The blade of the sword needs an arm to cause blood to flow, And the head to be severed from the body. Even if the edge of the sword is sharp, It will result in defeat if handed over to a weak and frail child. But when a brave man holds a sharp sword, his first attack never needs a second, As he would slay his enemy with the first strike. When taqw a in a person diminishes, his ability to infer and deduce, From he Word of God decreases like the last night of the month that has no light. I can only pity this situation! Where is taqw a and where is the land that will generate it?! I see only sinfulness upon sinfulness being manifested. I see such overwhelming darkness that I wish I had died before wit- nessing it, And partaken of the chalice of death; or I had been helped.
