178 With Love to Muhammad sa the Kh ā tam-un-Nabiyy ī n ِْ ىف َ ﺑَﻌَﺚ ْ اذلَِّى َ ﻫُﻮ ْ وَﻳُﺰَﻛِّهيِْﻢ ٖ اٰﻳٰﺘِﻪ ْ ﻋَﻠَهيِْﻢ ﻳَﺘْﻠُﻮْا ْ ﻣِّهنُْﻢ ً رَﺳُﻮْﻻ َّٖ اﻻُْﻣِّني َ وَاﻟْﺤِمكَْﺔ َ اﻟْﻜِﺘٰﺐ ُ وَﻳُﻌَﻠِّﻤُﻬُﻢ ٍْۙ ﻣُّﺒِني ٍ ﺿَﻠٰﻞ ْ ﻟَﻔِﻰ ُ ﻗَﺒْﻞ ْ ﻣِﻦ اكَﻧُﻮْا ْ وَاِن ْ هبِِﻢ ﻳَﻠْﺤَﻘُﻮْا ﻟَﻤَّﺎ ْ ﻣِهنُْﻢ َ ؕوَّاٰﺧَﺮِﻳْﻦ ُْ اﻟْﺤَﻜِمي ُ اﻟْﻌَﺰِﻳْﺰ َ وَﻫُﻮ Meaning: That Gracious God is that God who sent a messenger among the unlettered people from among them, who recites unto them His verses, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and Wisdom, although they had been, before, in manifest misguidance. And in the same way, that Messenger, who is training them, shall train another group who shall become a part of them and shall develop the same excellences but they have not yet joined them. And God is Mighty and Wise. Here, it should be remembered that the word َ اٰﺧَﺮِﻳْﻦ in the verse ﻟَﻤَّﺎ ْ ﻣِهنُْﻢ َ واٰﺧَﺮِﻳْﻦ ْ هبِِﻢ ﻳَﻠْﺤَﻘُﻮْا is maf‘ ū l [object]. It is as if the entire verse, with its preceding words, is this: a اMتہ a مgic@ a Mتcوا a geGم a ر:وﻻ a اﻻiiGن a B a ب]ث a اFذی a Kو a M]cم a و a اFحdaۃ a و a اaFتاب a مgdc]M a و a MزgiDم a و a اﻻٓخر Mن بgم a cMح`وا a dFا a geGم Meaning, other than the sah ā ba ra [companions], there are others who are Our sincere and perfect men, a large group of whom shall be born in the Latter Days. The way the Holy Prophet sa trained the sah ā ba ra , he shall also train this group, indirectly. This means that those people shall come in a period in which direct provision or receipt of help shall be no more. The religion of Isl ā m shall become filled with many
