۱۴ مئی ۱۹۵۳ء کو ترجمہ قرآن کا پہلا اخبار ایسٹ افریقن سٹینڈرڈ میں فصل خبر تو تیار ہوا اور بیٹی ۱۹۵۲ء کو نیروبی کے اخبار ایسٹ افریقین سٹینڈرڈ (East African Standard) نے پریس کی طرف سے اس کے پہلے نسخہ کے پیش کئے جانے کی تقریب کا فوٹومع اس کی تفصیلی خبر کے شائع کیا جو یہ تھی۔Holy Quran in Swahili and Arabic Published Seventeen years ago Sheikh Mubarak Ahmad, the Amir and Chief Missionary of the East African Ahmad- iyya Muslim Mission, set himself the task of translating the whole of the Holy Quran from Arabic into Swahili۔On Thursday his work was completed when the first copy of his translation, in a presentation binding, was handed to him by Mr۔C۔B۔Anderson, Managing Director of the East African Standard, Ltd۔, after the 1,100 pages of the book had taken over three months in the printing۔Mainly for distribution through the Muslim mis- sions working in East Africa and the Belgian Congo, 10,000 copies have been published۔The first copy of the Quran, which has the Arabic text alongside the Swahili translation, will be sent to the head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim movement, Hazrat Mirza Bashirud-Din Mahmud Ahmad۔at his headquar- ters in Rabwah, West Pakistan۔Other copies will go to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr۔Mohammad Ali, and to the Foreign Minister, Mr۔Zafrullah Khan۔STUPENDOUS WORK: Receiving the first copy۔Sheikh Ahmad said that when he had finished his trans- lation, he was confronted with the problem of its print- ing۔With the Arabic original retained, it was a novel
