إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلتَّوَّـٰبِينَ

Allah loves those who turn to Him.

رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٗ وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ حَسَنَةٗ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Our Lord, grant us good in this world as well as good in the world to come, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحۡسِنُونَ

Verily, Allah is with those who are righteous and those who do good.

إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ

Surely, man is in a state of loss,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ

Except those who believe and do good works, and exhort one another to accept truth, and exhort one another to be steadfast.

وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ مَخۡرَجٗا

And he who fears Allah — He will make for him a way out.

وَيَرۡزُقۡهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَحۡتَسِبُ

And will provide for him from where he expects not.

وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسۡبُهُۥٓ

And he who puts his trust in Allah — He is sufficient for him.

إِنۡ أَوۡلِيَآؤُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ

Its true guardians are only those who are righteous.

وَلَا رَطۡبٖ وَلَا يَابِسٍ إِلَّا فِي كِتَٰبٖ مُّبِينٖ

Nor anything green or dry, but is recorded in a clear Book.

لَهُمُ ٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ

For them are glad tidings in the present life and also in the Hereafter.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised.

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Do men think that they will be left alone because they say, ‘We believe,’ and that they will not be tested?

إِنَّ أَوۡلِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

The friends of Allah shall certainly have no fear, nor shall they grieve —

أَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ

Rejoice in the Garden that you were promised.

نَحۡنُ أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ

‘We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

وَمَن كَانَ فِي هَٰذِهِۦٓ أَعۡمَىٰ فَهُوَ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَعۡمَىٰ

But whoso is blind in this world will be blind in the Hereafter.

هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

It is a guidance for the righteous.

هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

It is a guidance for the righteous.

وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِٱللَّغۡوِ مَرُّواْ كِرَامٗا

And when they pass by anything vain, they pass on with dignity.

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast.

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Do men think that they will be left alone because they say, ‘We believe,’ and that they will not be tested?

وَتِلۡكَ ٱلۡأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ

And such days We cause to alternate among men.

حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ مَتَىٰ نَصۡرُ ٱللَّهِ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ نَصۡرَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٞ

Until the Messenger and those who believed along with him said: ‘When will come the help of Allah?’ Yea, surely the help of Allah is nigh.

قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you

هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

It is a guidance for the righteous.

ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ

Who believe in the unseen.

وَمَن كَانَ فِي هَٰذِهِۦٓ أَعۡمَىٰ فَهُوَ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَعۡمَىٰ

But whoso is blind in this world will be blind in the Hereafter.

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ

It is they who shall prosper.

وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ

And observe Prayer.

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.

أَخۡلَدَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

He inclined to the earth.

وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ

And spend out of what We have provided for them.

وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ

And spend out of what We have provided for them.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ وَبِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمۡ يُوقِنُونَ

And who believe in that which has been revealed to thee, and that which was revealed before thee, and they have firm faith in what is yet to come.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others.

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ

Surely, success does come to the believers,

وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ

And it is they who shall prosper.

وَلَا تَلۡمِزُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَلَا تَنَابَزُواْ بِٱلۡأَلۡقَٰبِ ۖ بِئۡسَ ٱلِٱسۡمُ ٱلۡفُسُوقُ بَعۡدَ ٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ ۚ وَمَن لَّمۡ يَتُبۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

And defame not your own people, nor call one another by nicknames. Bad indeed is evil reputation after the profession of belief; and those who repent not are the wrongdoers.

إِنَّ أَكۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَىٰكُمۡ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٞ

Verily, the most honourable among you, in the sight of Allah, is he who is the most righteous among you. Surely, Allah is All-knowing, All-Aware.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِيِّ ۚ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا

Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! you also should invoke blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace.

ذَٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ

That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it on whom He pleases.

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One;

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

‘Allah, the Independent and Besought of all.

لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ

‘He begets not, nor is He begotten;

وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ

‘And there is none like unto Him.’

فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ

Therein are lasting commandments.

أَخۡلَدَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

He inclined to the earth.

لَمَّا يَلۡحَقُواْ بِهِمۡ

Who have not yet joined them.

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولٗا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them.

فَكَيۡفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرۡتُمۡ يَوۡمٗا يَجۡعَلُ ٱلۡوِلۡدَٰنَ شِيبًا

How will you then, if you disbelieve, guard yourselves against a day which will turn children greyheaded?

ٱلسَّمَآءُ مُنفَطِرُۢ بِهِۦ ۚ كَانَ وَعۡدُهُۥ مَفۡعُولًا

On that day the heaven will be rent asunder and His promise will be fulfilled.

وَأَلَّفَ بَيۡنَ قُلُوبِهِمۡ ۚ لَوۡ أَنفَقۡتَ مَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا مَّآ أَلَّفۡتَ بَيۡنَ قُلُوبِهِمۡ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَلَّفَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ

And He has put affection between their hearts. If thou hadst expended all that is in the earth, thou couldst not have put affection between their hearts, but Allah has put affection between them.

أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ ظُلِمُواْ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ نَصۡرِهِمۡ لَقَدِيرٌ

Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged — and Allah indeed has power to help them —

ٱلَّذِينَ أُخۡرِجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِهِم بِغَيۡرِ حَقٍّ إِلَّآ أَن يَقُولُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ

Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly only because they said, ‘Our Lord is Allah.’

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

وَءَاخَرِينَ مِنۡهُمۡ لَمَّا يَلۡحَقُواْ بِهِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them.

يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِي كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

Since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them; and Thou art Witness over all things.

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them.

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتۡ

And when the beasts are gathered together,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتۡ

And when the seas are made to flow forth one into the other,

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتۡ

And when people are brought together,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡمَوۡءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتۡ

And when the girl-child buried alive is questioned about,

بِأَيِّ ذَنۢبٖ قُتِلَتۡ

‘For what crime was she killed?’

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتۡ

And when books are spread abroad.

أَفِي ٱللَّهِ شَكّٞ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ

‘Are you in doubt concerning Allah, Maker of the heavens and the earth?

مِّن قُوَّةٖ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ ٱلۡخَيۡلِ تُرۡهِبُونَ بِهِۦ عَدُوَّ ٱللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمۡ

Of armed force and of mounted pickets at the frontier, whereby you may frighten the enemy of Allah and your enemy.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱصۡبِرُواْ وَصَابِرُواْ وَرَابِطُواْ

O ye who believe! be steadfast and strive to excel in steadfastness and be on your guard-

لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَا

Allah burdens not any soul beyond its capacity.

إِنَّ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ

In the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the day there are indeed Signs for men of understanding;

ٱلَّذِينَ يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمٗا وَقُعُودٗا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمۡ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقۡتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلٗا سُبۡحَٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and ponder over the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord, Thou hast not created this in vain; nay, Holy art Thou; save us, then, from the punishment of the Fire.

أَلَسۡتُ بِرَبِّكُمۡ ۖ قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ

‘Am I not your Lord?’

إِنَّ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ

In the creation of the heavens and the earth.

إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ

That this is indeed a noble Qur’an,

فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ

In a well-preserved Book,

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمٗا وَقُعُودٗا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمۡ

Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides.

أُوْلِي ٱلۡأَيۡدِي وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِ

men of strong hands and powerful vision.

لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ

Why do you say what you do not do?

إِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Most surely We will be its Guardian.

وَيُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِينٗا وَيَتِيمٗا وَأَسِيرًا

And they feed, for love of Him, the poor, the orphan, and the prisoner,

لَن تَنَالُواْ ٱلۡبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ

Never shall you attain to righteousness unless you spend out of that which you love.

سۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ

Whoever submits himself completely to Allah-

كَبُرَ مَقۡتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُواْ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ

Most hateful is it in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do.

صَابِرُواْ وَرَابِطُواْ

Strive to excel in steadfastness and be on your guard.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱصۡبِرُواْ

O ye who believe! be steadfast.

ٱدۡفَعۡ بِٱلَّتِي هِيَ أَحۡسَنُ

Repel evil with that which is best.

إِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ

Thou dost surely possess high moral excellences.

وَإِن كُنتُمۡ فِي رَيۡبٖ مِّمَّا نَزَّلۡنَا عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِنَا فَأۡتُواْ بِسُورَةٖ مِّن مِّثۡلِهِ

And if you are in doubt as to what We have sent down to Our servant, then produce a Chapter like it.

لَّئِنِ ٱجۡتَمَعَتِ ٱلۡإِنسُ وَٱلۡجِنُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَأۡتُواْ بِمِثۡلِ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ لَا يَأۡتُونَ بِمِثۡلِهِ

‘If mankind and the Jinn gathered together to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like thereof.'

صُحُفٗا مُّطَهَّرَةٗ

Pure Scriptures.

فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ

Therein are lasting commandments.

فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ

Therein are lasting commandments.

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One;

وَإِن مِّن شَيۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ

And there is not a thing but with Us are the treasures thereof and We send it not down except in a known measure.

قُلۡ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُمۡ جَمِيعًا

Say, ‘O mankind! truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah.

مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٖ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah.

قُل لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَغُضُّواْ مِنۡ أَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ وَيَحۡفَظُواْ فُرُوجَهُمۡ

Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts.

وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلۡقٍ عَلِيمٌ

And He knows every kind of creation full well.

أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلۡخَلۡقِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِ

Have We then become weary with the first creation?

سُبۡحَٰنَكَ لَا عِلۡمَ لَنَآ

‘Holy art Thou! No knowledge have we.'

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ

In a well-preserved Book,

يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ

And thou dost surely possess high moral excellences.

أَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ

Turn away from the ignorant.

وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ

And will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection.

وَكُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

And be with the truthful.

ٱدۡعُونِيٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ

And spend out of what We have provided for them.

إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ

‘Allah accepts only from the righteous.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخۡلِفُ ٱلۡمِيعَادَ

Surely, Allah breaks not His promise.

صُمُّۢ بُكۡمٌ عُمۡيٞ فَهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

They are deaf, dumb and blind; so they will not return.

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

And thou, O soul at peace!

ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗ

Return to thy Lord well pleased with Him and He well pleased with thee.

نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ

It is Allah’s kindled fire,

ٱلَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةِ

Which rises over the hearts.

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

And thou, O soul at peace!

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they may worship Me.

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

And thou, O soul at peace!

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

يَٰنَارُ كُونِي بَرۡدٗا وَسَلَٰمًا

‘O fire, be thou cold and a means of safety.

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَيُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُ

Allah is He beside Whom there is no God, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining.

إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ

‘I am only a man like yourselves.'

يَأۡكُلُ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَيَمۡشِي فِي ٱلۡأَسۡوَاقِ

He eats food, and walks in the streets?

مَا رَمَيۡتَ إِذۡ رَمَيۡتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَمَىٰ

Thou threwest not when thou didst throw, but it was Allah Who threw.

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

هَلۡ يَسۡتَوِي ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ وَٱلۡبَصِيرُ

Say: ‘Can a blind man and one who sees be alike?’

قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ

Say, ‘I am only a man like yourselves.

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples.

قُلۡ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُمۡ جَمِيعًا

Say, ‘O mankind! truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah

أَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٖ مِّنۡهُ

Whom He has strengthened with inspiration from Himself.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.

كَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا

Allah is Mighty, Wise.

وَمَن يُؤۡتَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ فَقَدۡ أُوتِيَ خَيۡرٗا كَثِيرٗا

And whoever is granted wisdom has indeed been granted abundant good.

ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِي ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ

Corruption has appeared on land and sea

يُحۡيِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا

And He gives life to the earth after its death.

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples.

ذَٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ

That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it on whom He pleases.

لَئِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمۡ ۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرۡتُمۡ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٞ

If you are grateful, I will, surely, bestow more favours on you; but if you are ungrateful, then know that My punishment is severe indeed.

ٱدۡعُونِيٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

إِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ

Thou dost surely possess high moral excellences.

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

He indeed truly prospers who purifies it,

وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا

And he who corrupts it is ruined.

قُتِلَ ٱلۡخَرَّـٰصُونَ

Cursed be the liars,

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِي غَمۡرَةٖ سَاهُونَ

Who are heedless in the depth of ignorance.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ

Surely, Allah changes not the condition of a people until they change that which is in their hearts.

وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِيلٗا

And thou wilt never find a change in the way of Allah.

أَنَّ ٱلۡقُوَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعٗا

All power belongs to Allah.

خُلِقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ ضَعِيفٗا

for man has been created weak.

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ

And thou dost surely possess high moral excellences.

بَلۡ كَذَّبُواْ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ ۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا

Nay, they deny the Hour, and for those who deny the Hour We have prepared a blazing fire.

إِذَا رَأَتۡهُم مِّن مَّكَانِۭ بَعِيدٖ سَمِعُواْ لَهَا تَغَيُّظٗا وَزَفِيرٗا

When it sees them from a place far off, they will hear its raging and roaring.

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأۡتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجۡرِمٗا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

Verily, he who comes to his Lord a sinner — for him is Hell; he shall neither die therein nor live.

ٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا

as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجۡرَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

Surely, Allah suffers not the reward of those who do good to be lost.

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ

Then whoso does an atom’s weight of good will see it,

إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرٗا

Aye, surely there is ease after hardship.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ

Surely, Allah changes not the condition of a people until they change that which is in their hearts.

إِنَّ ٱلشِّرۡكَ لَظُلۡمٌ عَظِيمٞ

Surely, associating partners with God is a grievous wrong.’

خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ

Created death and life that He might try you.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ

Verily, Allah is with those who are righteous.

ٱدۡعُونِيٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡ

Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they may worship Me.

إِنَّ ٱلۡحَسَنَٰتِ يُذۡهِبۡنَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ

Surely, good works drive away evil works.

إِنَّ ٱلۡحَسَنَٰتِ يُذۡهِبۡنَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ

Surely, good works drive away evil works.

إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِ

Surely, Prayer restrains one from indecency and manifest evil.

إِنِّي وَجَّهۡتُ وَجۡهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ

‘I have turned my face toward Him Who created the heavens and the earth.'

ٱدۡعُونِيٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡ

Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

وَتَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى ٱلۡبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ

And help one another in righteousness and piety.

مَنۡ أَنصَارِيٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ

‘Who are my helpers in the cause of Allah.’

إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا

Most surely We help Our Messengers and those who believe, both in the present life.

وَهُوَ يَتَوَلَّى ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

And He protects the righteous.

مَنۡ أَنصَارِيٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ

‘Who are my helpers in the cause of Allah.’

فَٱسۡتَقِمۡ كَمَآ أُمِرۡتَ

So stand thou upright, as thou hast been commanded.

فَٱسۡتَقِمۡ كَمَآ أُمِرۡتَ

So stand thou upright, as thou hast been commanded.

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ

And thou dost surely possess high moral excellences.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve.

دۡعُونِيٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡ

‘Pray unto Me; I will answer your prayer.

نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ

It is Allah’s kindled fire,

ٱلَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةِ

قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي

If you love Allah, follow me.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا

O ye who believe! you also should invoke blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace.

ذَٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ

That is Allah’s grace; He bestows it on whom He pleases.

أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ

Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with the People of the Elephant?

وَفَدَيۡنَٰهُ بِذِبۡحٍ عَظِيمٖ

And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ

Then whoso does an atom’s weight of good will see it,

إِلَيۡهِ يَصۡعَدُ ٱلۡكَلِمُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ

Unto Him ascend good words.

كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيۡنَا نَصۡرُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

It was certainly due from Us to help the believers.

لَن يَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ سَبِيلًا

Allah will not grant the disbelievers a way to prevail against the believers.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحۡسِنُونَ

Verily, Allah is with those who are righteous and those who do good.

وَٱلۡكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلۡغَيۡظَ

And those who suppress anger.

فَٱسۡتَقِمۡ كَمَآ أُمِرۡتَ

So stand thou upright, as thou hast been commanded.

كُنتُمۡ خَيۡرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind.

رَّضِيَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُ

Allah is well pleased with them, and they are well pleased with Him.

يَأۡكُلُونَ كَمَا تَأۡكُلُ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمُ

Eat even as the cattle eat.

قُلۡ مَا يَعۡبَؤُاْ بِكُمۡ رَبِّي لَوۡلَا دُعَآؤُكُمۡ

Say to the disbelievers: ‘But for your prayer to Him my Lord would not care for you.

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

And I have not created the Jinn and the men but that they may worship Me.

قُلۡ مَا يَعۡبَؤُاْ بِكُمۡ رَبِّي لَوۡلَا دُعَآؤُكُمۡ

Say to the disbelievers: ‘But for your prayer to Him my Lord would not care for you.

قُلۡ مَا يَعۡبَؤُاْ بِكُمۡ رَبِّي لَوۡلَا دُعَآؤُكُمۡ

Say to the disbelievers: ‘But for your prayer to Him my Lord would not care for you.

إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ

Surely, man is in a state of loss,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ

Except those who believe and do good works.

مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ

They spend out of what We have provided for them.

أَلَمۡ نَشۡرَحۡ لَكَ صَدۡرَكَ

Have We not opened for thee thy bosom,

يَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ

do as they are commanded.

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ

Guide us in the ... path.

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ

Except those who believe and do good works.

وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ

And exhort one another to accept truth.

وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقۡبَٰهَا

And He cared not for the consequences thereof.

كُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

Be with the truthful.

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ

مَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ يَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ

Allah would not punish them while they sought forgiveness.

يُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِينٗا وَيَتِيمٗا وَأَسِيرًا

They feed, for love of Him, the poor, the orphan, and the prisoner.

إِنَّ أَكۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَىٰكُمۡ ۚ

Verily, the most honourable among you, in the sight of Allah, is he who is the most righteous among you.

لَا تُلۡهِكُمۡ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ

Let not your wealth ... divert you.

وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ

And the Hereafter with thy Lord is for the righteous.

وَٱلۡعَصۡرِ

By the fleeting Time,

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ

By the cloud which gives rain after rain,

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ

By the cloud which gives rain after rain,

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ

And by the earth which opens out with herbage,

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ

And it is not a useless talk.

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ

It is surely a decisive word,

ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِي ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ

Corruption has appeared on land and sea

مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يُقۡرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنٗا

Who is it that will lend Allah a goodly loan.

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ

Then whoso does an atom’s weight of good will see it,

مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يُقۡرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا

Who is it that will lend Allah a goodly loan.

مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ

Thy Lord has not forsaken thee.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَواْ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحۡسِنُونَ

Verily, Allah is with those who are righteous and those who do good.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدِينَ

Surely, Allah loves not the transgressors.

وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيۡءٖ

And We will try you with something.

وَٱلرُّجۡزَ فَٱهۡجُرۡ

And uncleanliness do thou shun,

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلتَّوَّـٰبِينَ وَيُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُتَطَهِّرِينَ

Allah loves those who turn to Him and loves those who keep themselves clean.

قُلۡ مَا يَعۡبَؤُاْ بِكُمۡ رَبِّي لَوۡلَا دُعَآؤُكُمۡ

Say to the disbelievers: ‘But for your prayer to Him my Lord would not care for you.

أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِ مِنكُمۡ

Obey Allah, and obey His Messenger and those who are in authority among you.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ

Surely, Allah changes not the condition of a people until they change that which is in their hearts.

ٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحۡيِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا

Know that Allah is now quickening the earth after its death.

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ

In a well-preserved Book,

يَأۡكُلُونَ كَمَا تَأۡكُلُ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمُ

Eat even as the cattle eat.

يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمۡ سُجَّدٗا وَقِيَٰمٗا

Who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing,

مَن كَانَ فِي هَٰذِهِۦٓ أَعۡمَىٰ فَهُوَ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَعۡمَىٰ

whoso is blind in this world will be blind in the Hereafter.

فَلَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا

And He reveals not His secrets to any one.

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٖ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.
