Muhammad Zafrulla Khan 77 ash-hadu all ā il ā ha illall ā hu : I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah. wa ash-hadu anna muhammadan ‘abduh ū wa ras ū luh : And I bear witness that Muhammad is His perfect Servant and His Messenger (bearing a reflection of His attributes). all ā humma salli ‘al ā muhammadin wa ‘al ā ā li muhammadin kam ā sallaita ‘al ā ibr ā h ī ma wa ‘al ā ā li ibr ā h ī ma innaka ham ī dum-maj ī d : Bless, O Allah, Muhammad and the people of Muhammad (bestow upon them similar rewards), as Thou didst bless Abraham and the people of Abraham. Thou art indeed the Praiseworthy, the Gracious. In the second “ Assal ā tu ‘Alannab ī ” the word ‘ Salli ’ is replaced by ‘ B ā rak ’, which means ‘to bless with prosperity. ’ You know that in the first two raka’ ā t after Surah F ā tihah a portion of the Holy Qur’ ā n is read. After the Assal ā tu ‘Alannab ī some prayers in the tradition [of the Holy Prophet, ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam,] are said. In sal ā t , one can also pray in one’s own language. Below is the translation of a short chapter ( S ū rah Ikhl ā s ) and a few prayers known to be the practice of the Prophet, ” allall ā hu ‘alaihi wa sallam. [Beginning with tasmiyyah mentioned earlier. ] K ¬G ä G } H FOZ G ÂH M áH– [ qul huwall ā hu ahad :] Say, He is Allah, the One. H ¬G¿R³ ö O Z H FOZ [ all ā hus-samad :] The Independent and Besought of all. M ¬G ö ÂH † M âG ö G y M ¬I¾G † M âG ö [ lam yalid, wa lam y ū lad :] He begets not, nor is He begotten. K ¬G ä G } ZJÂH¹H ò H äR ö ãH¼G † M âG ö G y [ wa lam yakullah ū kufuwan ahad :] And, there is none like unto him.
