مَا رَمَيۡتَ إِذۡ رَمَيۡتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَمَىٰ

Thou threwest not when thou didst throw, but it was Allah Who threw.

قُل رَّبِّ زِدۡنِي عِلۡمٗا

Say, ‘O my Lord, increase me in knowledge.’

۞وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحۡيًا أَوۡ مِن وَرَآيِٕ حِجَابٍ أَوۡ يُرۡسِلَ رَسُولٗا

And it is not for a man that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a veil or by sending a messenger .

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَرۡسَلَ رَسُولَهُۥ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance.

أَتَجۡعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفۡسِدُ فِيهَا

Wilt Thou place therein such as will cause disorder in it.

مَا كَفَرَ سُلَيۡمَٰنُ

Solomon did not disbelieve.

إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ زَادَتۡهُمۡ إِيمَٰنٗا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

True believers are only those whose hearts tremble when the name of Allah is mentioned, and when His Signs are recited to them they increase their faith, and who put their trust in their Lord,

ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ

Who observe Prayer and spend out of that which We have provided for them.

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Gracious, the Merciful,

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

أَيَّدۡنَٰهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلۡقُدُسِ

(We)strengthened him with the Spirit of holiness.

إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيۡسَ لَكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٌ

Surely, thou shalt have no power over My servants.

عَطَآءً غَيۡرَ مَجۡذُوذٖ

a gift that shall not be cut off.

تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ

The angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve;

يَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ

do as they are commanded.

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ

Do they not then look at the camel, how it is created?

فَإِنَّ خَيۡرَ ٱلزَّادِ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ ۖ

Surely, the best provision is righteousness.

رِضۡوَٰنٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ أَكۡبَرُ ۚ

The pleasure of Allah is the greatest of all.

غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

ٱلۡخَبِيثَٰتُ لِلۡخَبِيثِينَ

Bad things are for bad men.

إِنَّا فَتَحۡنَا لَكَ فَتۡحٗا مُّبِينٗا

Verily, We have granted thee a clear victory,

لِّيَغۡفِرَ لَكَ ٱللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِن ذَنۢبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ

That Allah may cover up for thee thy shortcomings, past and future.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ

Surely, thy Lord does bring about what He pleases.

إِنَّ زَلۡزَلَةَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ شَيۡءٌ عَظِيمٞ

Verily the earthquake of the Hour is a tremendous thing.

أَنَّمَآ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ فِتۡنَةٞ

Your possessions and your children are but a trial .

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

عَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ ۚ

Consort with them in kindness.

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

كُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

Be with the truthful.

وَءَاخَرِينَ مِنۡهُمۡ لَمَّا يَلۡحَقُواْ بِهِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them.

أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ

Allah is with those who fear Him.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَكُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

O ye who believe! fear Allah and be with the truthful.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِ مِنكُمۡ ۖ

O ye who believe! obey Allah, and obey His Messenger and those who are in authority among you.

فَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلرِّجۡسَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَوۡثَٰنِ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ قَوۡلَ ٱلزُّورِ

Shun therefore the abomination of idols, and shun all words of untruth.

وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ ۖ

And He will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection;

بَعۡدِ مَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡقُرُونَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

After We had destroyed the earlier generations.

وَٱنطَلَقَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِنۡهُمۡ أَنِ ٱمۡشُواْ وَٱصۡبِرُواْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِكُمۡ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيۡءٞ يُرَادُ

And the leaders among them spoke out, ‘Go and stick to your gods. This is a thing designed.

وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنۡ عِبَادِيَ ٱلشَّكُورُ

But few of My servants are grateful.

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Do men think that they will be left alone because they say, ‘We believe,’ and that they will not be tested?

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِيِّ ۚ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا

Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! you also should invoke blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace.

لَن نُّؤۡمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى ٱللَّهَ جَهۡرَةٗ

We will by no means believe thee until we see Allah face to face.

ٱذۡهَبۡ أَنتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَٰتِلَآ إِنَّا هَٰهُنَا قَٰعِدُونَ

Therefore, go thou and thy Lord and fight, and here we sit.

ذَٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ

That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it on whom He pleases.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُمۡ جَمِيعًا

‘O mankind! truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah .

إِذَا جَآءَ نَصۡرُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡفَتۡحُ

When the help of Allah comes, and the victory,

وَرَأَيۡتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدۡخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفۡوَاجٗا

And thou seest men entering the religion of Allah in troops,

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِي

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you .

مُبَشِّرَۢا بِرَسُولٖ يَأۡتِي مِنۢ بَعۡدِي ٱسۡمُهُۥٓ أَحۡمَدُ ۖ

Giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.

لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفۡسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ

Haply thou wilt grieve thyself to death because they believe not.

وَٱسۡتَفۡتَحُواْ وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٖ

And they prayed for victory, and as a result thereof every haughty enemy of truth came to naught.

قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ ذُنُوبَكُمۡ ۚ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you and forgive you your faults.

يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطۡفِـُٔواْ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

مَا قَدَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدۡرِهِۦٓ ۚ

They esteem not Allah with the estimation which is His due.

إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيۡـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Verily His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, ‘Be!,’ and it is.

وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡخَوۡفِ وَٱلۡجُوعِ وَنَقۡصٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ وَٱلۡأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ

And We will try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives, and fruits.

ٱدۡعُونِيٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡ ۚ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلۡيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِي لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡشُدُونَ

And when My servants ask thee about Me, say: ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way.’

وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلتَّنَاوُشُ مِن مَّكَانِۭ بَعِيدٖ

But how can the attaining of faith be possible to them from a position so far-off.

قُل لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَغُضُّواْ مِنۡ أَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ

Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes.

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ

It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.

مُّحَمَّدٞ رَّسُولُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥٓ أَشِدَّآءُ عَلَى ٱلۡكُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ۖ

Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. And those who are with him are hard against the disbelievers, tender among themselves.

إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرٗا

Aye, surely there is ease after hardship.

إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ

‘Allah accepts only from the righteous.

نَزَعۡنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ

We shall remove whatever of rancour may be in their breasts.

رَبُّنَا ٱلَّذِيٓ أَعۡطَىٰ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلۡقَهُۥ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ

‘Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its proper form and then guided it to its proper function.

كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَغۡلِبَنَّ أَنَا۠ وَرُسُلِيٓ ۚ

Allah has decreed: ‘Most surely I will prevail, I and My Messengers.

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا ۚ

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways

إِنَّا سَنُلۡقِي عَلَيۡكَ قَوۡلٗا ثَقِيلًا

Verily, We are charging thee with a weighty Word.

أَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٖ مِّنۡهُ ۖ

whom He has strengthened with inspiration from Himself.

يُوَسۡوِسُ

He whispers (into the hearts of men),

ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِي ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ

Corruption has appeared on land and sea

كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

لَّمۡ نَقۡصُصۡ

We have not mentioned them.

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works.

وَأَخۡرَجَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ أَثۡقَالَهَا

And the earth brings forth her burdens,

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ

Then whoso does an atom’s weight of good will see it,

لَوۡ شِئۡنَا لَرَفَعۡنَٰهُ

If We had pleased, We could have exalted him.

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيۡءٞ يُرَادُ

This is a thing designed.

لَوۡ أَنزَلۡنَا هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلٖ لَّرَأَيۡتَهُۥ خَٰشِعٗا مُّتَصَدِّعٗا مِّنۡ خَشۡيَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ

If We had sent down this Qur’an on a mountain, thou wouldst certainly have seen it humbled and rent asunder for fear of Allah.

إِنۡ أَوۡلِيَآؤُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ

Its true guardians are only those who are righteous.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجۡرَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

Surely, Allah suffers not the reward of those who do good to be lost.

وَٱلۡعَٰقِبَةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ

And the end is for the God-fearing.’

هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

It is a guidance for the righteous.

وَمَكَرُواْ وَمَكَرَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡمَٰكِرِينَ

And they planned, and Allah also planned; and Allah is the Best of planners.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ ۗ

Surely, Allah changes not the condition of a people until they change that which is in their hearts.

يَٰحَسۡرَةً عَلَى ٱلۡعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

Alas for My servants! there comes not a Messenger to them but they mock at him.

لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

‘If we had but listened or possessed sense, we should not have been among the inmates of the blazing Fire.’

لَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ ۚ

Follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge.

مَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٞ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ ۚ

Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him.

وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱمۡرَأَتَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِذۡ قَالَتۡ رَبِّ ٱبۡنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيۡتٗا فِي ٱلۡجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِي مِن فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَعَمَلِهِۦ وَنَجِّنِي مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

And Allah sets forth for those who believe the example of the wife of Pharaoh when she said, ‘My Lord! build for me a house with Thee in the Garden; and deliver me from Pharaoh and his work, and deliver me from the wrongdoing people;’

وَمَرۡيَمَ ٱبۡنَتَ عِمۡرَٰنَ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتۡ بِكَلِمَٰتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَكَانَتۡ مِنَ ٱلۡقَٰنِتِينَ

And the example of Mary, the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her private parts — so We breathed into him of Our Spirit — and she fulfilled in her person the words of her Lord and His Books and was one of the obedient.

وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ

And as for the poets — it is the erring ones who follow them.

وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنٗا ۗ

And whoso enters it, enters peace.

مَن يُؤۡتَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ فَقَدۡ أُوتِيَ خَيۡرٗا كَثِيرٗا ۗ

And whoever is granted wisdom has indeed been granted abundant good.

لَآ إِكۡرَاهَ فِي ٱلدِّينِ ۖ

There should be no compulsion in religion.

أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلۡمُضۡطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ

Or, Who answers the distressed person when he calls upon Him.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

أَخۡلَدَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

He inclined to the earth.

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولٗا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ

As He made Successors from among those who were before them.

لَقَدۡ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدۡرٖ وَأَنتُمۡ أَذِلَّةٞ ۖ

Allah had already helped you at Badr when you were weak.

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرۡتَضَىٰ لَهُمۡ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِهِمۡ أَمۡنٗا ۚ يَعۡبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشۡرِكُونَ بِي شَيۡـٔٗا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me. Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious.

مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ

They shall hasten forth from every height.

لِّيَهۡلِكَ مَنۡ هَلَكَ عَنۢ بَيِّنَةٖ

So that he who had already perished through a clear Sign might perish.

يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُوكُمۡ فَتَسۡتَجِيبُونَ بِحَمۡدِهِۦ وَتَظُنُّونَ إِن لَّبِثۡتُمۡ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا

‘It will be on the day when He will call you; then will you respond praising Him and you will think that you have tarried but a little while.’

إِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَيۡـٔٗا

Surely, conjecture avails naught against truth.

إِنَّ بَعۡضَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِثۡمٞ ۖ

For suspicion in some cases is a sin.

فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

So ask those who possess the Reminder, if you know not.

إِنِّي لَأَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ ۖ

‘Surely, I feel the scent of Joseph.

وَٱبۡيَضَّتۡ عَيۡنَاهُ

And his eyes became white.

وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِيلٗا

And thou wilt never find a change in the way of Allah.

لَا تَسۡـَٔلُواْ عَنۡ أَشۡيَآءَ

Ask not about things .

أَمَّا بِنِعۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثۡ

The bounty of thy Lord, proclaim.

كُلُواْ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ

Eat of the things that are pure.

مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ

They spend out of what We have provided for them.
