PRAYERS 205 Some Special Prayers for Difficult Times The Promised Messiah as advised Hadrat Naw a b Muhammad ‘Al i Kh a n Sahib ra regarding prayers during difficult times. He said: “Recite اِﻻَّﺑِﺎﻟﻠªّٰ ِ اﻟْﻌَ_ ِِّ اﻟْﻌَﻈِﻴْﻢ ة َّ ﻻَﺣَﻮْل َ وَﻻَﻗُﻮ eleven times after every s al a t with great humility. After the night prayer recite ' Dur u d ' at least forty one times and then offer two rak‘ a t of nafal. In every prostration repeat ُ ﻳَﺎÁ َُّ ﻳَﺎﻗَﻴُّﻮْم ُ ﺑِﺮَمحَْﺘِک َ اَﺳْﺘَﻐِﻴْﺚ at least three times. Upon finishing s al a t pray for yourself. ” (Makt u b a t-e-Ahmadiyya, vol. 7, part 1, page 33) Revealed Prayer for Deliverance from Misery and Affliction In approximately the year 1880, the Promised Messiah as was suffering from severe colic dysentery for sixteen days. As this disease had taken the life of another person only after eight days the Promised Messiah as 's family lost hope of his survival and even recited S u rah Y a s i n for his soul three times. He writes: "As God taught some of his prophets, prayers for deliverance from calamities, He taught me this prayer through a revelation. So accordingly I brushed my hands over my chest, back, hands and face after dipping them in the river water in which sand was also mixed and recited this prayer: ٍﺳُﺒْﺤَﺎن َ اﻟﻠªّٰ ِ وَحبَِﻤْﺪِہ ﺳُﺒْﺤَﺎن َ اﻟﻠªّٰ ِ اﻟْﻌَﻈِﻴْﻢ ِ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢ َّ ﺻَﻞ ِّ 2َ_ ٰ حمَُﻤَّﺪ وَّاٰلِ حمَُﻤَّﺪ.
