Sometimes he would ask one per- son to find something, and sometimes he would point to someone else, asking him, ‘Do tell me something, please, brother?’ There were many present [accompanying him]. Sometimes one person snatched the Quran from his hand, and sometimes he snatched the Quran back. Of course, there was nothing to be found. Panicked, he said, ‘Well, َكُعِفاَر َكُعِفاَر [ r a fi‘uka —‘will exalt thee’] 1 is written. ’ The Meaning of Rafa‘a The Promised Messiah as said: The meaning of َكُعِفاَر َكُعِفاَر —[ r a fi‘uka— ‘exalt thee’] here is the same as the meaning in: 2 ُهٰنْعَفَر اًناَكَم اًّيِلَع ُهٰنْعَفَر اًناَكَم اًّيِلَع Muslims make this same prayer every day concerning the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that he may be bestowed َ رَفَع َ رَفَع [ rafa‘a—‘ exaltation’]; so does it mean that he ascends to the heavens with his physical body?
