رُّسُلٗا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةُۢ بَعۡدَ ٱلرُّسُلِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا

Messengers, bearers of glad tidings and warners, so that people may have no plea against Allah after the coming of the Messengers. And Allah is Mighty, Wise.

إِنَّ ٱلنَّفۡسَ لَأَمَّارَةُۢ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ

For, the soul is surely prone to enjoin evil.

وَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلنَّفۡسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ

And I do call to witness the self-accusing soul, that the Day of Judgment is a certainty.

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

And thou, O soul at peace!

ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗ

Return to thy Lord well pleased with Him and He well pleased with thee.

فَٱدۡخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِي

So enter thou among My chosen servants,

وَٱدۡخُلِي جَنَّتِي

And enter thou My Garden.

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

He indeed truly prospers who purifies it,

وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا

And he who corrupts it is ruined.

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ

And thou dost surely possess high moral excellences.

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ

And thou dost surely possess high moral excellences.

وَٱبۡتَلُواْ ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُواْ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنۡ ءَانَسۡتُم مِّنۡهُمۡ رُشۡدٗا فَٱدۡفَعُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِمۡ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ ۖ وَلَا تَأۡكُلُوهَآ إِسۡرَافٗا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكۡبَرُواْ ۚ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيّٗا فَلۡيَسۡتَعۡفِفۡ ۖ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرٗا فَلۡيَأۡكُلۡ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ ۚ فَإِذَا دَفَعۡتُمۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ فَأَشۡهِدُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبٗا

And prove the orphans until they attain the age of marriage; then, if you find in them sound judgment, deliver to them their property; and devour it not in extravagance and haste against their growing up. And whoso is rich, let him abstain; and whoso is poor, let him eat thereof with equity. And when you deliver to them their property, then call witnesses in their presence. And Allah is sufficient as a Reckoner.

وَلَا تُؤۡتُواْ ٱلسُّفَهَآءَ أَمۡوَٰلَكُمُ ٱلَّتِي جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ قِيَٰمٗا وَٱرۡزُقُوهُمۡ فِيهَا وَٱكۡسُوهُمۡ وَقُولُواْ لَهُمۡ قَوۡلٗا مَّعۡرُوفٗا

And give not to the foolish your property which Allah has made for you a means of support; but feed them therewith and clothe them and speak to them words of kind advice.

وَلۡيَخۡشَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَوۡ تَرَكُواْ مِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ ذُرِّيَّةٗ ضِعَٰفًا خَافُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ فَلۡيَتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡيَقُولُواْ قَوۡلٗا سَدِيدًا

And let those fear God who, if they should leave behind them their own weak offspring, would be anxious for them. Let them, therefore, fear Allah and let them say the right word.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأۡكُلُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَ ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ ظُلۡمًا إِنَّمَا يَأۡكُلُونَ فِي بُطُونِهِمۡ نَارٗا ۖ وَسَيَصۡلَوۡنَ سَعِيرٗا

Surely, they who devour the property of orphans unjustly, only swallow fire into their bellies, and they shall burn in a blazing fire.

وَأَصۡلِحُواْ ذَاتَ بَيۡنِكُمۡ ۖ

And set things right among yourselves.

وَٱلصُّلۡحُ خَيۡرٞ ۗ

And reconciliation is best.

وَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلۡمِ فَٱجۡنَحۡ لَهَا

And if they incline towards peace, incline thou also towards it.

وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمۡشُونَ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ هَوۡنٗا

And the servants of the Gracious God are those who walk on the earth in a dignified manner.

وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِٱللَّغۡوِ مَرُّواْ كِرَامٗا

And when they pass by anything vain, they pass on with dignity.

ٱدۡفَعۡ بِٱلَّتِي هِيَ أَحۡسَنُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِي بَيۡنَكَ وَبَيۡنَهُۥ عَدَٰوَةٞ كَأَنَّهُۥ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٞ

Repel evil with that which is best. And lo, he between whom and thyself was enmity will become as though he were a warm friend.

وَقُولُواْ لِلنَّاسِ حُسۡنٗا

And speak to men kindly .

لَا يَسۡخَرۡ قَوۡمٞ مِّن قَوۡمٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونُواْ خَيۡرٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا نِسَآءٞ مِّن نِّسَآءٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُنَّ خَيۡرٗا مِّنۡهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلۡمِزُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَلَا تَنَابَزُواْ بِٱلۡأَلۡقَٰبِ ۖ

let not one people deride another people, who may be better than they, nor let women deride other women, who may be better than they. And defame not your own people, nor call one another by nicknames.

ٱجۡتَنِبُواْ كَثِيرٗا مِّنَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعۡضَ ٱلظَّنِّ إِثۡمٞ ۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُواْ وَلَا يَغۡتَب بَّعۡضُكُم بَعۡضًا ۚ أَخِيهِ ......وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابٞ رَّحِيمٞ

avoid most of suspicions; for suspicion in some cases is a sin. And spy not, nor back-bite one another..... And fear Allah, surely, Allah is Oft-Returning with compassion and is Merciful.

وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡبَصَرَ وَٱلۡفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ كَانَ عَنۡهُ مَسۡـُٔولٗا

And follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge. Verily, the ear and the eye and the heart — all these shall be called to account.

وَٱلۡكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلۡغَيۡظَ وَٱلۡعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۗ

And those who suppress anger and pardon men.

وَجَزَـٰٓؤُاْ سَيِّئَةٖ سَيِّئَةٞ مِّثۡلُهَا ۖ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَأَصۡلَحَ فَأَجۡرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ

And the recompense of an injury is an injury the like thereof; but whoso forgives and his act brings about reformation, his reward is with Allah.

وَلَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡقِصَاصِ حَيَوٰةٞ يَـٰٓأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ

And there is life for you in the law of retaliation, O men of understanding.

مَن قَتَلَ نَفۡسَۢا بِغَيۡرِ نَفۡسٍ أَوۡ فَسَادٖ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعٗا وَمَنۡ أَحۡيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَآ أَحۡيَا ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعٗا ۚ

that whosoever killed a person — unless it be for killing a person or for creating disorder in the land — it shall be as if he had killed all mankind.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ وَإِيتَآيِٕ ذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred.

وَجَزَـٰٓؤُاْ سَيِّئَةٖ سَيِّئَةٞ مِّثۡلُهَا ۖ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَأَصۡلَحَ فَأَجۡرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ وَإِيتَآيِٕ ذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَيَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِ وَٱلۡبَغۡيِ ۚ

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred; and forbids indecency, and manifest evil, and wrongful transgression.

لَا تُبۡطِلُواْ صَدَقَٰتِكُم بِٱلۡمَنِّ وَٱلۡأَذَىٰ كَٱلَّذِي

Render not vain your alms by taunt and injury.

وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ فِي ٱلۡبَأۡسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلۡبَأۡسِ ۗ

And the patient in poverty and afflictions and the steadfast in time of war;

ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِمۡ

And those who persevere in seeking the favour of their Lord.

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدۡ جَمَعُواْ لَكُمۡ فَٱخۡشَوۡهُمۡ فَزَادَهُمۡ إِيمَٰنٗا وَقَالُواْ حَسۡبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡوَكِيلُ

Those to whom men said, ‘People have mustered against you, therefore fear them,’ but this only increased their faith, and they said, ‘Sufficient for us is Allah, and an excellent Guardian is He.’

وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِهِم بَطَرٗا وَرِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ

And be not like those who came forth from their homes boastfully, and to be seen of men.

وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡخَوۡفِ وَٱلۡجُوعِ وَنَقۡصٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ وَٱلۡأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ

And We will try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives, and fruits; but give glad tidings to the patient,

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَٰبَتۡهُم مُّصِيبَةٞ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيۡهِ رَٰجِعُونَ

Who, when a misfortune overtakes them, say, ‘Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.’

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَلَوَٰتٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِمۡ وَرَحۡمَةٞ ۖ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُهۡتَدُونَ

It is these on whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy, and it is these who are rightly guided.

فَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلرِّجۡسَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَوۡثَٰنِ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ قَوۡلَ ٱلزُّورِ

Shun therefore the abomination of idols, and shun all words of untruth.

وَلَا يَأۡبَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءُ إِذَا مَا دُعُواْ ۚ

And the witnesses should not refuse when they are called.

وَلَا تَكۡتُمُواْ ٱلشَّهَٰدَةَ ۚ وَمَن يَكۡتُمۡهَا فَإِنَّهُۥٓ ءَاثِمٞ قَلۡبُهُۥ

And conceal not testimony; and whoever conceals it, his heart is certainly sinful.

وَإِذَا قُلۡتُمۡ فَٱعۡدِلُواْ وَلَوۡ كَانَ ذَا قُرۡبَىٰ ۖ

And when you speak, observe justice, even if the concerned person be a relative.

كُونُواْ قَوَّـٰمِينَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ شُهَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَوِ ٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ ۚ

Be strict in observing justice, and be witnesses for Allah, even though it be against yourselves or against parents and kindred.

وَلَا يَجۡرِمَنَّكُمۡ شَنَـَٔانُ قَوۡمٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعۡدِلُواْ

And let not a people’s enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice.

وَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقَٰتِ

And truthful men and truthful women.

وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ

And exhort one another to accept truth, and exhort one another to be steadfast.

لَا يَشۡهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ

Bear not false witness.

أُشۡرِبُواْ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡعِجۡلَ

Their hearts were permeated with the love of the calf .

وَرُسُلٗا قَدۡ قَصَصۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَيۡكَ مِن قَبۡلُ وَرُسُلٗا لَّمۡ نَقۡصُصۡهُمۡ عَلَيۡكَ ۚ

And We sent some Messengers whom We have already mentioned to thee some Messengers whom We have not mentioned to thee -

عَزِيزٌ عَلَيۡهِ مَا عَنِتُّمۡ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيۡكُم

grievous to him is that you should fall into trouble; he is ardently desirous of your welfare.

لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفۡسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ

Haply thou wilt grieve thyself to death because they believe not.

وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡمَرۡحَمَةِ

And exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to mercy.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَشَدُّ حُبّٗا لِّلَّهِ ۗ

Loving them as they should love Allah.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ ٱلۡيَهُودَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَۘ

O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for friends.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ بِطَانَةٗ مِّن دُونِكُمۡ

O ye who believe! take not others than your own people as intimate friends;

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ وَإِيتَآيِٕ ذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred;

لَّا يَنۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمۡ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ فِي ٱلدِّينِ وَلَمۡ يُخۡرِجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمۡ أَن تَبَرُّوهُمۡ وَتُقۡسِطُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِمۡ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُقۡسِطِينَ

Allah forbids you not, respecting those who have not fought against you on account of your religion, and who have not driven you forth from your homes, that you be kind to them and act equitably towards them; surely Allah loves those who are equitable.

إِنَّمَا يَنۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ قَٰتَلُوكُمۡ فِي ٱلدِّينِ وَأَخۡرَجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمۡ وَظَٰهَرُواْ عَلَىٰٓ إِخۡرَاجِكُمۡ أَن تَوَلَّوۡهُمۡ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُمۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

Allah only forbids you, respecting those who have fought against you on account of your religion, and have driven you out of your homes, and have helped others in driving you out, that you make friends of them, and whosoever makes friends of them — it is these that are the transgressors.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ

Verily, Allah enjoins justice.

بَلَىٰ ۚ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Nay, whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve.

وَإِيتَآيِٕ ذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ

And giving like kindred.

فَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَذِكۡرِكُمۡ ءَابَآءَكُمۡ أَوۡ أَشَدَّ ذِكۡرٗا ۗ

Celebrate the praises of Allah as you celebrated the praises of your fathers, or even more than that.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ وَإِيتَآيِٕ ذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ

Verily, Allah enjoins justice, and the doing of good to others; and giving like kindred.

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشۡرِي نَفۡسَهُ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ مَرۡضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفُۢ بِٱلۡعِبَادِ

And of men there is he who would sell himself to seek the pleasure of Allah; and Allah is Compassionate to His servants.

بَلَىٰ ۚ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Nay, whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve.

وَيُطۡعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسۡكِينٗا وَيَتِيمٗا وَأَسِيرًا

And they feed, for love of Him, the poor, the orphan, and the prisoner,

إِنَّمَا نُطۡعِمُكُمۡ لِوَجۡهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمۡ جَزَآءٗ وَلَا شُكُورًا

Saying, ‘We feed you for Allah’s pleasure only. We desire no reward nor thanks from you.

فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve.

فَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَذِكۡرِكُمۡ ءَابَآءَكُمۡ أَوۡ أَشَدَّ ذِكۡرٗا ۗ

Celebrate the praises of Allah as you celebrated the praises of your fathers, or even more than that.

أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ

Submits himself completely to Allah.

يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ

And thou, O soul at peace!

ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗ

Return to thy Lord well pleased with Him and He well pleased with thee.

فَٱدۡخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِي

So enter thou among My chosen servants,

وَٱدۡخُلِي جَنَّتِي

And enter thou My Garden.

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ كَتَبَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡإِيمَٰنَ وَأَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٖ مِّنۡهُ ۖ

These are they in whose hearts Allah has inscribed true faith and whom He has strengthened with inspiration from Himself.

وَزَيَّنَهُۥ فِي قُلُوبِكُمۡ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ وَٱلۡفُسُوقَ وَٱلۡعِصۡيَانَ ۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلرَّـٰشِدُونَ

But Allah has endeared the faith to you and has made it look beautiful to your hearts, and He has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience hateful to you.

فَضۡلٗا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَنِعۡمَةٗ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ

Through the grace and favour of Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, Wise.

جَآءَ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ ٱلۡبَٰطِلُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلۡبَٰطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقٗا

‘Truth has come and falsehood has vanished away. Falsehood does indeed vanish away .fast.’

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Gracious, the Merciful,

مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Master of the Day of Judgment.

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure.

قُلۡ إِن كَانَ ءَابَآؤُكُمۡ وَأَبۡنَآؤُكُمۡ وَإِخۡوَٰنُكُمۡ وَأَزۡوَٰجُكُمۡ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمۡ وَأَمۡوَٰلٌ ٱقۡتَرَفۡتُمُوهَا وَتِجَٰرَةٞ تَخۡشَوۡنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَٰكِنُ تَرۡضَوۡنَهَآ أَحَبَّ إِلَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَجِهَادٖ فِي سَبِيلِهِۦ فَتَرَبَّصُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ

Say, if your fathers, and your sons, and your brethren, and your wives, and your kinsfolk, and the wealth you have acquired, and the trade whose dullness you fear, and the dwellings which you love are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger and striving in His cause, then wait until Allah comes with His judgment; and Allah guides not the disobedient people.

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ

Surely, success does come to the believers,

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِي صَلَاتِهِمۡ خَٰشِعُونَ

Who are humble in their Prayers,

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَٰعُونَ

And who are watchful of their trusts and their covenants,

لِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ

Raiment of righteousness .

فَكَسَوۡنَا ٱلۡعِظَٰمَ لَحۡمٗا

We clothed the bones with flesh.

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمۡ يُحَافِظُونَ

And who are strict in the observance of their Prayers.

وَلَقَدۡ هَمَّتۡ بِهِۦ ۖ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوۡلَآ أَن رَّءَا بُرۡهَٰنَ رَبِّهِۦ

And she made up her mind with regard to him, and he made up his mind with regard to her. If he had not seen a manifest Sign of his Lord.

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُواْ قَرۡيَةً أَفۡسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوٓاْ أَعِزَّةَ أَهۡلِهَآ أَذِلَّةٗ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَفۡعَلُونَ

‘Surely, kings, when they enter a country, despoil it, and turn the highest of its people into the lowest. And thus will they do.

إِنَّا عَرَضۡنَا ٱلۡأَمَانَةَ عَلَى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱلۡجِبَالِ فَأَبَيۡنَ أَن يَحۡمِلۡنَهَا وَأَشۡفَقۡنَ مِنۡهَا وَحَمَلَهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ ظَلُومٗا جَهُولٗا

Verily, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to bear it and were afraid of it. But man bore it. Indeed, he is capable of being unjust to, and neglectful of, himself.

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَٰعُونَ

And who are watchful of their trusts and their covenants,

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَٰعُونَ

And who are watchful of their trusts and their covenants,

سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Holy is He and exalted far above what they attribute to Him!

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَلَمۡ يَلۡبِسُوٓاْ إِيمَٰنَهُم بِظُلۡمٍ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡأَمۡنُ وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ

Those who believe and mix not up their belief with injustice — it is they who shall have peace, and who are rightly guided.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

ثُمَّ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُ خَلۡقًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ

We developed it into another creation.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

Those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you.'

لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفۡسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ

Haply thou wilt grieve thyself to death because they believe not.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

That Allah is surely independent of all creatures.

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا ۚ

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ

Say, ‘If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you.'

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَٱلصَّـٰبِـِٔينَ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَلَهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ

Surely, the Believers, and the Jews, and the Christians and the Sabians — whichever party from among these truly believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds — shall have their reward with their Lord.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيَقُولُونَ نُؤۡمِنُ بِبَعۡضٖ وَنَكۡفُرُ بِبَعۡضٖ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَّخِذُواْ بَيۡنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا

Surely, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and desire to make a distinction between Allah and His Messengers, and say, ‘We believe in some and disbelieve in others,’ and desire to take a way in between,

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ حَقّٗا ۚ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٗا مُّهِينٗا

These indeed are veritable disbelievers, and We have prepared for the disbelievers an humiliating punishment.

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you.

فَٱذۡهَبۡ أَنتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَٰتِلَآ إِنَّا هَٰهُنَا قَٰعِدُونَ

Therefore, go thou and thy Lord and fight, and here we sit.’

لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفۡسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ

Haply thou wilt grieve thyself to death because they believe not.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

وَءَاوَيۡنَٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبۡوَةٖ ذَاتِ قَرَارٖ وَمَعِينٖ

And gave them refuge on an elevated land of green valleys and springs of running water.

وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗ

But he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.

مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٖ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗ

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets

لَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا

He reveals not His secrets to any one,

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٖ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

كُنتُمۡ خَيۡرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind-

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

فَلَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا

And He reveals not His secrets to any one.

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٖ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِي

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you-

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ

This day have I perfected (your religion for you).

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَقَفَّيۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ بِٱلرُّسُلِ ۖ

And verily, We gave Moses the Book and caused after him Messengers to follow in his footsteps;

ثُمَّ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتۡرَا ۖ

Then We sent Our Messengers one after another.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ

But they who will disbelieve and treat Our Signs as lies, these shall be the inmates of the Fire; therein shall they abide.

وَكَلَّمَ ٱللَّهُ مُوسَىٰ تَكۡلِيمٗا

And Allah spoke to Moses particularly-

وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ

Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious.

وَكُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

And be with the truthful.

وَكُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

And be with the truthful.

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأۡتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجۡرِمٗا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

Verily, he who comes to his Lord a sinner — for him is Hell; he shall neither die therein nor live.

يُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ

And teaches them the Book and wisdom.

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

بَلۡ هُوَ ءَايَٰتُۢ بَيِّنَٰتٞ فِي صُدُورِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ ۚ

Nay, it is a collection of clear Signs in the hearts of those who are given knowledge.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

وَأَمَّا مَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ فَيَمۡكُثُ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

But as to that which benefits men, it stays on the earth.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا

And as for those who strive in Our path — We will surely guide them in Our ways.

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ-

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them.

وَلَا يَزَالُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ تُصِيبُهُم بِمَا صَنَعُواْ قَارِعَةٌ أَوۡ تَحُلُّ قَرِيبٗا مِّن دَارِهِمۡ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَ وَعۡدُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخۡلِفُ ٱلۡمِيعَادَ

And as for those who disbelieve, disaster shall not cease to befall them for what they have wrought or to alight near their home, until the promise of Allah comes to pass. Surely, Allah fails not in His promise.

وَمَا كُنَّا مُعَذِّبِينَ حَتَّىٰ نَبۡعَثَ رَسُولٗا

We never punish until We have sent a Messenger.

وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗ

But he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.

وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِينَ

Nor shall they ever be ejected therefrom.

قِيلَ ٱدۡخُلِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ

It was said to him, ‘Enter Paradise.

وَٱدۡخُلِي جَنَّتِي

And enter thou My Garden.

لَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَنزَلۡنَا مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ ٱلنَّاسُ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ ۖ وَأَنزَلۡنَا ٱلۡحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأۡسٞ شَدِيدٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعۡلَمَ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُۥ وَرُسُلَهُۥ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٞ

Verily, We sent Our Messengers with manifest Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance that people may act with justice; and We sent down iron, wherein is material for violent warfare and many benefits for mankind, and that Allah may distinguish those who help Him and His Messengers without having seen Him. Surely, Allah is Powerful, Mighty.

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ

Surely, We sent it down on the Night of Destiny.

ذِكۡرٗا

Sent down to you a Reminder-

رَّسُولٗا

A Messenger

فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

So ask those who possess the Reminder, if you know not.

وَكُنتُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ شَهِيدٗا مَّا دُمۡتُ فِيهِمۡ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِي كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ

.’ And I was a witness over them as long as I remained among them, but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them; and Thou art Witness over all things.

ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِي كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ۚ

Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them.

يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself.

قُلۡ يَتَوَفَّىٰكُم مَّلَكُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ

Say, ‘The angel of death that has been put in charge of you will cause you to die;

ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ

Those whom the angels cause to die while they are pure.

ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ ۖ

Those whom the angels cause to die while they are wronging their souls.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِي كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

But since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them.

مَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٞ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِيْن مَّاتَ أَوۡ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبۡتُمۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَعۡقَٰبِكُمۡ

Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him. If then he die or be slain, will you turn back on your heels?

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَ

We granted not everlasting life to any human being before thee.

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ جَسَدٗا لَّا يَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُواْ خَٰلِدِينَ

And We did not give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they to live for ever.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَخۡلُقُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُمۡ يُخۡلَقُونَ

And those on whom they call beside Allah create not anything, but they are themselves created.

أَمۡوَٰتٌ غَيۡرُ أَحۡيَآءٖ ۖ وَمَا يَشۡعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبۡعَثُونَ

They are dead, not living; and they know not when they will be raised.

يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ ۖ

‘O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself, and will clear thee from the charges of those who disbelieve, and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection;

وَأَوۡصَٰنِي بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ مَا دُمۡتُ حَيّٗا

وَبَرَّۢا بِوَٰلِدَتِي

‘And He has made me dutiful toward my mother.

مُبَشِّرَۢا بِرَسُولٖ يَأۡتِي مِنۢ بَعۡدِي ٱسۡمُهُۥٓ أَحۡمَدُ ۖ

And giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.’

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِي

But since Thou didst cause me to die.

قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ

Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him.

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you.

وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗ

The Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets;

مَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٞ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ

Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِي

But since Thou didst cause me to die.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيۡتَنِي

But since Thou didst cause me to die.

قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ

Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him.

وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِينَ

Nor shall they ever be ejected therefrom.

وَبِكُفۡرِهِمۡ وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ عَلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ بُهۡتَٰنًا عَظِيمٗا

And because of their disbelief and their uttering against Mary a grievous calumny,

وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ إِنَّا قَتَلۡنَا ٱلۡمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمۡ

And their saying, ‘We did kill the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah;’ whereas they slew him not, nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified;

صَرۡحٞ مُّمَرَّدٞ مِّن قَوَارِيرَ

Palace paved smooth with slabs of glass.

ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَمۡ يَتَّخِذۡ وَلَدٗا وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ شَرِيكٞ فِي ٱلۡمُلۡكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيۡءٖ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ تَقۡدِيرٗا

He to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And He has taken unto Himself no son, and has no partner in the kingdom, and has created everything, and has ordained for it its proper measure.

وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةٗ لَّا يَخۡلُقُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُمۡ يُخۡلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمۡلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمۡ ضَرّٗا وَلَا نَفۡعٗا وَلَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مَوۡتٗا وَلَا حَيَوٰةٗ وَلَا نُشُورٗا

Yet they have taken beside Him gods, who create nothing but are themselves created, and who have no power to harm or benefit themselves and they control not death nor life nor resurrection.

فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحۡسَنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقِينَ

So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators.

ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَلِّغُونَ رِسَٰلَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَخۡشَوۡنَهُۥ وَلَا يَخۡشَوۡنَ أَحَدًا إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ ۗ

Those who delivered the Messages of Allah and feared Him, and feared none but Allah.

قُلۡ يَٰعِبَادِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسۡرَفُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ لَا تَقۡنَطُواْ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغۡفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا

Say, “O My servants who have committed excesses against their own souls! despair not of the mercy of Allah, surely Allah forgives all sins

وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمۡ ۚ

, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified.

وَءَاوَيۡنَٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبۡوَةٖ ذَاتِ قَرَارٖ وَمَعِينٖ

And gave them refuge on an elevated land of green valleys and springs of running water.

وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيۡنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوۡصَٰنِي

‘And He has made me blessed wheresoever I may be.

لَّهُمۡ عَذَابٞ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَشَقُّ ۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَاقٖ

For them is a punishment in the present life; and, surely, the punishment of the Hereafter is harder, and they will have no defender against Allah.

قَالَ أَنظِرۡنِيٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ

He said, ‘Grant me respite till the day when they will be raised up.’

قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ

God said, ‘Thou shalt be of those who are given respite.’

مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ

And they shall hasten forth from every height.

لَخَلۡقُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَكۡبَرُ مِنۡ خَلۡقِ ٱلنَّاسِ

Certainly, the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind;

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,

نَّفَّـٰثَٰتِ فِي ٱلۡعُقَدِ

Who blow into knots.

وَيَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَن ذِي ٱلۡقَرۡنَيۡنِ ۖ قُلۡ سَأَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكُم مِّنۡهُ ذِكۡرًا

And they ask thee about Dhu’l Qarnain. Say, ‘I will certainly recite to you something of his story.’

إِنَّا مَكَّنَّا لَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ مِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ سَبَبٗا

We established him in the earth and gave him the means to accomplish everything.

ثُمَّ أَتۡبَعَ سَبَبًا

Then he followed another way

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَطۡلِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسِ وَجَدَهَا تَطۡلُعُ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ لَّمۡ نَجۡعَل لَّهُم مِّن دُونِهَا سِتۡرٗا

Until, when he reached the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had made no shelter against it.

كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَقَدۡ أَحَطۡنَا بِمَا لَدَيۡهِ خُبۡرٗا

Thus indeed it was. Verily, We encompassed with Our knowledge all that was with him.

وَجَدَهَا تَغۡرُبُ فِي عَيۡنٍ حَمِئَةٖ

He found it setting in a pool of murky water,

۞وَتَرَكۡنَا بَعۡضَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَمُوجُ فِي بَعۡضٖ ۖ وَنُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَجَمَعۡنَٰهُمۡ جَمۡعٗا

And on that day We shall leave some of them to surge against others, and the trumpet will be blown. Then shall We gather them all together.

وَعَرَضۡنَا جَهَنَّمَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَرۡضًا

And on that day We shall present Hell, face to face, to the disbelievers —

ٱلَّذِينَ كَانَتۡ أَعۡيُنُهُمۡ فِي غِطَآءٍ عَن ذِكۡرِي وَكَانُواْ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ سَمۡعًا

Whose eyes were under a veil so as not to heed My warning, and they could not even hear.

غُلِبَتِ ٱلرُّومُ

The Romans have been defeated,

فِيٓ أَدۡنَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ غَلَبِهِمۡ سَيَغۡلِبُونَ

In the land nearby, and they, after their defeat, will be victorious.

وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ

They shall hasten forth from every height.

يُحَرِّفُونَ ٱلۡكَلِمَ عَن مَّوَاضِعِهِۦ

Who pervert words from their proper places.

عَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ ۚ

And consort with them in kindness;

عَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ

Consort with them in kindness.

عَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ

Consort with them in kindness.

وَعَلَى ٱلۡمَوۡلُودِ لَهُۥ رِزۡقُهُنَّ وَكِسۡوَتُهُنَّ

And the man to whom the child belongs shall be responsible for their (the mothers’) food and clothing according to usage.

عَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ

Consort with them in kindness.

نِسَآؤُكُمۡ حَرۡثٞ لَّكُمۡ فَأۡتُواْ حَرۡثَكُمۡ أَنَّىٰ شِئۡتُمۡ ۖ

Your wives are a tilth for you; so approach your tilth when and how you like.

وَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا تُقۡسِطُواْ فِي ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ فَٱنكِحُواْ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ مَثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَٰثَ وَرُبَٰعَ ۖ فَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا تَعۡدِلُواْ فَوَٰحِدَةً أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَدۡنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعُولُواْ

And if you fear that you will not be fair in dealing with the orphans, then marry of women as may be agreeable to you, two, or three, or four; and if you fear you will not deal justly, then marry only one or what your right hands possess. That is the nearest way for you to avoid injustice.

وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ

And consort with them in kindness.

وَلَهُنَّ مِثۡلُ ٱلَّذِي عَلَيۡهِنَّ

And they (the women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them in equity;

ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّـٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ

Men are guardians over women.

ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّـٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ

Men are guardians over women.

قُل لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَغُضُّواْ مِنۡ أَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ وَيَحۡفَظُواْ فُرُوجَهُمۡ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَزۡكَىٰ لَهُمۡ ۚ

Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts. That is purer for them.

وَلَا تَهِنُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَوۡنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ

Slacken not, nor grieve; and you shall certainly have the upper hand, if you are believers.

لَن يَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ سَبِيلًا

And Allah will not grant the disbelievers a way to prevail against the believers.

إِنَّهُۥ مَن يَأۡتِ رَبَّهُۥ مُجۡرِمٗا فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ

Verily, he who comes to his Lord a sinner — for him is Hell; he shall neither die therein nor live.

لَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا

He reveals not His secrets to any one,

إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٖ

Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ

And follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge.

فِيهَا تَحۡيَوۡنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ

‘Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die.

لَهُمُ ٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا

For them are glad tidings in the present life.

وَأَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٖ مِّنۡهُ

Whom He has strengthened with inspiration from Himself.

يَجۡعَل لَّكُمۡ فُرۡقَانٗا

He will grant you a distinction .

وَقَالُواْ لَن يَدۡخُلَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَن كَانَ هُودًا أَوۡ نَصَٰرَىٰ ۗ تِلۡكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمۡ ۗ قُلۡ هَاتُواْ بُرۡهَٰنَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

And they say, ‘None shall ever enter Heaven unless he be a Jew or a Christian.’ These are their vain desires. Say, ‘Produce your proof, if you are truthful.’

بَلَىٰ ۚ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Nay, whoever submits himself completely to Allah, and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord. No fear shall come upon such, neither shall they grieve.

قُلۡ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحۡيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Say, ‘My Prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are all for Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُۥ ۖ وَبِذَٰلِكَ أُمِرۡتُ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ

‘He has no partner. And so am I commanded, and I am the first of those who submit.’

أَلَآ إِنَّ أَوۡلِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

Behold! the friends of Allah shall certainly have no fear, nor shall they grieve —

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ

Those who believed and kept to righteousness —

لَهُمُ ٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ ۚ لَا تَبۡدِيلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

For them are glad tidings in the present life and also in the Hereafter — there is no changing the words of Allah; that indeed is the supreme triumph.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ

As for those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then remain steadfast, the angels descend on them, saying: ‘Fear ye not, nor grieve; and rejoice in the Garden that you were promised.

نَحۡنُ أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَشۡتَهِيٓ أَنفُسُكُمۡ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ

‘We are your friends in this life and in the Hereafter. Therein you will have all that your souls will desire, and therein you will have all that you will ask for —

نُزُلٗا مِّنۡ غَفُورٖ رَّحِيمٖ

‘An entertainment from the Most Forgiving, the Merciful.’

تُؤۡتِيٓ أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينِۭ

It brings forth its fruit at all times.

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلۡيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِي لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡشُدُونَ

And when My servants ask thee about Me, say: ‘I am near. I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way.’

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِن تَتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّكُمۡ فُرۡقَانٗا

O ye who believe! if you fear Allah, He will grant you a distinction.

يُصِبۡكُم بَعۡضُ ٱلَّذِي يَعِدُكُمۡ ۖ

then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you.

إِن يَكُ صَادِقٗا يُصِبۡكُم بَعۡضُ ٱلَّذِي يَعِدُكُمۡ ۖ

if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you.
