Qaumah 3 My understanding is that as far as the appropriate- ness of apparent actions goes, Sajdah is the next step after Ruk u ‘. However, if we go directly from Ruk u ‘ into Sajdah, the clearness of the distinction between standing and Sajdah is not created. The splendor of humility in Sajdah cannot be created until a person falls into prostration from the standing posture. Thus, in reality, this (Qaumah) is an interlude. When we stand for a second time after saying, “Allah hears him who praises Him” ( ُ سَمِع َ هللا ُ لِمَن ْ حَمِدَه ), it is a pause between Ruk u ‘ and Sajdah.
