PRAYERS 10 Prophet sa said that whosoever recites this prayer, which Hadrat Y u nus as (Jonnah) offered in the belly of the whale, his prayer will be accepted. It is in the traditions that there is a promise of َ َ ک ِ ﺬ َ اﻟ ُک ۡ ﻧ ِ ﻨ w ُۡ ۡامل ِ ﺆ ِ ﻣ َْ ﻨ ني (Thus do We deliver those who believe). Whosoever confesses his transgression will have his prayers accepted. 13 َ َﻻ َّإِﻟَﻪ َإِﻻ ٰأَﻧْﺖ َ ﺳُﺒْﺤ ِّﻨَﻚ ُإِين َﻛُﻨْﺖ ّٰﻣِﻦ َْ اﻟﻈ ﻠِﻤِني. (Al-Anbiy a ’ 21:88) There is no God but You, Holy are You. I have indeed been of the wrongdoers. 19. Prayer for Attaining Strength whilst Confronting Evil When the wife of ‘Az i z of Egypt conspired with her friends to incline Hadrat Y u suf as (Joseph) towards evil he offered this humble prayer, acceptance of which is mentioned in the Holy Qur’ a n. God saved Hadrat Y u suf as (Joseph) from the evil designs of the women. ِّ ُرَب ُّاﻟﺴِّﺠْﻦ ََّأَﺣَﺐ إِيل ْممَِّﺎ ِْ ﻳَﺪْﻋُﻮ ِﻧَين َّإِﻟَﻴْﻪ ْوَإِﻻ ِّْﺗَﺼْﺮِف 2ََّين ُﻛَﻴْﺪَﻫُﻦ َّأَﺻْﺐ ْإِﻟَﻴْﻬِﻦ ِّوَأَﻛُﻦ َ ﻣ ْٰﻦ َْ اجل ﻬِﻠِني. (Y u suf 12:34) O My Lord, I would prefer prison to that which they invite me; and unless You turn away their guile from me I shall incline towards them and be of the ignorant. 20. Prayer for Recovery from Disease Hadrat Ay yu b as (Job) prayed for recovery from his grave illness. With the following words he begged mercy. This prayer was accepted and he was miraculously cured. ِّْ َِأَين ُّﻣَﺴَّين َاﻟﻀُّﺮ ُوَأَﻧْﺖ ّٰأَرْﺣَﻢ اﻟﺮ ْ ﺣﻤ . (Al-Anbiy a ’ 21:84) Affliction has touched me and You are the Most Merciful of all who show mercy.
