Statements of Prophet Muhammad sa 109 Khan and it is wrong. All ā ma Ibn Al-Anb ā r ī said, “ a اdFتبع a G]eاہ نiiبecF ” (Its meaning is, “one who is followed by the prophets”) 99. This meaning itself requires that prophets come after the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa as his followers! Presenting these ah ā d ī th in support of the cessation of prophethood is absolute ignorance of the Arabic language. Consider the following verse of the Holy Qur’ ā n: َ و َ اﻟْﻜِﺘٰﺐ َ ﻣُﻮْىس اٰﺗَﻴْﻨَﺎ ْ ﻟَﻘَﺪ َ و ﻗَﻔَّﻴْﻨَﺎ ِ ابِﻟﺮُّﺳُﻞ ٖ ﺑَﻌْﺪِﻩ ْۢ ﻣِﻦ And verily, We gave Moses the Book and caused after him Messengers to follow in his footsteps. . . 100 Here, the word Qaffain ā [ We caused (messengers after him) to follow in his footsteps ] has been applied to Hazrat M ū s ā as and it has the same root as the word muqaff ā [ the one who is followed (by the prophets) ]. He translates Al-Muqaff ā as “last,” Al- Kh ā tim as “last” and Al-‘ Ā qib as “last. ” In other words, he is trying to say that the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa wanted to continuously repeat the word “last” and had no other meanings in mind. This is an insult against the fas ī h [ eloquent ] speech of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa. He would never make such childish repetitions to say something so simple. Farhan Khan’s desperation grows as he compromises his own integrity to grab anything within reach to invalidate the 99 Al-Ikm ā l Al-Akm ā l , Sharah Muslim, Volume 2, Page 143 100 S ū rah Al-Baqarah, 2:88
