48 In the Old and the New Testaments as well, the کَلِمَۃ هللا — kalima- tull a h [word of Allah] has been used in the meaning of word of God and the command of God. Hearken! ا ھ ع جنود ی ه جم ی بكلمة الرب ثبت السموات وبروح ف By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. —Psalms 33:6 ی ناثان النب ی لمة هللا عل ک لة حلت ی تلك ال ی ان ف ک فلما And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to N a th a n, the Prophet—1 Akhb a r al-Ayy a m 17:3 [1 Chronicles 17:3] ة ی ا في البر ی ر ک وحنا بن ز ی ی لمة الرب عل ک حلت The word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. —Luke 3:2 There are many other such expressions in the previous holy scrip- tures. If something could be Allah precisely by virtue of being کَلِمَۃ هللا — kalimatull a h, then all those complete sentences that came to the Prophets, peace be upon them all, and their holy follow- ers by way of Divine discourse and communications from their Lord, should all be God. May Allah protect us! The reality is that before the birth of the Messiah, peace be upon him, Allah the Exalted communicated a word of glad tiding concerning him to his mother, the Ever Truthful Mary, peace be upon her, and told her about his birth, or it was for the reason that he was bestowed
