Statements of Hazrat Muhy-ud-d ī n Ibn ‘Arab ī rh 177 This verse shows that he will be instructed through the spiritual power of the Holy Prophet sa , and will, in this sense, be one of the companions. This verse is further explained by the had ī th : Dان a Fو a Bارس a Gن a رجل a eFاFہ a باFثر Mا a `اc]G a اﻻdMان 183 Here the quality which was particularized in the Promised Messiah and Mahd ī has been attributed to this man from Persia. This quality is to replenish the earth with justice after it has been filled with wrongdoing and has become empty of faith and the belief in the Unity of God. Thus, this man is the Promised Messiah and Mahd ī ; and I am he. Just as the prophesied eclipse of the sun and the moon in the month of Ramad ā n has not occurred during the time of any other person claiming to be Mahdi, likewise, during the thirteen hundred years that have elapsed since the time of the Holy Prophet sa , no one has claimed, on the basis of divine revelation, to be ‘the Man of Persia’ about whom the had ī th says that he will bring faith down from heaven. 184 To clarify this issue further, the Promised Messiah as explains the grammatical structure of the related verses to prove the soundness of his commentary in the following quotation: 183 Had faith ascended to the Pleiades, it would be brought down by aman from among the Persians.
