بِهِمۡ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise.

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ ۚ

then to Me shall be your return

نَحۡنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَیۡکَ اَحۡسَن الۡقَصَصِ

We narrate unto thee the most beautiful narration

کَانُوۡا مِنۡ اٰیٰتِنَا عَجَبًا

were a wonder among Our Signs?

مِّنۡ کُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنۡسِلُوۡنَ

they shall hasten forth from every height

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّیۡ ہَلۡ کُنۡتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوۡلًا

Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

وَرَفَعۡنَٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا

And We exalted him to a lofty station.

كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَيۡهَا فَانٖ

All that is on it (earth) will pass away.

فَلَا تَکُنۡ فِیۡ مِرۡیَۃٍ مِّنۡ لِّقَآئِہٖ

be not therefore in doubt as to the meeting with Him

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

And thou, O soul at peace!

ارۡجِعِیۡۤ اِلٰی رَبِّکِ

Return to thy Lord

وَمَا قَتَلُوۡہُ وَمَا صَلَبُوۡہُ

whereas they slew him not, nor crucified him

مَا فَرَّطۡنَا فِی الۡکِتٰبِ مِنۡ شَیۡءٍ

We have left out nothing in the Book.

يَٰحَسۡرَةً عَلَى ٱلۡعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

Alas for My servants! there comes not a Messenger to them but they mock at him.

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

فَاَغۡرَیۡنَا بَیۡنَہُمُ الۡعَدَاوَۃَ وَالۡبَغۡضَآءَ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

So We have caused enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection

وَاَلۡقَیۡنَا بَیۡنَہُمُ الۡعَدَاوَۃَ وَالۡبَغۡضَآءَ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

We have cast among them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَہٗ بِالۡہُدٰی وَدِیۡنِ الۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions.

اِنَّ عِبَادِیۡ لَیۡسَ لَکَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ سُلۡطٰنٌ

Surely, thou shalt have no power over My servants

وَسَلٰمٌ عَلَیۡہِ یَوۡمَ وُلِدَ وَیَوۡمَ یَمُوۡتُ وَیَوۡمَ یُبۡعَثُ

And peace was on him the day he was born, and the day he died, and peace there will be on him the day he will be raised

حَیًّا

raised up to life again.

إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

‘Except Thy chosen servants from among them.’

أَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ

‘Is it not so that we are not going to die again,

إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

‘Save our previous death, and that we are not to be punished?

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

‘Surely this is the supreme triumph.

وَلکِنۡ رَّسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِیّٖنَ

but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets

كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

‘Eat and drink pleasantly as a reward for what you did.’

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

‘Surely this is the supreme triumph.

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ ؕ اَفَا۠ئِنۡ مَّاتَ اَوۡ قُتِلَ انۡقَلَبۡتُمۡ عَلٰۤی اَعۡقَابِکُمۡ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him. If then he die or be slain, will you turn back on your heels?

إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

‘Save our previous death, and that we are not to be punished?

وَّمَا ہُمۡ مِّنۡہَا بِمُخۡرَجِیۡنَ

or shall they ever be ejected therefrom

حَرٰمٌ عَلٰی قَرۡیَۃٍ اَہۡلَکۡنٰہَاۤ اَنَّہُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُوۡنَ

it is an inviolable law for a township which We have destroyed that they shall not return.

فَیُمۡسِکُ الَّتِیۡ قَضٰی عَلَیۡہَا الۡمَوۡتَ

And then He retains those against which He has decreed death

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَمَاتُواْ وَهُمۡ كُفَّارٌ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ لَعۡنَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجۡمَعِينَ

Those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers, on them shall be the curse of Allah and of angels and of men all together.

خٰلِدِیۡنَ فِیۡہَا

They shall remain under it.

فَیُمۡسِکُ الَّتِیۡ قَضٰی عَلَیۡہَا الۡمَوۡتَ

And then He retains those against which He has decreed death

اَنَّہُمۡ لَا یَرۡجِعُوۡنَ

they shall not return.

وَّمَا ہُمۡ مِّنۡہَا بِمُخۡرَجِیۡنَ

or shall they ever be ejected therefrom

قِیۡلَ ادۡخُلِ الۡجَنَّۃَ

It was said to him, ‘Enter Paradise.

قَالَ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ

He will ask, ‘Will you have a look at him?’

وَلَوۡلَا نِعۡمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِينَ

‘And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I should surely have been of those who are called up before Him.

فَیُمۡسِکُ الَّتِیۡ قَضٰی عَلَیۡہَا الۡمَوۡتَ

And then He retains those against which He has decreed death

مِمَّا خَطِیۡٓــٰٔتِہِمۡ اُغۡرِقُوۡا فَاُدۡخِلُوۡا نَارًا

Because of their sins they were drowned and made to enter Fire

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

And thou, O soul at peace!

ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗ

Return to thy Lord well pleased with Him and He well pleased with thee.

فَٱدۡخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِي

So enter thou among My chosen servants,

وَٱدۡخُلِي جَنَّتِي

And enter thou My Garden.

قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرۡدِينِ

He will say, ‘By Allah, thou didst almost cause me to perish.

فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِي سَوَآءِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire.

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُواْ لَوۡ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةٗ فَنَتَبَرَّأَ مِنۡهُمۡ كَمَا تَبَرَّءُواْ مِنَّا ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُرِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ حَسَرَٰتٍ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ۖ وَمَا هُم بِخَٰرِجِينَ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ

And those who followed shall say: ‘If we could only return, we would disown them as they have disowned us.’ Thus will Allah show them their works as anguish for them, and they shall not get out of the Fire.

یُرِیۡدُوۡنَ اَنۡ یَّخۡرُجُوۡا مِنَ النَّارِ وَمَا ہُمۡ بِخٰرِجِیۡنَ مِنۡہَا

They will wish to come out of the Fire, but they will not be able to come out of it

لَا یَبۡغُوۡنَ عَنۡہَا حِوَلًا

they will not desire any change therefrom.

فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ تَوۡصِيَةٗ وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ

And they will not be able to make a will, nor will they return to their families.

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

وَمَا قَتَلُوۡہُ وَمَا صَلَبُوۡہُ وَلٰکِنۡ شُبِّہَ لَہُمۡ

whereas they slew him not, nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified;

بَلۡ رَّفَعَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡہِ

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself

فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ وَفِیۡہَا تَمُوۡتُوۡنَ

‘Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die

کَانَا یَاۡکُلٰنِ الطَّعَامَ

They both used to eat food.

وَلَوۡ کَانَ مِنۡ عِنۡدِ غَیۡرِ اللّٰہِ لَوَجَدُۡا فِیۡہِ اخۡتِلَافًا کَثِیۡرًا

Had it been from anyone other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much disagreement.

بَلۡ رَّفَعَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡہِ

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself

فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ

Therein shall you live,

ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗ

Return to thy Lord well pleased with Him and He well pleased with thee.

مَا قَتَلُوۡہُ وَمَا صَلَبُوۡہُ

whereas they slew him not, nor crucified him

بَلۡ رَّفَعَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡہِ

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself

وَجِیۡہًا فِی الدُّنۡیَا وَالۡاٰخِرَۃِ وَمِنَ الۡمُقَرَّبِیۡنَ

honoured in this world and in the next, and of those who are granted nearness to God;

مُطَہِّرُکَ مِنَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا

and will clear thee from the charges of those who disbelieve

وَّمَا ہُمۡ مِّنۡہَا بِمُخۡرَجِیۡنَ

nor shall they ever be ejected therefrom.

فَیُمۡسِکُ الَّتِیۡ قَضٰی عَلَیۡہَا الۡمَوۡتَ

And then He retains those against which He has decreed death

لَا یَذُوۡقُوۡنَ فِیۡہَا الۡمَوۡتَ اِلَّا الۡمَوۡتَۃَ الۡاُوۡلٰی

They will not taste death therein, other than the first death

مَا الۡمَسِیۡحُ ابۡنُ مَرۡیَمَ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a Messenger; surely, Messengers like unto him had indeed passed away before him

وَہُوَ الَّذِیۡ یَتَوَفّٰٮکُمۡ بِالَّیۡلِ وَیَعۡلَمُ مَا جَرَحۡتُمۡ بِالنَّہَارِ ثُمَّ یَبۡعَثُکُمۡ فِیۡہِ لِیُقۡضٰۤی اَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّی

And He it is Who takes your souls by night and knows that which you do by day; then He raises you up again therein, that the appointed term may be completed.

اَللّٰہُ یَتَوَفَّی الۡاَنۡفُسَ حِیۡنَ مَوۡتِہَا وَالَّتِیۡ لَمۡ تَمُتۡ فِیۡ مَنَامِہَا

فَاَصَمَّہُمۡ وَاَعۡمٰۤی اَبۡصَارَہُمۡ

He makes them deaf and makes their eyes blind.

اِعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰہَ یُحۡیِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِہَا

Know that Allah is now quickening the earth after its death.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

اِذَا جَآءَتۡہُمۡ رُسُلُنَا یَتَوَفَّوۡنَہُمۡ

when Our messengers shall visit them to take away their souls

رَبَّنَاۤ اَفۡرِغۡ عَلَیۡنَا صَبۡرًا وَّتَوَفَّنَا مُسۡلِمِیۡنَ

Our Lord, pour forth upon us steadfastness and cause us to die resigned unto Thee.’

وَاِمَّا نُرِیَنَّکَ بَعۡضَ الَّذِیۡ نَعِدُہُمۡ اَوۡ نَتَوَفَّیَنَّکَ

And if We show thee in thy lifetime the fulfilment of some of the things with which We have threatened them, thou wilt know it; or if We cause thee to die

تَوَفَّنِیۡ مُسۡلِمًا وَّاَلۡحِقۡنِیۡ بِالصّٰلِحِیۡنَ

Let death come to me in a state of submission to Thy will and join me to the righteous.’

وَلٰکِنۡ اَعۡبُدُ اللّٰہَ الَّذِیۡ یَتَوَفّٰٮکُمۡ

but I worship Allah alone Who causes you to die

حَتّٰی یَتَوَفّٰہُنَّ الۡمَوۡتُ

confine them to the houses until death overtake them

وَلٰکِنَّ الۡبِرَّ مَنۡ اٰمَنَ بِاللّٰہِ وَالۡیَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ وَالۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃِ وَالۡکِتٰبِ وَالنَّبِیّٖنَ

but truly righteous is he who believes in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Book and the Prophets

وَمَا یَعۡلَمُ جُنُوۡدَ رَبِّکَ اِلَّا ہُوَ

And none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He.

وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلۡمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗا

And thy Lord comes and also the angels ranged in rows after rows;

وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ

And the angels say: ‘And there is not one of us but has an appointed station.

إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ

There is no soul but has a guardian over it.

هَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِي ظُلَلٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡغَمَامِ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَقُضِيَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ ۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ

Are they waiting for anything but that Allah should come to them in the coverings of the clouds with angels, and the matter be decided? And to Allah do all things return.

وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلۡمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗا

And thy Lord comes and also the angels ranged in rows after rows;

إِنَّ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ

In the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the day there are indeed Signs for men of understanding;

فَقَالَ لَہَا وَلِلۡاَرۡضِ ائۡتِیَا طَوۡعًا اَوۡ کَرۡہًا ؕ قَالَتَاۤ اَتَیۡنَا طَآئِعِیۡنَ

and said to it and to the earth: ‘Come ye both of you, willingly or unwillingly.’ They said, ‘We come willingly.’

قَدۡ اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَیۡکُمۡ لِبَاسًا

We have indeed sent down to you raiment

یُدَبِّرُ الۡاَمۡرَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ اِلَی الۡاَرۡضِ

He will plan the Divine Ordinance from the heaven unto the earth

وَاَنۡزَلَ لَکُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَنۡعَامِ

He has sent down for you eight head of cattle

فَقَضٰہُنَّ سَبۡعَ سَمٰوَاتٍ فِیۡ یَوۡمَیۡنِ وَاَوۡحٰی فِیۡ کُلِّ سَمَآءٍ اَمۡرَہَا

So He completed them into seven heavens in two day

۞فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ

Nay, I swear by the shooting of the stars —

وَاَنۡزَلۡنَا الۡحَدِیۡدَ

and We sent down iron

یَتَنَزَّلُ الۡاَمۡرُ بَیۡنَہُنَّ

The divine command comes down in their midst

إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ

There is no soul but has a guardian over it.

فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمۡرٗا

Then they manage the affair entrusted to them.

لَا تَخَافِیۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنِیۡ ۚ اِنَّا رَآدُّوۡہُ اِلَیۡکِ وَجَاعِلُوۡہُ مِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِیۡنَ

and fear not, nor grieve; for We shall restore him to thee, and shall make him one of the Messengers.

لَہُمُ الۡبُشۡرٰی فِی الۡحَیٰوۃِ

For them are glad tidings in the present life

یَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ فُرۡقَانًا

He will grant you a distinction

الدُّنۡیَا

present life

یُلۡقِی الرُّوۡحَ مِنۡ اَمرِہٖ عَلٰی مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِہٖ لِیُنۡذِرَ یَوۡمَ التَّلَاقِ

He sends the Word by His command to whomsoever of His servants He pleases, that He may give warning of the Day of Meeting,

وَیَجۡعَلۡ لَّکُمۡ نُوۡرًا تَمۡشُوۡنَ بِہٖ

and will provide for you a light wherein you will walk

وَمَنۡ یَّتَّقِ اللّٰہَ یَجۡعَلۡ لَّہٗ مَخۡرَجًا

And he who fears Allah — He will make for him a way out,

وَّیَرۡزُقۡہُ مِنۡ حَیۡثُ لَا یَحۡتَسِبُ

And will provide for him from where he expects not.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ وَمِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِثۡلَهُنَّ ۖ يَتَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ بَيۡنَهُنَّ لِتَعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عِلۡمَۢا

Allah is He Who created seven heavens, and of the earth the like thereof. The divine command comes down in their midst, that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah encompasses all things in His knowledge.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised.

نَحۡنُ أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَشۡتَهِيٓ أَنفُسُكُمۡ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ

‘We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter. Therein you will have all that your souls will desire, and therein you will have all that you will ask for —

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

اِذۡ یُوۡحِیۡ رَبُّکَ اِلَی الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃِ اَنِّیۡ مَعَکُمۡ فَثَبِّتُوا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا

When thy Lord revealed to the angels, saying, ‘I am with you; so give firmness to those who believe.

يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرۡسَىٰهَا ۖ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا عِلۡمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّي ۖ لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقۡتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ ثَقُلَتۡ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ۚ لَا تَأۡتِيكُمۡ إِلَّا بَغۡتَةٗ ۗ يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنۡهَا ۖ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا عِلۡمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

They ask thee respecting the Hour: ‘When will it come to pass?’ Say, ‘The knowledge thereof is only with my Lord. None can manifest it at its time but He. It lies heavy on the heavens and the earth. It shall not come upon you but of a sudden.’ They ask thee as if thou wert well acquainted therewith. Say, ‘The knowledge thereof is only with Allah; but most men do not know.’

أَفَأَمِنُوٓاْ أَن تَأۡتِيَهُمۡ غَٰشِيَةٞ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡ تَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

Do they, then, feel secure from the coming on them of an overwhelming punishment from Allah or the sudden coming of the Hour upon them while they are unaware?

قُلۡ ہٰذِہٖ سَبِیۡلِیۡۤ اَدۡعُوۡۤا اِلَی الّٰہِ ۟ؔ عَلٰی بَصِیۡرَۃٍ اَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِیۡ

Say, ‘This is my way: I call unto Allah on sure knowledge, I and those who follow me.

بَلۡ تَأۡتِيهِم بَغۡتَةٗ فَتَبۡهَتُهُمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنظَرُونَ

Nay, it will come upon them unawares so that it will utterly confound them; and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be given respite.

وَلَا يَزَالُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي مِرۡيَةٖ مِّنۡهُ حَتَّىٰ تَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغۡتَةً أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَهُمۡ عَذَابُ يَوۡمٍ عَقِيمٍ

And those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt about it until the Hour comes suddenly upon them or there comes to them the punishment of a destructive day.

كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكۡنَٰهُ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

Thus have We caused it (disbelief) to enter into the hearts of the sinful.

لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ

They will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment.

فَيَأۡتِيَهُم بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

But it will come upon them suddenly, while they know not,

هَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأۡتِيَهُم بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

They wait not but for the Hour to come suddenly upon them, while they perceive it not.

وَاِنَّہٗ لَعِلۡمٌ لِّلسَّاعَۃِ

But verily, he was a sign of the Hour

وَلِنَجۡعَلَہٗۤ اٰیَۃً لِّلنَّاسِ

that We may make him a Sign unto men

اَمۡ حَسِبۡتُمۡ اَنۡ تَدۡخُلُوا الۡجَنَّۃَ وَلَمَّا یَاۡتِکُمۡ مَّثَلُ الَّذِیۡنَ خَلَوۡا مِنۡ قَبۡلِکُمۡ ؕ مَسَّتۡہُمُ الۡبَاۡسَآءُ وَالضَّرَّآءُ وَزُلۡزِلُوۡا حَتّٰی یَقُوۡلَ الرَّسُوۡلُ وَالَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مَعَہٗ مَتٰی نَصۡرُ اللّٰہِ

Do you think that you will enter Heaven while there has not come over you the condition of those who passed away before you? Poverty and afflictions befell them, and they were violently shaken until the Messenger and those who believed along with him said: ‘When will come the help of Allah?

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ

Surely, We sent it down on the Night of Destiny.

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ

And what should make thee know what the Night of Destiny is?

لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٖ

The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months.

تَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمۡرٖ

Therein descend angels and the Spirit by the command of their Lord — with every matter.

سَلَٰمٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطۡلَعِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ

It is all peace till the rising of the dawn.

اِذۡ یُوۡحِیۡ رَبُّکَ اِلَی الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃِ اَنِّیۡ مَعَکُمۡ فَثَبِّتُوا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا

When thy Lord revealed to the angels, saying, ‘I am with you; so give firmness to those who believe.

لَئِنۡ شَکَرۡتُمۡ لَاَزِیۡدَنَّکُمۡ وَلَئِنۡ کَفَرۡتُمۡ اِنَّ عَذَابِیۡ لَشَدِیۡدٌ

‘If you are grateful, I will, surely, bestow more favours on you; but if you are ungrateful, then know that My punishment is severe indeed.’

فَلَا تُزَکُّوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَکُمۡ

So ascribe not purity to yourselves

وَأَمَّا بِنِعۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثۡ

And the bounty of thy Lord, proclaim.

وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ وَاعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰہَ مَعَ الۡمُتَّقِیۡنَ

And fear Allah and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.

وَلَا تَقُوۡلُوۡا لِمَنۡ اَلۡقٰۤی اِلَیۡکُمُ السَّلٰمَ لَسۡتَ مُؤۡمِنًا

and say not to anyone who greets you with the greeting of peace, ‘Thou art not a believer.’

وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ فِيكُمۡ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ لَوۡ يُطِيعُكُمۡ فِي كَثِيرٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِ لَعَنِتُّمۡ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡإِيمَٰنَ وَزَيَّنَهُۥ فِي قُلُوبِكُمۡ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ وَٱلۡفُسُوقَ وَٱلۡعِصۡيَانَ ۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلرَّـٰشِدُونَ

And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah; if he were to comply with your wishes in most of the matters, you would surely come to trouble; but Allah has endeared the faith to you and has made it look beautiful to your hearts, and He has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience hateful to you. Such indeed are those who follow the right course,

اِنَّمَا الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ اِخۡوَۃٌ فَاَصۡلِحُوۡا بَیۡنَ اَخَوَیۡکُمۡ

Surely all believers are brothers. So make peace between brothers

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا يَسۡخَرۡ قَوۡمٞ مِّن قَوۡمٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونُواْ خَيۡرٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا نِسَآءٞ مِّن نِّسَآءٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُنَّ خَيۡرٗا مِّنۡهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلۡمِزُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَلَا تَنَابَزُواْ بِٱلۡأَلۡقَٰبِ ۖ بِئۡسَ ٱلِٱسۡمُ ٱلۡفُسُوقُ بَعۡدَ ٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ ۚ وَمَن لَّمۡ يَتُبۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

O ye who believe! let not one people deride another people, who may be better than they, nor let women deride other women, who may be better than they. And defame not your own people, nor call one another by nicknames. Bad indeed is evil reputation after the profession of belief; and those who repent not are the wrongdoers.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱجۡتَنِبُواْ كَثِيرٗا مِّنَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعۡضَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِثۡمٞ ۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُواْ وَلَا يَغۡتَب بَّعۡضُكُم بَعۡضًا ۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمۡ أَن يَأۡكُلَ لَحۡمَ أَخِيهِ مَيۡتٗا فَكَرِهۡتُمُوهُ ۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابٞ رَّحِيمٞ

O ye who believe! avoid most of suspicions; for suspicion in some cases is a sin. And spy not, nor back-bite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his brother who is dead? Certainly you would loathe it. And fear Allah, surely, Allah is Oft-Returning with compassion and is Merciful.

اِنۡ جَآءَکُمۡ فَاسِقٌۢ بِنَبَاٍ فَتَبَیَّنُوۡۤا اَنۡ تُصِیۡبُوۡا قَوۡمًۢا بِجَہَالَۃٍ فَتُصۡبِحُوۡا عَلٰی مَا فَعَلۡتُمۡ نٰدِمِیۡنَ

if an unrighteous person brings you any news, ascertain the correctness of the report fully, lest you harm a people in ignorance, and then become repentant for what you have done.

وَاَقۡسِطُوۡا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یُحِبُّ الۡمُقۡسِطِیۡنَ

and act justly. Verily, Allah loves the just.

وَلَا تُفۡسِدُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بَعۡدَ إِصۡلَٰحِهَا وَٱدۡعُوهُ خَوۡفٗا وَطَمَعًا ۚ إِنَّ رَحۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

And create not disorder in the earth after it has been set in order, and call upon Him in fear and hope. Surely, the mercy of Allah is nigh unto those who do good.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي يُرۡسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ بُشۡرَۢا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡ رَحۡمَتِهِۦ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَقَلَّتۡ سَحَابٗا ثِقَالٗا سُقۡنَٰهُ لِبَلَدٖ مَّيِّتٖ فَأَنزَلۡنَا بِهِ ٱلۡمَآءَ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦ مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُخۡرِجُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ

And He it is Who sends the winds as glad tidings before His mercy, till, when they bear a heavy cloud, We drive it to a dead land, then We send down water therefrom, and We bring forth therewith fruits of every kind. In like manner do We bring forth the dead that you may remember.

وَالۡبَلَدُ الطَّیِّبُ یَخۡرُجُ نَبَاتُہٗ بِاِذۡنِ رَبِّہٖ ۚ وَالَّذِیۡ خَبُثَ لَا

And as for the good land, its vegetation comes forth plentifully by the command of its Lord; and that which is bad,

وَلَوۡلَا دَفۡعُ اللّٰہِ النَّاسَ بَعۡضَہُمۡ بِبَعۡضٍ ۙ لَّفَسَدَتِ الۡاَرۡضُ وَلٰکِنَّ اللّٰہَ ذُوۡ فَضۡلٍ عَلَی الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ

And had it not been for Allah’s repelling men, some of them by the others, the earth would have become filled with disorder. But Allah is Munificent to all peoples.

ا یَخۡرُجُ اِلَّا نَکِدًا

its vegetation does not come forth but scantily

اِلَیۡہِ یَصۡعَدُ الۡکَلِمُ الطَّیِّبُ وَالۡعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ یَرۡفَعُہٗ ؕ وَالَّذِیۡنَ یَمۡکُرُوۡنَ السَّیِّاٰتِ لَہُمۡ عَذَابٌ شَدِیۡدٌ ؕ وَمَکۡرُ اُولٰٓئِکَ ہُوَ یَبُوۡرُ

Unto Him ascend good words, and righteous work does He exalt. And those who plot evils — for them is a severe punishment; and the plotting of such will perish.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيۡرِ سُلۡطَٰنٍ أَتَىٰهُمۡ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمۡ إِلَّا كِبۡرٞ مَّا هُم بِبَٰلِغِيهِ ۚ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡبَصِيرُ

Those who dispute concerning the Signs of Allah without any authority having come to them — there is nothing in their breasts but a feeling of greatness which they will never attain. So seek refuge in Allah. Surely He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.

فَفِرُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ

Flee ye therefore unto Allah. Surely, I am a plain Warner unto you from Him.

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَہٗ بِالۡہُدٰی َدِیۡنِ الۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions,

لَخَلۡقُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَكۡبَرُ مِنۡ خَلۡقِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

Certainly, the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind; but most men know not.

وَمَا یَسۡتَوِی الۡاَعۡمٰی وَالۡبَصِیۡرُ

And the blind and the seeing are not equal
