Ú ö à ø  $ h º : (pass. part. ): One who is punished. Ú ö à ø  $ eô n» à ø (plural) (26:139).  ø  ø  ø [aor. mø à »  ô  ö inf. noun  ö  »  º and Ú ø à »  ô  ø é º ]  ø  ø  ø å ü : He excused or cleared him from blame; he exculpated him; he accepted his excuse.  ø  ø  ø also means, he was guilty of many crimes so as to render him excusable who punishes him. ]ô  » jø  ø  ø (inf. noun ]ô  » jô  ø ]  º ) : He excused himself; he adduced or urged an excuse or a plea for himself. ]ô  » jø  ø  ø ]ô Öø o $ : He excused himself to me; he begged me to accept his excuse. ]ô  » jø  ø  ø Ú ô à »  ø Þ» fô ä´ (and iø à ø  $  ø ) : He asserted himself to be clear of his crime, sin or misdeed. mø à » jø  ô  ö æ » á ø ]ô Öø n» Ó ö Ü » : They will make excuses to you (9:94). It is said that the primary meaning of ]ø » ô  » jô  ø ]  ö is the cutting of a man off from the object of his want and from that to which he clings in his heart. ]ô  » jø  ø  ø may also mean, he excused himself for not complying with a claim or request. It also means, he did not adduce an excuse (cont. signification); ]ô  » jø  ø  ø Ú ô ß» ä ö also means, he complained of him or it. ]ô  » jø  ø  ø l ô ] Ö» Û ô nø ^ å ö : The waters stopped.  ø  $  ø (inf. noun iø à »  ô m»  º ) : He affected to excuse himself but had no excuse or did not adduce an excuse that was valid; he did less than what was incumbent upon him or was remiss and deficient in an affair, causing it to be imagined that he had an excuse when he had none. Ú ö à ø  ôù  º is act. part. (plural Ú ö à ø  ôù  ö æ » á ø ). q ø ^ ð ø ] Ö» Û ö à ø  ôù  ö æ » á ø : The defaulters or the makers of false excuses came (9:90).  ö  »  º and Ú ø à »  ô  ø é º (inf. noun from  ø  ø  ø ) : An excuse; an apology; a plea whereby one excuses oneself. Î ø  » eø × ø Ç » k ø Ú ô à » Ö $  ö Þôù o »  ö  »  ÷ ] : Then thou shalt have got sufficient excuse from me (18:77).  ö  »  º also means success or victory. Öô Û ø à ô ] Ö» à ö  »  ö : Whose is the success or victory? Ú ø à »  ô  ø é º : Excuse. Î ø ^ Öö ç » ] Ú ø à »  ô  ø é ÷ : They said as an excuse (7:165). The plural of Ú ø à »  ô  ø é º is Ú ø à ø ^  ô  ö and Ú ø à ø ^  ô m»  ö and the latter is also plural of Ú ô à »  ø  º. Some say that Ú ø à ø ^  ô m»  ö is the irregular plural of Ú ø à »  ô  ø é º and means excuses, apologies, pleas, allegations and arguments. Öø ç » ]ø Ö» ÏF o Ú ø à ø ^  ô m»  ø å ü : Though he puts forward (his) excuses (75:16). ]ø Ö» Û ø à ø ^  ô m»  ö also means veils, curtains or coverings. 560   h   
